About Rael Pads

Rael Pads Review

Studies[1] have shown that feminine hygiene products and menstruation still face many social, cultural and religious restrictions that impede the management of resources. Accessibility is crucial in eliminating some of these barriers, and women’s body care brands that can be found online help eliminate the stigma around these products.

Rael is a women’s body care brand that mainly focuses on selling products related to feminine hygiene. Aside from pads, tampons, Rael panty liners, and underwear, they also sell skincare, Rael wash and wipes, and toothpaste

The company has been featured in publications such as InStyle, Allure magazine, and Insider. This indie beauty brand is also known for its leading movement in providing quality period care items in public restrooms

This Rael Pads review will go over their products, customer ratings, and the brand overall to help you decide if their products are worth the buy.

Overview of Rael Pads

Rael Pads Review

Rael Pads was born out of a need to have quality, comfortable, and high-performance feminine care. Rael Pads founder Aness Ann, with the help of Binna Won and Yanghee Paik in 2017, set forth to create their line of period-related products. Their mission was to create sustainable and naturally made products[2] that are accessible to every woman.

“Women have been faced with a hard choice when it comes to feminine care: conventional products full of chemicals or natural products that sacrifice performance. We believe women deserve the best of both worlds. That’s why we created Rael,” according to a statement on their website.

With Rael products sold to over 19 countries worldwide and growing, the company continues to expand its business by incorporating skincare, Rael natural feminine wash, and other hygiene-related items at a fair price

“Compassion and care are part of our DNA. We strive to make safe and effective period care accessible to all women everywhere because no woman’s life should be put on pause because of her flow.” So pure.

Before we get into this Rael review, let’s go over some initial pros and cons of the brand.

Highlights

  • Made with organic materials and free of harsh chemicals
  • Rael donates period products to a woman in need when a customer shares a photo with the #HappyPeriodsForAll
  • Rael also sells reusable items like pads and underwear, which are environmentally friendly
  • Positive customer reviews
  • Free shipping on orders over $30

Rael has extensive product selection when it comes to period care. They offer pads, tampons, liners, period underwear, and heating patches. Customers can also purchase period sets, which include a package of tampons, pads, and liners at a select price

This Rael review will go over two of their most popular period care products to give you a sense of what they offer.

Rael Organic Pads Review

Let’s face it, a good chunk of feminine menstrual pads are uncomfortable to wear. Sometimes the material used is too abrasive, and it doesn’t do a fine job of ensuring you don’t have an accidental leak.

However, Rael’s Organic Cotton Pads are both comfortable and designed to ensure you aren’t worryingly looking down there for a repeated amount of time. Crafted with plush organic cotton, these one of a kind pads are designed with leak locker technology to trap fluids and prevent overflowing

Plush organic cotton in any form is ethically sourced in subtropical countries. Not only does it eliminate the harsher components found in many menstruation products, according to this study[3], it is also better for the environment.

The organic pads are made without chemicals that may inflame or irritate your intimate areas. They have varying sizes, ranging from petite for your light days to extra large overnight for your heavy days. Petite and Regular include 14 pads and Large includes 12 pads

The Organic Cotton Pads are $7 a pack. If you are subscribed to Rael, you can save 10% off and purchase them for $6.30

Rael Organic Tampons Review

For those on team tampons, the Organic Cotton Tampons from Rael are made with the same ingredients and technology as their Organic Cotton Pads. They are made with responsibly sourced cotton from Texas and created without the use of harsh chemicals that could be harmful to your body. The applicators are BPA-free, which means it won’t disrupt your normal hormonal functions.

BPA is an industrial compound found in many plastics products and acts as an endocrine disruptor, which means it mimics natural hormones to interfere with normal processes in your body. You can find a detailed explanation of the dangers of BPA in this article[4].

For one pack of tampons, there are 16 included. Customers are already loving this product, as one reviewer wrote, “Seriously the best I’ve ever tried. Soft and smooth–not harsh like other brands. Zero irritation.” The Organic Cotton Tampons cost $7 for a box, but $6.30 if you are a Rael subscriber.

Rael Reusables Bestsellers

When it’s that time of the month, we tend to use up a lot of feminine hygiene products that are for one time use. It can be especially wasteful, and expensive. Thankfully, there are feminine hygiene products on the market that are both functional and eco-conscious[5].

With that being said, let me introduce the Rael Reusables collection, where they offer reusable pads, liners, and panties. Let’s take a look at a few of their bestselling reusables:

Rael Organic Reusable Pads Review

During your menstrual cycle, you can expect to use up a lot of pads to ensure that you stay comfortable and secured. But if you are starting to feel conscious of how much waste you’ve accumulated after your period is over, perhaps it’s time to try out Rael’s Organic Cotton Reusable Pads

Made with 5 moisture-wicking layers of organic cotton, you can use the Rael Organic Reusable Pads up to 120 times. It is created without the use of harsh chemicals that may disrupt your hormones or irritate your intimate areas.

Moisture wicking layers[6] are often durable and able to withstand bodily wear from day to day movement, with the added functionality of less exposure to harsh chemicals.

They come in 4 sizes, ranging from Petite, Regular, Large, and Overnight. The Organic Cotton Reusable Pads, for a pack of 3, costs $34

Rael Reusable Panty Liners Review

Panty Liners are one of the more essential period products out there that can accumulate a lot of waste from daily use. You want to have some sort of protection, even if you’re finished your period. The Organic Cotton Reusable Liners can come to your rescue, as they are crafted for you to use up to 120 times

Designed to catch stains, sweat, and discharge, these liners are made out of breathable organic cotton. You can also choose what color you’d like your Rael reusable panty liners to be, by selecting Tan or Basic White. The Organic Cotton Reusable Liners are available in a 3 pack for $30 or a 5 pack for $40

Rael Skin Bestsellers

Korean beauty products are oftentimes hailed as the holy grail when it comes to skincare. Rael has implemented its solutions and expertise into creating its skincare products. Within their collection, they have cleansers, moisturizers, treatments, masks, and skincare sets

This Rael review will showcase some of the top sellers in their skincare collection, which may be your next fix:

Rael Sheet Mask Review

When we think of self-care, oftentimes we imagine bath bombs, aromatherapy, a nice cup of hot tea, and of course, the classic face mask. They come in various forms and are created with a range of ingredients and solutions that are great for healthy skin. The Face Anything Kit, by Rael, has a selection of 4 face masks to treat you and your best friend at girl’s night.

Within their 4 pack kit, items like vitamin c, tea tree, hydration, and Rael Collagen Sheet Mask are included. They all include botanical ingredients[7], and each box contains 5 face masks, which total up to 20 masks for the entire kit. Each of the masks is also woven with the softest bamboo yarn that feels like your face is getting a warm, cleansing hug.

Vitamin C[8] is an antioxidant, meaning it protects the skin from UV damage and inhibits melanin production, which is helpful in lightening hyperpigmentation and evening out skin tone.

Tea tree, discussed in this journal[9], is anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial, which means it helps in reducing acne and fading acne scars.

The Face Anything Kit costs $45, down from the original price of $60. For a Rael subscriber, the kit costs $40.50

Rael Acne Patch Review

Breakouts are never fun, as they usually spawn during your menstrual cycle. Why do they usually happen right before a special event, like a date night? But there’s no need to break a sweat. Rael’s Spot Control Cover is just what you need before you go to bed, or right before you need to get dressed and be out the door.

Each Spot Control Cover is infused with hydrocolloid, which removes puss and oil from your blemishes, and most importantly, prevents you from picking at your skin. Rael recommends using it as a nose strip or on breakouts to “enjoy the disappearing act right before your eyes.”

Hydrocolloid[10] works by creating a protective barrier over the affected area of skin while also absorbing excess fluid and reducing inflammation.

For Extra-Large 10 to 20 acne covers, you can expect to pay $22, which is a discounted price from the original $24. However, if you’re a Rael subscriber, you can pay less for only $20

Rael Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Rael Review

This Rael review found that a majority of their customers love the products. Most reviewers on their website have commented on how comfortable their feminine hygiene products are, and love how they are naturally and sustainably made.

“The most comfortable pads I have used- hands down! And love the fact that they are organic and non-toxic,” one Rael reviewer wrote.

Customers also love their skincare products, which are deemed effective and leave their skin healthy and feeling super smooth. “Can’t believe the gunk that comes out of my acne! These are the best patches on the market,” one Rael reviewer wrote for the Rael Acne Patch

There are also positive reviews on Rael’s Amazon page and on Influenster for other products that Rael sells. Specifically for their Feminine Wash, which has 4.6/5 stars, and their Antioxidant Serum, which has an average of 4.4/5 stars

For the Feminine Wash, one of the reviewers on Influenster commented, “I really like this wash because it’s super gentle and doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals to irritate “down there” if ya know what I mean. It’s a nice almost light, whipped foam that’s really easy to use and leaves you feeling really fresh. I do enjoy the very light hint of lavender it contains.”

In terms of complaints, this Rael review found that a few customers commented on the pads being too thin, or experienced discomfort and leakage with their Rael tampons. Additionally, some have commented that select skincare items didn’t do much for their skin.

Overall, Rael reviews fall in favor of the brand.

Is Rael Pads Worth It?

Rael Review

Based on what I’ve gathered from their products and customer ratings, this Rael review recommends you giving them a try. I wasn’t aware that some feminine hygiene products like tampons and pads had chemicals that could irritate or harm your skin, so it was nice to know that companies like Rael exist to produce natural and safe products

Rael’s skincare line looks promising as well, as they market it as more akin to Korean beauty standards. With k-beauty[12] products on the rise within the skincare industry, it makes Rael more relevant, trustworthy, and on top of things.

This Rael review recognizes that some bad goes with the good. Some customers reported that the products can sometimes be uncomfortable, cause leakage, are too thin, or the skincare products were not very effective. When it comes down to it, some products just do not work for some people’s bodies and it takes trial and error to find what works best for you.

Overall, this Rael review still gets a good vibe from their company message in which they push for more accessibility when it comes to period-related products for women all over. Try Rael out and see for yourself what’s missing in your menstrual cycle and skincare routine.
