Overview of Frye Boots

Frye Boots Review

The Frye brand has a long-winded history, dating back over 150 years. Starting in 1863, founder John A. Frye opened his shoe store on Elm Street in Marlboro, Massachusetts. In 1888, the company crafted their very first boot, which now resides in the Marlboro Historical Society

Frye Boots continues to expand its company by manufacturing its signature, high-quality boots to adapt to ongoing fashion trends, such as Cowboy Western and significant historical events such as World War II.

Veronica Combat

Everyone should have at least one pair of boots to stomp in. If you want a badass touch to every outfit you pair them with, you can’t go wrong with a classic combat boot. Designed to withstand the toughest of environments, these boots won’t go down without a fight.

Frye’s Veronica Combat boots are long-lasting with Goodyear welt construction. The leather and rubber sole offers reasonably comfortable padding, and a 1-inch heel adds a bit of height to your step. These femme fatale boots come in 10 different color options, including three in oiled suede.

Made out of charcoal, soft Italian leather, these Frye Combat Boots feature a streamlined silhouette. This cute ankle boot would look great with a pair of military green skinny jeans or a sexy skater dress and a black leather jacket for an iconic grunge-inspired look. The Veronica Combat boots are priced at $380

Natalie Engineer Short

For those big sweater, legging clad days when you can’t be bothered, the Frye Natalie Engineer Short boots are the ideal footwear. Its slip on and off design is perfect for when you just want to quickly pull on a pair of comfortable city boots on your way out of your apartment.

Natalie Engineer Short boot features smooth vegan Italian leather, a side buckle, and Goodyear welting for durability. The thick rubber outsole has deep indentations, providing excellent traction and solid footing. A shearling lining adds extra comfort to these industrial-chic boots.

Combine these Frye Engineer boots with comfy leggings, an oversized turtleneck, and a matching beanie for cozy cold-weather vibes. The Natalie Engineer Short booties retail for $475.

Paige Tall Riding

The Paige Tall Riding boots are all about equestrian chic. Featuring an overlapping front panel and intricate stitching, these boots are made out of a stunning leather that’s been washed and antiqued for a more vintage look. A notched backing adds some additional style details.

Frye Boots Mens Review

Frye Boots Mens Review

The mens Frye boots category has an array of styles to choose from, whether you’re aiming for a cowboy, lumberjack, or urban aesthetic.

Frye designs men’s lace-up boots, Chelsea boots, Western boots, and boots for cold weather. This Frye boots review will go over some of their most popular styles within this category.

Conway Harness

The Conway Harness boots have a cool Victorian steampunk meets cowboy look. The boots are quite subtle, with only a harness ring attached with conjoining straps on the side as a stylish detail. The leather is stonewashed to give it that antique, well-worn look

The Conway Harness boots from Frye are square toed and have a leather and rubber outsole with a rubber heel cap for added durability and traction. Plus, the harness accent on the ankle for an additional Western look.

These boots feature a Goodyear welted construction with a snap button harness ring. That way, you can easily slip them on and off by using the inside zipper. It is also designed with a snub toe and comes with leather lining and a stacked leather heel. The Frye Conway Harness boot costs $544

Prison Boot

The Frye Prison Boot reminds us of Andy Dufresne from Shawshank Redemption. Orange jumpsuits aren’t exactly the best look, so well worn boots like these are a better kind of tough. The goal here is to look intimidating, without actually committing any crimes.

The Prison Boot has leather lacing with metal eyelets, an interior leather lining, and its oil-resistant rubber outsole provides traction and added durability. Also, the boots feature a polished stonewash leather upper that has been tumbled in stones in a wooden drum and then polished for a well-worn look.

Featuring washed-out leather, these Frye Prison Boots are part of the brand’s Made in the USA collection. These lace-up boots have Goodyear welted construction and are perfect for matching that rugged vintage aesthetic. If you want the Frye Prison Boot, you’ll be fined $516

Campus 14L

If Woodstock and bell-bottom jeans tickle your fancy, the Frye Campus 14L boots are an homage to the iconic period of 60s fashion. Frye actually manufactured them at the cusp of the 1960s. Signifying the American values of rebellion and freedom, these boots are made for peace, not war.

The Campus 14L boot is handcrafted with a crunch leather upper and has a Goodyear welt construction for durability. The smooth leather lining, specially formulated insole, and stacked leather heel add comfort and cushioning that feels like a second skin. Plus, the leather outsole has a rubber heel tab for added traction.

These boots are made out of Frye’s signature Montana leather that they place in a big vat with dark colors and hung dry for a ‘crunch effect.’ Go for a more modern 60s look with some acid-washed skinny jeans, a band tee, and some hippie sunglasses. The Frye Campus 14L boots cost $54

Bowery Chelsea

The Bowery Chelsea boot is perfect for everyday wear at the office or for your occasional outing or hike. With the black and stonewash design, these boots can bring your casual look some elevated style and character.

With the signature Goodyear welted construction, rubber-injected lug soles, the convenient pull tab at the back, and the elasticated side panels help for easy pull on. Plus, the Bowery Chelsea boots have a built-in leather lining, cushioned leather footbed, and a leather outsole for added comfort and durability.

If you are looking for a quality boot that stands the test of time, while also providing comfort for all-day wear, the Bowery Chelsea boot is currently on sale for $350

Please bring back the original women’s Campus boots from the 70s with the stitched design and chunky heel that were featured in magazine articles. I’d buy them with a quickness. Had a pair that got stolen. Right now my favorite pair are the 150th anniversary Americana 15r boots.
