The first product in this Insta360 review is one of the most impressive action cameras on the market. The Insta360 One X2 brandishes so many features that you might think it’s a gift from your long-last dad who’s trying to make up for all your birthdays that he missed.

The Insta360 One X2’s most adored function is its 360-degree camera. This is a huge plus for people who like to record themselves when they’re running, biking, or doing other movement-based activities because it removes the need for you to position the camera correctly. 

This device captures everything around you. After you’re done recording, you can select keyframes so that you only see what you want to see.

Artificial intelligence plays a huge role in this camera’s success, accomplishing tasks like editing footage to selecting the most-noteworthy stills from your recording.

The Insta360 Go 2 has a wealth of protective features that open up new filming possibilities. It’s waterproof up to 13 feet so you can take it swimming with you. 

It also has FlowState filming technology, a stabilizing process that steadies your footage so you shouldn’t experience motion blur or unwanted bouncing. I should note that most, if not all, of the items in this Insta360 review possess this feature.

Another advantage to picking up the Insta360 Go 2 is that it retains the same horizon alignment regardless of how much you tilt it. Picture it this way, it’s as if the world is moving around the camera instead of the camera moving inside the world. 

“This is a HUGE step up from the older version. If you’re familiar with Insta360 cameras they all use one app. The older model had its own separate app. What really stood out to me about this camera is the longer video it could capture. The Insta360 One R specifically received praise from Wired, and when you see what it can do, it’s pretty obvious that it deserves that praise. 

This device features many of the best Insta360 specs like FlowState stabilization, an invisible selfie stick, hyper-lapse, and auto-framing, but it’s the dual-action lenses that separate it from the pack.

See, this camera has two different image-capturing modes. There’s a 360-degree camera that functions similarly to the Insta360 One X2. This camera captures footage in 5.7k resolution and uses artificial intelligence to make your videos crisp. It fills in the gaps of muddy pixels to sharpen and brighten images.

The other function is the super-wide 4k 60fps lens, which is exactly what it sounds like. You can record huge sweeping shoots in a stunning resolution that runs as smooth as butter. 

Oh, and the Insta360 One R has a marvelous AI-powered tracking feature that recognizes voice to keep subjects at the center of a shot. It doesn’t matter if you’re snowboarding down the alps, running a marathon, or recording a workout in a busy gym, the Insta360 One R can ensure that all eyes remain on you. Here’s what one customer wrote about this product: 

“This camera lets me capture everything without having to worry about missing anything. The main reason you’d want to go with the Insta360 Go instead of its follow-up that I spoke about earlier is the price. It’s cheaper, though it seems that you can’t purchase it through Insta360’s website.

That being said, you won’t be skimping out on too much if you decide to go with it. It still packs a wallop in regard to how much it can do: time-lapses are a breeze, editing is practically child’s play, and your shots should remain stable.

It’s also IPX4 water-resistant so you can (and should) take it swimming with you. One Amazon Insta360 review writer wrote the following review: 

“I’ve been looking forward to this camera! It’s small and packs a punch. The box comes with all you see here: charger, cables, mounts, etc. I’ll be using this to make quick recap edits of my adventures. The self-editing in this camera is pretty unique. I’m pretty lazy when it comes to editing, so I’m super happy it has this feature. The quality and stabilization is great as well.”

Insta360 One RS Review

The next item in this Insta360 review is perhaps the best image-capturing device thus far when taking raw footage into context. 

That’s because the Insta360 One RS uses active HDR to stabilize and balance videos. This means your footage should have brighter colors, more pronounced shadows, and a smooth flow.

The Insta360 One RS also makes strides to improve audio capturing, which isn’t something that many action cameras specialize in. The extra microphone can pick up more sound from better angles, plus it has a wind reduction feature to cut through the white noise that’d distort your final product.

The last thing I want to mention about this camera is that can make your life much easier when it comes to filming. You can zoom in extremely quickly for close-up shots. Additionally, you can list all your favorite filming presets in one organized menu.

Insta360 Sphere Review

Drones are all the rage these days, so I couldn’t help but include at least one in this Insta360 review. The Insta360 Sphere solves a common issue with drones, that being that they sometimes enter the shot like a boom mic dropping down in a movie shot. 

The Insta360 Sphere circumvents this with intentionally placed lenses that prevent the drone from entering the shot. These lenses are also placed well enough that they can capture 360 degrees of footage in 5.7k.

This drone also comes with sticky lens protectors to keep dust, debris, and leaves out of your camera. 

You can pick up the Insta360 Sphere by itself for $430. Before you do, read what this buyer wrote about it: “Amazing product! [Love] the shots it takes and the results from the software. It’s almost like flying an FPV at times. It’s as if the drone wasn’t even there giving Superman’s POV.”

Now then, let’s get some of the not-so-good out of the way before I get back to the good stuff. 

Despite all these great scores, there were some negative Insta360 reviews. Some of these were critiques of the products themselves while others were centered on the brand’s customer service.

The first of these complaints, those regarding the products themselves, are a bit easier to explain. 

Simply put, not every item is going to satisfy every customer. To some people, the brand’s products (like those in this Insta360 review) weren’t to their liking for one reason or another, and that’s totally okay.

What could use some improvements are the complaints regarding Insta360’s customer service. These reports mentioned that they spoke with bots or pre-programmed customer service responses rather than real humans.

But with the complaints out of the way, allow me to focus on what customers loved about Insta360. Some buyers said that the brand did reach out to help them when things went awry. That’s what this buyer wrote in their positive review on Trust Pilot:

“I bought the camera (insta360 one x2) and Fedex was trying to mess up my delivery. Well, that was not possible when Chloe from insta360 was helping – she organised and solved my problem with Fedex within a day, finding a solution that worked for me, and camera came two days earlier than predicted! I love the customer service, patience and quick efficient help.”

Besides that, most positive Insta360 reviews centered on the quality of the products. In short, people loved the footage these cameras captured.

“One of the absolute best cameras I’ve ever owned. It is fun and portable, so I never miss a moment. This is mainly my recording camera, though with the lens, I have been getting creative with stills, opening up the possibilities of what I thought possible with this camera. Wifi connectivity is great and the updates have dramatically improved its performance.” wrote one buyer on Best Buy.

In fact, many people favorably compared their Insta360 products to other similar items by other companies, saying that Insta360 outclassed them. To prove that point, I’ve included one final Insta360 review from a customer on Best Buy’s website.

“This is the first action cam that doesn’t overheat on me and shut down when recording in 4k.  The 360 lenses allow you to take some amazing video and pictures. “

Is Insta360 Legit?

The customer service complaints do make me feel a bit uneasy about Insta360, so I’d recommend buying from another source rather than the company itself. Other than that, I think the brand’s products are a solid choice.
