Overview of RE/DONE

RE/DONE Review

RE/DONE launched in 2014 with Jamie Mazur and Sean Barron at the helm. With two decades worth of experience in the fashion industry, Sean wanted to ensure a sustainable future for his daughter. Similarly, Jamie grew up loving denim and “Americana design”

The founders observed a gap in the market for made-to-order vintage Levi’s, and so RE/DONE was born. The brand’s mission includes aiming for “a more responsible future.”

RE/DONE also wants to bring individual senses of style back to luxury fashion—a concept that has been skewed by fast-fashion trends over the years. And their efforts must be working, because this is one of the first luxury labels that became successful as an e-commerce store.

Since the Los Angeles brand’s launch, they’ve kept over 145,000 clothing items away from landfills and designed them into high-end products. They are continuing to shape fashion into a greener future.

Plus, in 2016, the company engineered new recycled cotton from a 1950s Hanes shirt. Now, RE/DONE Hanes is available in “over 50 countries” at some of the top retailers in the world.

Now that you know more about the brand, this RE/DONE jeans review will go over overall some pros and cons.

RE/DONE Jeans Review

Nothing beats jeans that actually flatter all of your curves. A pair that’s too tight or too loose can ruin your day. Luckily, the best-selling RE/DONE jeans are made to be your perfect fit.

RE/DONE High Rise Crop Review

The RE/DONE High Rise Crop is a classic. It features a flattering high-rise and slim fit with a bit of a wider ankle. In addition, these upcycled Levi’s can become a new eco-conscious fave, as this pair was also made using no water

The vintage wash on these jeans allows for a lot of versatility. The medium blue bottoms would go well with a baseball tee, a white tank top, or your favorite graphic t-shirt. It can even be worn oversized for an edgy look. Finally, throw on some RE/DONE sneakers to really seal the deal.

The High Rise Crop jeans are currently sold out, but you can join the waitlist to be notified when they’re back in stock. They normally retail for $350

RE/DONE Comfort Stretch High Rise Stove Pipe Review

The Comfort Stretch High Rise Stove Pipe jeans are just another example of a timeless piece of clothing. They were inspired by the 70s straight-leg denim with a high-rise fit. Plus, the hems are raw and distressed, hitting just above the ankle.

You won’t feel restricted by the RE/DONE stove pipe jeans’s skinny fit. To add some flair, wear a pair of crew socks with your favorite high-tops. Additionally, if you’re not looking for classic black denim, there are 11 different washes to choose from in sizes 23 to 32, for $265.

RE/DONE High Rise Short Review

In the market for your next summer wardrobe item? Have a look at the High Rise Short. Of course, they’re made from recycled Levi’s and are designed for a looser fit at the legs.

Since they’re made from vintage denim, these shorts remind us of the 80s. It’s a good thing they’re making a nice comeback. The High Rise Shorts would look great with a colorful crop top and sneakers.

You could even throw on some bold jewelry for a cute night-out look. These shorts are currently unavailable on RE/DONE’s website, but they retail for $215

RE/DONE Sneakers Review

Are you looking for some footwear to complete your outfits? Look no further than RE/DONE’s best-selling sneakers. We’ve put together a selection of vintage kicks that stood out in this category.

RE/DONE 70s Runner Shoe Review

This next item gives new meaning to ‘dad shoes’. Keeping up with their upcycled signature, RE/DONE’s 70s Runner Shoe is a modern take on classic trainers from the 1970s.

The company’s aim was to pay “direct tribute to the decade that inspired it.” The suede sneaker is comfortable, quiet, and versatile.

Depending on the three colors you choose, you can style your 70s Runner Shoe with any of the stylish bottoms in this RE/DONE jeans review. We’d suggest pairing them with some straight-leg denim to keep the retro vibe alive.

The $395 shoes are handmade in Italy, so you know that they’re of top-notch quality.

RE/DONE 70s Low Top Skate Review

The vintage lookbook continues with these 70s Low Top Skate sneakers. The canvas-style shoe has a worn-in look to them, further emphasizing RE/DONE’S upcycling mission. It also features some extra heel padding for height and the company logo on the back.

You can’t go wrong with the 70s Low Top Skate shoes. Those who are drawn to bold patterns can check out the leopard or zebra print designs. These options will also stand out when worn with black RE/DONE jeans and a neutral tee.

These shoes are available in eight different options for $265. Try some solid colored kicks with the RE/DONE patchwork denim dress. That’ll definitely turn some heads!

RE/DONE 90s Skate Shoe Review

Moving forward a couple decades, RE/DONE presents the 90s Skate Shoe. These sneakers bring back feelings of nostalgia with a chunkier sole. They are made from 100% suede leather and given the familiar ‘lived-in’ wash.

With these kicks, you can style a casual look paired with some slim-fit jeans, your favorite distressed tee, and some ankle socks. So whether you’re out on the town or grabbing lunch with the girls, you’ll be looking laidback and relaxed in the $395 90’s Skate Shoe

RE/DONE Masks Review

The times have changed and we need to start paying attention to our surroundings. The fashion industry is working overtime to adapt, too. With that in mind, RE/DONE now sells face masks for your protection.

Which ones are customers adding to their shopping cart? We’ll find out soon enough. Note that for every mask purchased at RE/DONE, five masks are donated to frontline workers in the US.

RE/DONE Jersey Tie Dye Mask Review

Want to show off your personality while staying safe? RE/DONE’s Tie Dye Mask can do the job. Made from hand-dyed cotton jersey, it’s also machine washable for your convenience. Plus, its flexible straps ensure that there’s no irritation behind your ears.

If you’re looking to pair this bold mask with an outfit, you can’t go wrong with a neutral tee and some blue wash jeans. If tie-dye isn’t your thing, there are other options available—including a simple black mask with a graphic that reads, “if you can read this, you are too close.” This definitely serves as a firm and sassy reminder for others.

The RE/DONE dye mask is currently sold out but normally retails for $30

RE/DONE Upcycled Denim Mask Review

The brand stays true to its recycling practices with the Upcycled Denim Mask. This face covering is made with extra fabric from RE/DONE Levi’s jeans. Because of the reconstruction, each mask is unique and stylish.

The Upcycled Denim Mask can easily be worn with any outfit while keeping you protected against the virus. There’s no shame in that. Unfortunately, this designer RE/DONE denim mask is currently sold out. But, once it’s available, it’ll run you about $30

RE/DONE Upcycled Bandana Mask Review

Last but not least is the Upcycled Bandana Mask. This item is made from found bandanas and features 100% cotton lining on the inside. Each one might vary in shade because of the nature of its production.

With the mask as part of your outfit, we suggest going monochrome with different shades of purple. Some lilac or lavender pieces would look great with this covering. The RE/DONE purple bandana mask is on sale for $15 (down from $30).

RE/DONE Review

So, we’ve arrived at the interesting part of this RE/DONE jeans review: What do customers think about their purchases? We went searching for ratings across the internet.

Unfortunately, there are no customer testimonials on the main website. We also could not find any star ratings for the products in this review. That being said, we did find some helpful comments on ShopBop, TrustPilot, Better Business Bureau, and Reddit.

The Stove Pipe jeans received a couple of good reviews on ShopBop. One customer writes, “The brand is right about its sizing […] The material is great and soft, so even though it was tight on me, I still find no problem with wearing it for the entire day. Overall, love the quality and think it’s worth the price. Just make sure you get the right size!”

Another happy reviewer loves the jeans but did have to get them altered for a more tailored fit: “These jeans are super cute, but they gapped at my lower back, so I had to have them tailored to fit correctly. They’re great now […] They’re one of my go-to pairs.”

The High Rise Crop garnered a positive response as well, with one customer saying, “Exactly the pair of jeans I have been looking for. Super comfortable and fit perfectly. Will order from this brand again.”

Here’s how the brand rates on Trustpilot and BBB:

  • Trustpilot: 2.9/5 stars from a small pool of 4 reviewers

The general consensus on both Trustpilot and Reddit is that while RE/DONE’s clothing is appreciated by most people.

But, on the Better Business Bureau, it seems that complaints were resolved through refunds.
