About Dr Squatch Soap Co.

Dr Squatch Soap Review

I think I speak for everyone when I say we all want the best skincare products and treatments that a.) smell good b.) work, and c.) are good for us.

Even though Skincare products and treatments are seen by many as women related, studies shows that the grooming market for men is emerging[1].

Dr. Squatch specializes in all natural, handmade soap for men. The men’s care brand expanded into hair and shower products, cologne, and other essentials in recent years. They’ve definitely gained attention in the manscaping scene, but soap endures as their mainstay, with the opportunity to sign up for a monthly subscription.

Dr. Squatch was recently given a nod by Bustle mag, and last year its CEO was featured on the Celebrity Insider blog. It even boasts a 600k Instagram following. You probably ventured onto this site to find out if the speciality bar soap really is special, and I’ve got you.

In this Dr Squatch Soap review, I’ll give you an inside look at the brand and its products, customer ratings, promotions, and more, so you can decide for yourself if they’re worth the buy.

Why You Should Trust Us

Our mission is to help you make better, more informed purchase decisions.

Our team spends hours researching, consulting with medical experts, gathering insight from expert professionals, reviewing customer feedback, and analyzing products to provide you with the information you need.

Overview Of Dr Squatch Soap Co.

Dr Squatch Soap Review

Inspiration for the Dr. Squatch brand began with future CEO Jack Haldrup, a guy in his 20s with a passion for all-natural products. In his struggle to find the best soap for men, a gap in the personal care industry revealed itself (this was in the early 2010s).

Jack figured that he wasn’t the only one who wanted natural soap with more masculine scents. I’m familiar with his struggle, and while I’m partial to the delicate-smelling soaps in the organic aisle, I’ve noticed a lack of options for men.

As an opportunist and a serious scent guy, Jack decided to give soap inventing a try. After some time experimenting with ingredients and scents in the humble setting of his basement, Dr. Squatch reached the public in 2013. I think the concept behind the name is actually pretty funny. In Jack’s own words:

“During the first World War, BIG SOAP began stripping natural ingredients from soap to make production cheaper and faster … The term “natural soap” was as rare and mysterious as the Sasquatch[2] himself.”

I like the elusive natural soap = Sasquatch metaphor. Fast forward to today. Dr. Squatch is currently headquartered in LA, and the site generates some 12 million in revenue. The origin story and ascension to success are compelling, but there’s a lot more coming in this Dr Squatch Soap review. Are the products really worth the hype? Read on.

I’ll explore the good, the bad, and the ugly in this Dr Squatch Soap review, so let’s kick things off with some highlights:

Handmade Bar Soap

Dr Squatch Soap Review

Dr. Squatch specializes in thick, foamy, lathery soap in 11 masculine scents.

Every soap in the collection contains natural glycerin, combined with coconut and olive oil[3] to nourish your skin. There are no harsh chemicals and preservatives, so your skin will be left feeling smooth.

Dr. Squatch created a Squatch Quiz to help you figure out which soaps/scents would suit you best. I think it’s a pretty helpful tool. These soaps come in a range of colors and textures, often with bits of their main ingredients contained within.

Dr Squatch Soaps & Ingedients

For the sake of being thorough in this Dr Squatch Soap review, I’ve included details on the entire lineup below. Though, keep in mind that my snapshot only states the key ingredients (more details can be found on the website).

Dr. Squatch Soaps & Scents

And here are some examples of the ingredients’ effects in Dr. Squatch soaps:

  • Olive oil: Olive oil is a natural emollient that can help moisturize and soothe the skin.
  • Coconut oil: Coconut oil is a natural antibacterial and antifungal agent that can help cleanse and protect the skin.
  • Shea butter: Shea butter is a rich moisturizer that can help nourish and protect the skin.
  • Eucalyptus oil: Eucalyptus oil has a refreshing scent and can help soothe sore muscles and improve respiratory function.
  • Cedarwood oil: Cedarwood oil has a warm, woody scent and can help repel insects and soothe skin irritations.
  • Charcoal: Charcoal is a natural detoxifier that can help draw impurities and toxins out of the skin.
  • Kaolin clay: Kaolin clay is a gentle exfoliant that can help remove dead skin cells and improve skin texture.
  • Tea tree oil: Tea tree oil is a natural antibacterial and antifungal agent that can help treat acne and other skin conditions.

I think it’s pretty clear that Dr. Squatch offers a solid variety of scents. I’m writing this post as a lady, so I’ll say, on behalf of the girlfriends and wives, these scents seem the most appealing: the ones that make you smell like you’ve come straight from an ocean swim in the tropics, like fresh brewed coffee in the morning, or like one of those super old and tall Redwood trees. Just letting you know.

One Dr Squatch Gal agreed, reviewing the Alpine Sage soap bar: “Love it! Bought for my hubs, but I use it too!

If you don’t opt for the soap subscription, the regular retail prices are 1 bar for $7, 2 bars for $14, or 3 bars for $21. Every bar is 5 oz, and unfortunately, buying in “bulk” doesn’t save you any money unless you opt for a bundle or sign up for the subscription. I’ll tell you all about it next in this Dr Squatch Soap review.

Dr Squatch Soap Subscription

Dr Squatch Soap Review

I’m not too sure what happens when it comes time for some men to shower, but I know a few that like the 1-2 method. I’m all for saving water but being clean is great too.

Signing up for the Dr Squatch Soap Subscription makes showering a little easier for guys with little time for the routine. It naturally comes with perks, including:

  • You save 15% on each bar
  • Free shipping store-wide
  • Build Your Own: customize your soap scents, quantity, and frequency of delivery
  • Delivery Options: quarterly (save $1/bar) or monthly (add $1 for handling)

Here’s a breakdown of pricing:

Monthly Subscription: 2 bars/month: $13 or 3 bars/month: $19

Quarterly Subscription: 3 bars/4 months: $18 or 6 bars/4 months: $36 or 9 bars/4 months: $54

All 11 scents are available through the subscription, and there are option add-ons offered for the first shipment.

The Dr. Squatch Soap Subscription is flexible: you can cancel or change soap scents, quantity, and/or frequency at any time (this is made for the indecisive dudes out there).

Shower & Hair Care

After a few clicks and scroll on the brand’s site for this Dr Squatch Soap review, I turned up a pretty limited hair care collection, with only shampoo, conditioner, and a combination kit to choose from. They actually have a ton of ingredients packed in, which you can review on the website. I’ll get into the core natural ingredients below (otherwise we’ll be here all day).

Men’s Moisturizing Shampoo

I know men aren’t too fussy when it comes to the shampoo they buy, but on some level, I think you all care about how your hair looks.

Dr Squatch Men’s Moisturizing Shampoo is formulated to fortify your hair and restore your locks to a healthy state. The shampoo contains strength-building vitamins from the nettle leaf[4], and tea tree soothes the scalp and repairs damaged strands. Add the fresh scent of cyprus oil, and you get an Uplifting Ocean Breeze scent.

Dr Squatch recommends that the shampoo be used 1-3 times weekly, depending on hair type. If your hair is brittle and/or curly, you should shampoo less often (once/week). If you have straight hair and/or oily hair, you can get away with washing 3x/week. If your hair is slightly dry and/or curly, 2x/week is best.

One customer made remarks about how clean their hair felt after using this product: “I love the feel of it after I use it. There is not a lot of chemical feeling when I rinse my hair. I just feel clean!”

This potent shampoo is effective in small quantities, so you’ll only need to use a dime sized amount. At the same time, it provides a gentle rinse that helps remove excess dirt, sweat, and oils from your scalp without drying it out. Each bottle is 8 fl. oz, priced at $20.

Men’s Daily Conditioner

A lot of guys think that they don’t need to use conditioner[5], or that 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner products work just as well as the two products alone.

Well, I’m here to tell you that this is false. In either case, this will end up drying your hair out, so if you’re serious about improving the state of your locks, I’d recommend getting a conditioner as well.

Dr Squatch Men’s Daily Conditioner contains the calendula plant[6] which hydrates your mane, while peppermint[7] stimulates your scalp to promote growth. Clary sage restores your hair’s natural pH balance, which also helps reverse dryness. The combination of ingredients (again, not mentioned in full) results in an Uplifting Cool Mint/Orange scent.

Another happy customer shared their experience with this product: “I get compliments all the time about what kind of product I use in my hair, and I just show them this 🔥”

Dr Squatch Daily Conditioner, like almost every conditioner out there, targets hydration. Not all conditioners are meant to be used daily, but this mild formula is designed specifically for that. The conditioner is available in 12 fl. oz for $20.

Hair Care Kit & Subscription

Dr Squatch Soap Review

Did I convince you on the whole conditioner thing? If you’re thinking about adding a bottle to your cart along with the shampoo, read this:

You can save on shampoo and conditioner by purchasing the Hair Care Kit, priced at $38. This ends up saving you $2, which is better than nothing.

There’s more savings involved when you sign up for the Hair Care Subscription, which is only available for quarterly delivery. Just like the Soap Subscription, you save $6 and get free shipping. You get to choose how many products will be shipped to you, with standard pricing for each:

  • Hair Care Subscription Kit: $28 (save 18%)
  • Shampoo Subscription: $17
  • Conditioner Subscription: $17

You can also purchase cologne add-ons to your first subscription order, but I’ll get to those later on.

Shower Boosters

In my experience with bar soap, it either gets stuck to the edge of the tub or annoyingly slides down the sides. The Soap Saver and Soap Gripper are meant to stop either of those things from happening and help you avoid technical difficulties.

The Soap Saver for $15 is meant to preserve your bars, securing them with a rustic-looking cedar block. You can also purchase an upgrade, the Bigfoot Soap Saver for $25, which holds 3 bars at once. According to Dr Squatch, these blocks extend your soap life up to 2x, since they reduce slippage and dissolving on a shower or tub ledge.

The Soap Gripper is for the clumsy lads who are constantly dropping their bars. I’m not criticizing, I personally do it all the time. Even this reviewer admitted to trouble with handling his bars:

Say goodbye to soap stacking and soap sticking to the shower with this incredible little piece of wood. Now I can have up to THREE bars in the shower and my wife doesn’t have to ruin them by putting them back in the boxes while they’re still wet!!!

This fancy ergonomic soap accessory attaches to any bar of Dr Squatch soap, with subtle little spikes. For $10, you can also get a Travel Bag for your soap, so you can bring it on the road without causing a mess.

Shaving

Dr Squatch wants you to shave the traditional way, and I get a sense of that intent with these 19th century-esque products. Very classy looking. This Shave Kit reminds me of the guys in Peaky Blinders or any historical movie featuring Tom Hardy. What’s in the kit?

  • The Shave Brush features a sturdy handle and 100% synthetic bristles that are soft to the touch, quick-drying, and create a rich, foamy lather when you swish it against your stubble. Once you’re done with the brush, rinse it off and hang it on the included stand to dry.
  • The organic Shave Bar is more nourishing compared to gels and foams, containing nourishing bentonite clay, moisturizing castor oil, soothing cocoa butter, and pleasant-smelling peppermint and eucalyptus oils. It’s basically a shave soap and aftershave all in one.
  • The ceramic Shave Mug adds to the old-school vibes, featuring the iconic Dr. Squatch seal. Fill the mug with warm water to prep it for your shave, submerge the brush in the mug, then twirl the brush on the surface of the bar to lather it up—then you’re all ready to apply the lather on your face.

I like the fact that you can purchase the Shave Kit for $40 ($7.50 in savings), or any of the products sold separately:

  • Shave Brush: $17.50
  • Shave Bar: $10.50
  • Shave Mug: $19.50

Beard Oil & Beard Cologne

Dr Squatch doesn’t leave the beard guys behind. CEO Jack Haldrup has a beard himself. Dr Squatch beard oils are made of natural essential oils that hydrate and nourish your beard. Each of the two varieties costs $18, with an included dropper for effective application.

The Lakeside Bourbon Beard Oil is reminiscent of canoe trips and kicking back dockside with a nice glass of bourbon. This beard oil contains sandalwood, myrrh, and grapefruit to get that Smooth Bourbon scent. Definitely a favorite of mine.

The Fresh Fir Beard Oil features a woodsy trio of cedarwood, fir needle, hemlock spruce, with a gentle citrus undertone. It has the aromas of Christmas morning, mountain air, and fresh squeezed OJ. An interesting combo, for sure.

One Fresh Fir user raved about the scent and feel of the product: “Great stuff my beard is softer and less frizzy. The natural oils and the woodsy fragrance are fantastic.

Since Dr Squatch is so obsessed with scents, it’s not surprising that they branched out into cologne. I’m kind of stoked they did because the essential oil-based Crushed Pine and Beachwood Bourbon scents sound pretty great to me.

These scents are only subtly different compared to the beard oils, since they’re meant to complement one another and be worn together. You can get these Dr Squatch colognes for $21 each.

Candles & Gifts

Dr Squatch Soap Review

Dr Squatch gift sets are available in 4 ‘bundles’, so you can customize each box (to a certain extent). I’m a fan on bundles, especially for gifts. They let you or a friend try out a few items and see what works.

The site refers to these gift boxes as a subtle way to say ‘you stink,’ which is pretty clever, if whoever you’re sending the gift to isn’t big on showering. Or you can just send it to someone who you know would appreciate it.

Each Dr. Squatch Gift Box is $49, delivered in a custom gift box straight to the receiver’s home. They all come with Moisturizing Shampoo and Daily Conditioner, as well as a choice between:

  • The Squatch Bundle: Crisp IPA, Deep Sea Goat’s Milk, and Pine Tar soaps
  • The Forest Bundle: Pine Tar, Cedar Citrus, and Gold Moss soaps
  • The Beach Bundle: Bay Rum, Crisp IPA, and Nautical Sage soaps
  • The Fresh Bundle: Eucalyptus Greek Yogurt, Cool Fresh Aloe, and Spearmint Basil Scrub soaps

You have the option to add any of the brand’s candles which are made in the full line of their signature scents. My favorite? The Bay Rum Candle. This candle conjures up a white-sand beach aroma, featuring crushed cloves, cinnamon sticks, crisp pine, and zesty orange. My family is from the Caribbean, and this is definitely taking me back to the islands.

Who Is Dr Squatch Soap For?

Dr. Squatch soap is marketed towards men, specifically those who are looking for natural, eco-friendly, and high-quality personal care products.

The brand emphasizes its use of natural ingredients and the absence of harsh chemicals, which may appeal to men who are conscious of what they put on their skin and their impact on the environment.

That being said, Dr. Squatch soap can be used by anyone who wants to try their products, regardless of gender. The brand offers a variety of scents and formulations that can cater to different preferences and skin types.

It’s worth noting that Dr. Squatch soap may not be suitable for individuals with specific skin conditions or allergies to certain ingredients. As with any personal care product, it’s always recommended to read the ingredient list and patch test before use to avoid any adverse reactions.

Dr Squatch Soap Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Dr Squatch Soap Review

This is the high point of my Dr Squatch Soap review since a brand can claim whatever they want, but it all comes down to customer satisfaction.

Almost every product on the site has at least 70 reviews, and the bar soaps have amassed 1000+ reviews each. Every product is rated around 4.5/5 or 5/5. Here are some interesting ones I found:

  • Nautical Sage Soap: “Smells great and gets oil and grime off from my mechanic work without being harsh on my skin.
  • Cool Fresh Aloe Soap: “Great smell and leaves me feeling smooth. My skin also feels much more hydrated.”
  • Hair Care Kit: “Ever since I started using this my wife can’t stop running her fingers through my hair. The smell is fantastic and the tingle on the scalp is so refreshing every time I shower.”
  • Bay Rum Candle: “I put it in my room and lit the wood wick and sweet mercy It filled the air with everything I wanted a candle to be.”

I also came across several Dr Squatch Soap reviews written by women, who now use the soap, shampoo, and conditioner exclusively. I don’t blame them, Milk Choccy sounds right up my alley. Dr. Squatch wins more points in my book for this.

I certainly can’t base everything on website reviews, so I looked up some other sources to get the full story. Let’s take a look at some of the brand’s average ratings:

  • Trustpilot: 4/5 stars
  • Irreverent Gent: 4.5/5 stars
  • Amazon: 4.3/5 stars
  • Better Business Bureau (BBB): 3.33/5 stars

Here’s what one customer had to say in their Dr Squatch Soap review on Trustpilot.com: “The soaps have left me feeling cleaner than ever, some times with poor quality shower gels I would still smell bad after using them and showering…The deodorant is fresh falls again and is superb. I will certainly be coming back for that and don’t want to use nasty sprays again.”

It wasn’t all roses with this brand though. Some mentioned issues with shipping (during COVID) while others weren’t too keen on the products altogether. The most common issue I ran into? Too many ads on YouTube. That’s understandably annoying but doesn’t exist if you spend a little less time watching guitar vids. There are some negative reviews that hold merit, but honestly, I don’t think many of them should count.

Dr. Squatch is accredited by the BBB, which gave the company an A- rating. I ran into many happy customers satisfied with the subscription, who “swear by their soap,” etc., while others complained of late shipments and inaccessible customer service. Most of these negative reviews are dated during COVID-19, but a handful of them were posted beforehand.

On the other hand, there are also many positive reviews of Dr. Squatch soap beyond the website. A Dr Squatch Soap review by Mic magazine described it as “the best bar soap for men,” and The Zoe Report, TheGamer, and many other media outlets rated the products favorably.

All this conflicting information is a lot to take in. But I’m happy to say that for the most part, feedback is positive for this brand. It makes the next section of my Dr Squatch Soap review very easy.

My Verdict On Dr Squatch

Dr Squatch Soap Review

So, what do you think of Dr. Squatch? Overall, I give the brand a thumbs up in this Dr Squatch Soap review. They have millions of happy customers, and although there are some unfavorable reviews out there, many of them take place during the unprecedented times of COVID-19.

With every multi-million dollar company, it’s inevitable for some customers to fall through the cracks, but for the most part, people are satisfied.

Something else worth noting in this part of my Dr Squatch Soap review is that I realize the products are pricier than average, except maybe the Shave Kit and Colognes. It may seem unreasonable to pay $7 for a bar of soap, especially if you go through the stuff fast. The subscription does offer savings, but even so, this brand is not the right choice if you’re on a tight budget.

If you do have the money, it’s clear that you’re getting good quality products, so in this case, I think they’re worth the investment.

The most important recap in this Dr Squatch Soap review: the lineup is all natural and good for the environment. Did you know your skin is the largest organ in the body and absorbs a ton of environmental toxins? True story. Though I’ll admit there are cheaper all-natural products out there, I like the scents, ingredients, and overall theme that this brand has.

Where To Buy Dr Squatch

Dr Squatch Soap Review

How To Choose The Best Bar Soap For Men

Choosing the best bar soap for men can depend on a few factors, including skin type, personal preferences, and any specific skin concerns. Here are some tips to help you choose the best bar soap for your needs:

  1. Consider your skin type: If you have dry skin, look for a soap that contains moisturizing ingredients like shea butter or coconut oil. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, look for a soap that contains ingredients like tea tree oil or charcoal to help cleanse and purify the skin.
  2. Look for natural ingredients: Natural ingredients like essential oils, plant extracts, and natural moisturizers can be gentler on the skin and less likely to cause irritation or dryness.
  3. Consider the scent: Many bar soaps for men come in unique scents, ranging from fresh and clean to musky and masculine. Choose a scent that appeals to you, or opt for a fragrance-free option if you prefer.
  4. Read the ingredient list: Look for soaps that are free from harsh chemicals like sulfates, parabens, and phthalates, which can be irritating or damaging to the skin.
  5. Consider the brand: Look for reputable brands that prioritize quality and natural ingredients. Check online reviews and customer feedback to get a sense of the effectiveness and quality of the soap.

Ultimately, the best bar soap for men is one that works well for your individual needs and preferences. It may take some trial and error to find the right one, but by considering factors like skin type, ingredients, scent, and brand, you can narrow down your options and find a soap that works best for you.

Dr Squatch Alternatives

There are many alternatives to Dr. Squatch soap, depending on your personal preferences and needs. Here are some options to consider:

  1. Duke Cannon: Duke Cannon makes a line of men’s grooming products, including soap bars, body washes, and grooming accessories. They also emphasize the use of natural and high-quality ingredients, and offer a variety of scents and formulations to choose from.
  2. Cremo: Cremo offers a range of men’s grooming products, including body washes and bar soaps. Their products are formulated with unique scents and ingredients that cater to different skin types and concerns.

These are just a few examples of the many alternatives to Dr. Squatch soap. It’s worth noting that each brand may have its own unique selling points, and it’s important to choose a product that works best for your individual needs and preferences.

Got the order ≈ 5 days, and I love this stuff! What an aroma, oh, the pine tar is my favorite. I smell so good. My girlfriend seems to like, cannot pin her down on her true feelings, working that. I’m buying again, although at checkout, the purchase link has a javascript 0 error. Damm, I want more soap!!!!!

Ordered the starter pack and paid $15 for fedex 2 day shipping. After the soap arrived a week and half later, it showed up in a fedex bubble envelope and one of the bars of soap was totally destroyed in a thousand pieces. They should not offer 2 day shipping when there could be a 3 day handling. When you pay $15 shipping, you would expect it to be delivered 2 days after you bought it. They also need better packaging.

The rumors about them getting the bars from another distribution seem pretty true, I tried ordering a loaf, if I can get that I will disable my subscription
Does anybody know where they get their shampoo and conditioner from?

Kidding right? They claim to make it, you’re not going to get an honest answer when a company claims that.

Does anyone take the time to measure, because the “5” oz soaps are all 4 oz! I weighed all 12 I received and it was consistent! Is that legal?

your soap is GROSSLY overpriced and your reviews are really not that great… They are at a 2 out of 5 on all sites…. So basically you sell medioker soap and you take people to the cleaners! Classic.

You cannot leave a review on their website. I have been trying to for 7 days now, but it wont let me leave a review. It leaves me to believe that their reviews are all fake and created by themselves. I wish a lawyer would start a class action lawsuit against them. I’d join that!

Purchased some items for a gift and myself on 3/22/21. Was notified that order would be delayed. When requested info about a ship date only receive vague answers in spite of 2 requests. USPS then lost the order. As I had missed the date to give this as a gift I requested a refund on 4/8 and was told 5-10 business days to receive. On 4/29 had to contact about refund and was AGAIN told 5-10 days. This company knows nothing about follow up or customer service, if you have an issue do not expect prompt/though service

I see all of these reviews and I note the time. You all do realize that the mail system did indeed practically fail with the situation? I’ve been a customer for months, my first “screw up” happened this month when I was mistakenly sent another persons order. I immediately went online to their online help desk, I was greeted warmly and with a photo proving I received the wrong order my order was replaced free of charge in seconds… and I was allowed to keep the items that were accidentally sent as a gift. (Did I mention this was at like 5pm on a Saturday?)

Yes, shipping claims to be 2-3 days… It will never be. I’ve waited upwards of 1.5 – 2 weeks for my orders. But they always came. Maybe I am lucky, maybe you shouldn’t complain about a mail system in November or December or earlier the same year when the entire country was shut down and people were barely able to work? I dunno, but this company is great, I had a great customer service experience. Do NOT be afraid to throw them some cash.

Also, take more than two seconds to explore the support options, there is email and chat support at the moment. No phone. Dunno why…

Yeah you must work for them. My order is taking OVER 3 weeks to travel the distance of two states. This company wasted all their money on an awful ad campaign and put next to nothing in their shipping department. The soap bars are not quality made as they fall apart after one gentle use. Getting more than five showers out of one bar is doing good. There are far superior options out there that have their shyt together. Dr.Squatch is just pure trash all the way around. They are nothing more than what they think is a clever marketing campaign stealing the idea of a sasqutch like YETI has also done and various other companies. Their company and product, on the other hand, are far from clever and cannot even manage their shipping department correctly. Their excuse is that they are getting business and cannot keep up…. THEN HIRE ANOTHER GD WORKER!!!!

They do not respond to e-mails with certain issues. You cannot leave a review on their website, but yet they have many reviews listed. Google wont even let you leave a review for them anymore. They are just an advertisement company using another business as cover. Clearly you either work for them or are getting paid for leaving fake positive experiences with them.

Maybe they should update their shipping to “we will create a shipping label within 2-3 business days, but your item won’t ship for a couple of weeks”. Instead of telling people to chill when this company has proven over and over, for a year or more now to not get their shipments out when they say they’re going to. I don’t think anyone has issues waiting, the issue is with the lack of getting the shipments sent out when they say they will.
After finally receiving my products, I’ve been happy with the deodorant, but the soap was nothing more than what I made in 5th grade, for a project. It’s smells great but falls apart and if you lather yourself good it will maybe last a weeks worth of showers.
Based on my poor first experience with them, I won’t be reordering or recommending. There are plenty of other companies doing the same thing, Dr. Squatch isn’t special enough to give another chance. Paying higher prices for products like this you expect a little better service/product.

IT is all hype and no follow through. Dr.Squatch is an advertising company at best. Their shipping has a horrible success rate and they instantly take your money and then take weeks to ship your products. It is truly a gamble if you will receive your paid for items or not.

I ordered the sample pack, which has one bar of each type of scent. I didn’t really keep track of the shipping time, because I was sort of drunk when I ordered it and had forgotten about it by the time it got here. So it was a nice surprise. But I live in the Arctic part of Canada and everything takes forever to get here, so I have to assume the shipping time was reasonable. Couldn’t have been more than a few weeks. Anyway I think the soap is great. It makes lots of lather, and I like the scents. My wife does too. I think it’s pretty good.

The shipping issues are real.

I’m fine with a longer shipping experience (considering Amazon has us conditioned to expect 2 day shipping) however this is painful.

They do this thing where they say “your package arrives in 1-3 days” when it doesn’t arrive, they just push the window back another day. By that logic, anything arrives in “1-3 days”. It’s been changed 5 times now. At this point, they’ve lost my business.

As you are reading all the comments are the same and they are all true. It’s been over a month when i ordered some crappy soaps from this non-existent company and of course there is no way to contact them so they steal your money and never give you anything. If anyone knows of a real phone number please email it to me because this is all a scam.

The customer service is nonexistent or at the most, extremely poor. I ordered on December 5,2020. It was shipped on December 10,2020. It sat in a ware house in New Jersey for 10 days and was then moved to another warehouse in New Jersey where it still sits. It is January 20, 2021 and I still haven’t received it. The post office told me it was picked up by a third party shipping company and hasn’t yet been received by them. Customer service is a joke. I was told I couldn’t receive a refund because it was still an active order. They did however after weeks of fighting with them, send me a replacement order with 2 day shipping. I don’t expect my original order will ever arrive.

Ordered on December 16th 2020.
the issue I’m having with this company is that they were sold out of one of the items I ordered, so instead of saying that they processed the order. I finally got in touch with them on the 22nd to see when would it ship out AND that’s when I was finally told that they were sold out and had to wait to restock before shipping out. I asked to cancel order and they stated they couldn’t cancel.
I got in touch with them again on and again stated they were still waiting on restocking🙄 again I asked to cancel…. and again stated they could not because now the order was in the warehouse. Sent me a gift card for $15… 🤔 I’m wondering why would they do that when I would never, ever order from them again .
So finally they have shipped my order😳

The article mentioned, “That being said, you can find cheaper all natural products.” My question is can you please provide 2-3 examples of what these cheaper (but similar quality and type) all natural products would be?

I see on the Dr Squatch website one bar of soap going for $12.
I cannot afford that. I work full-time but I only make $14.25 per hour.
I am more used to soaps like Dove Men+Care where two bars costs $4.49 (through CVS Pharmacy) or 6 bars costs $8.99.

Thank you! 🙂

I made my order on the 16th of December, it’s January 2nd and I’m still waiting on my order. I’m disappointed since this supposed to be a Christmas gift for my husband. What’s worse the company is only sending part of my order. When asked for a refund, they kept back and forth with me and why they won’t send me full refund or as I requested refund for the item not available. It’s obvious this company is a scam. What company doesn’t have a customer service line. Never again. I’m surprised that this hasn’t been used. What’s sad this is not a time to scam people.

Overhyped, lots of sizzle, very little steak. Package shipped, I am told, from Kenturcky, a mere 337 miles from my home. It is now one week later and has not delivered. Perhaps instead of spending effusively on copy writers issuing meaningless platitudes of babel, these null sets could hire an octogenerian or two to take their marginal products, drop them in an envelope and direct ship them to morons, like me, stupid enough to eschew the gratis tiny soap bars at the Motel 6 in Carrier Mills and opt for this overpriced crap.

I’ve emailed the Company and I’ve gotten emails saying its my fault I didn’t order sooner. They are blowing up my email with buy this from me and can’t deliver what I bought. Pretty crappy company. Obviously customer dissatisfaction means nothing to these people.. almost every review is compliant. Looks like they would do anything to improve. The products are good, but I will forgo a good product if I have to go through a rant daily to try to get them to ship it.
This is not a Covid problem for them.. it is their history.
Such a shame they do not respect their supporters.
You can buy from them but beware there is no time frame for receiving.. because of this one would have to be crazy to consider a subscription.. what a joke!!!

Their slogan should be Over promise, under deliver. The positive reviews must be pd or employees cause every other review was spot on. I’ve ordered several times & shipping is always an issue. This last one is the last straw. Ordered Nov 27, got shipping notice Dec 1. Cool right? Nope. As of today, Dec 19, my order status is still “USPS awaiting package” from shipping partner. Who is this shipping partner???? & Why are they keeping my soap so long??? Company just wants to blame Covid or holidays. I’m not buying it. Literally. Ever again. Already submitted dispute on card.
To echo another reviewer no wonder they’re making millions….they’re not spending any overhead on shipping or customer service.

Was excited to receive my first shipment of this over hyped product. Got the 11 soap bar package to try all the scents. Have tried 4 of the scents so far, deep sea goats milk, bay rum, pine tar, and cedar citrus. My favorites are cedar citrus and bay rum. The scents are great “in” the shower but disappear as soon as you towel off. The soap itself disappears pretty quickly also and leaves an incredible amount of sticky scum on the shower walls. I am only going to use the rest of the package as hand soap in the sink and won’t be buying any more. Save your $$ find something else.

Same experience. The pine tar stained my shower. Had to spend time cleaning that up with other soap. The scents didn’t last and weren’t particularly pleasant to begin with. The soap lasts about 1 week before it fell apart. The cologne smelled like wood oil that you use to treat table tops, the best I can explain it. The anti perspirant near tore the skin off my armpits. Was dry and rough. I think they only thing they got right was the packaging and marketing. Other than that a 100% disappointing experience. There was nothing good about these products that I could really get behind. Unless this company changes it’s product formulas they won’t last.

I like the soap. I’m on my 3rd bar and I’ve gotten about 2 weeks out of each one. I think it smells great and feels great after the shower. $7 a bar is pricey for 1 bar but I think it’s worth it. My soap arrived on time and I live in Baltimore County in Maryland. I will continue to use Dr Squatch soap and plan to buy hair products in the future.

My order has been sitting at one of their “Shipping Partner Facilities” for the past 5 days. This place is about a 3 hour drive away from where I live. At a $6 to $7 for a premium for a bar of soap, this kind of poor service is not worth my repeat patronage.

There is a rumor going around that Dr. Squatch does not make their own soap but buys it from a soap wholesaler. If it is indeed the one that I am thinking of, you can get soap in bulk there for as low as $1.60 a bar.

I personally like Dr Bronners soap better. They have organic soaps in a variety of scents (lavender is my personal favorite), last longer, feels cleaner, and they’re not nearly as expensive (more than half-off the prices listed on the website).

Scott H

Not sure what was worse; the scent, the stains it left on the shower and washcloths, or the short life. If you have a white shower or white washcloths, they will be stained black from the pine tar soap. My wife was appalled at the smell, and even more PO’d at the mess it left in the shower and the washcloths. At best, it may have lasted 8-9 days before completely falling apart, an incredibly short life for a $7 bar of soap.

If you work with your hands for a living and get your hands and body dirty, this is not the soap for you. To get the dirt off, you better bring a wire brush with you into the shower – this soap simply won’t cut it. Did I mention how it stained everything it came into contact with? Definitely not worth the inflated price you will pay for it. Next year I may buy more to seal the cracks in my bituminous driveway.

I was asked by DrSquatch to review their product on my recent purchase(order#2638394) and quickly learned that they only post positive reviews(what a shocker!!) I even emailed them to inquire as to why me review was not posted – crickets. This is dishonesty in it’s best form. Just read all of the reviews above – Save your money and stay away from this garbage.

I received several bars as a gift. Thought they were good. The last bar I opened fell apart even though I only use it for hands and face. I was going to make a purchase online and noticed that they had a promo for a 6 pack reduced in price from $42 to $39 with a prominent label of “free shipping.” Wen through the process and when it wanted credit card info it said “shipping fee.” I stopped and didn’t order. After sending feedback. They argued with me saying that because they discount it so much you have to buy over $40 worth. Nowhere did the site say that nor did the pic. I replied with a copy of the screenshot where I was purchasing from. Their response was “we’ll refund your shipping.” I won’t bother. They clearly have no intent to honor their own advertising on their site. I’m not going to fight to get what they advertised. They are not the only soap seller around. I like the soap but I don’t like paying for a hassle.

The purchased soap saver for over 15$ was so cheep it should have been free with soap purchase.

All in all a very dissatisfied experience.

I had shipping issues with my first order. It took almost six weeks to arrive. But my second order arrive in about five days. I have no idea what the problem was. Overall I like their soap. I noticed my skin hasn’t been as dry and the smell is not overwhelming. The reason I tried it was my wife kept complaining that my normal big market soap was too strong of an odor and it was making her sick.

As far as I know the reviews are 100% right about how poor their customer service is and they only have a 30 minute gap between placing or cancelling your order, so once you placed it you got no chance to cancel it after 30 minutes of placing the order. I subscribed to dr squatch sop bars but it doesn’t show me a specific place mom their website to where to look for the subscription.

Secondly when I contacted them to cancel my second batch of soap before it reached me right after I got the email I contacted them to cancel it. It hasn’t been shipped yet! I wished I could share the screen shot but unfortunately their system don’t support it. The quality of soap is good but it’s way too expensive.

Overall pls don’t subscribe to them or else you’ll end up loosing your money . Hope they refund me after reading my comment ✌🏽😃😔

the soap isnt bad, but the seant doesn’t go further then the bar so far as I’ve found and I’m on bar 6 of 9 bars, all different. this isn’t even to mention a bar will last someone who cleans them self 1-2 a day about a week. the bar i normally use yardly london last generally about 2-4 weeks cost only 1-2 dollers (depends on sale as it is a consistent thing).
so to sum the soap isn’t bad but doesn’t produce the wow factor you seen in the commercial. and is by no means worth the price tag of 7-9 dollars a bar dependent on were you bought it.

if you want a better option check out the yardley or even check out your local wholefoods which sales natural soap – although I’ve not tried that out yet, but i know it is also cheaper.

First, this soap takes FAR too long to arrive. I have placed 2 orders and I will likely never place another order. My first order took nearly two weeks to arrive and I am still waiting for my second order (15 days in). Their reliance on the United States Postal Service for basic shipping is misplaced and they apparently have a lot to learn for logistics. The shipping for ground carriers is cost prohibitive given the already expensive nature of their soap.

Second, despite their advertising, the fragrance of their soap doesn’t last past the rinse off in the shower. One soap, Pine Tar, barely lathers, feels like it has wood chips in it, turns to mush after it gets wet, and doesn’t last long at all. I dry my bars on a soap-saver rack in the shower outside the stream of water, but the soap still didn’t last.

I want to use a natural product for my overall skin health, and fortunately I have a local producer that sells natural soap for about $3 a bar…less than half the cost of Dr. Squatch soap.

I would probably have continued buying Dr. Squatch soap if one of my two orders had arrived in a timely manner. Oh, and don’t expect to get any customer service from them. The only way to contact them is by email and they don’t have a “Where the heck is my order?” option on their website.

Overall, until Dr. Squatch figures out 1) logistics, and 2) customer service, they aren’t the soap solution we men are looking for. Buy local if you can.

This absolutely reads as a paid review. Their shipping issues did not start with Covid. Way back in early 2019 when I first started subscribing I had to call on almost every order. I live 20 miles from their warehouse and it has never taken less than 2 weeks. Their negative shipping issues have been ongoing and they choose to ignore it. That is not just bad customer service, that is blatant business ignorance. Rocky Mountain Soap Company is a few bucks cheaper, have more product offerings, AND THEY SHIP IN A TIMELY MANNER. After having spent more than $500 in a year with them (we gave a lot of soap at Christmas) I have cancelled my subscription as their email responses make it clear they don’t care about the customer experience.

I placed an order June 26, 2020 It did ship according to the tracking number. However it has been at a shipping partner in Atlanta,GA since July 1. I did ask for a full refund for non delivery. I was first given a refund on my taxes and shipping. Wow a refund on free shipping. What a stand up company. Next complaint I received a 20% refund for my frustration. When I ask for a full refund again for non delivery, I was told no because my order was very much active and I could still receive it sometime in the future. Really??? I now have a claim submitted with my PayPal account. Dr. Squatch’s customer service is a joke! I guess we all know how the owner made 6 million dollars from his company.
