Overview of NEST

NEST Fragrances Review

Founded in 2005, NEST’s creator Laura Slatkin already had ample experience in the scent industry with her former home fragrance company, Slatkin & Co. From the NEST headquarters in New York, the brand continues to develop new, creative fragrances to delight their customers. They are also heavily involved in Autism Awareness and Research, founding NEXT for Autism and working alongside many similar charities.

NEST Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

NEST Fragrances Review

We looked at a variety of NEST fragrances reviews to help you see what people think of the brand. In this section, you’ll find real evaluations sourced from the brand’s website, Amazon, and Sephora.

The Pura Smart Home Fragrance Diffuser has been rated with 4/5 stars out of over 170 customers on the brand’s official website. Depending on which scent you pick, the results of this diffuser vary: for some, the scent is either too light or too heavy, but the majority think it’s just right.

One reviewer of the diffuser and available NEST scents is pleased with the product and writes “love the fragrances especially the grapefruit. The bamboo is nice but very light. Love the concept of [the] app.”

Another NEST fragrances review wasn’t pleased with the strength of the diffuser, writing, “this one do[es] not work, you can barely smell the aroma, you need to be very close to smell the fragrance.”

Amazon has the largest amount of customer ratings by far, especially evident with the NEST Bamboo Candle receiving 4.6/5 stars out of a whopping 10,365 reviews. Other notable customer favorites include,

  • Grapefruit Reed Diffuser: 4.5/5 stars, nearly 7,950 reviews
  • Bamboo Reed Diffuser Liquid Refill: 4.5/5 stars, nearly 6,800 reviews
  • Amalfi Lemon & Mint Classic Candle: 4.6/5 stars, over 10,300 reviews
  • Moroccan Amber Reed Diffuser Liquid Refill: 4.5/5 stars, over 6,700 reviews

Customers on Amazon seem to love their NEST products. One comment goes into more detail about the Bamboo Candle, writing “This candle is fantastic. For a one-wick soy-based candle, I couldn’t be more impressed. It burns clean. The throw is noticeable throughout my home, which is two stories. I am sensitive to strong fragrances, but this candle fragrance does not bother me.”

On Sephora, ratings are generally favorable towards NEST, averaging out to over 4/5 stars on many of their available products. Unfortunately, there are some complaints about their perfumes. One negative review is dismayed, and writes “It is the perfect scent that doesn’t last for more than three hours for an extremely high price!!

All in all, most customers appear to enjoy their NEST products and all the amazing scents offered. Sense of smell can be delicate and vary from person to person, so it’s no surprise that the same fragrance can be too subtle or strong depending on who you ask. Many reviews are satisfied with the brand, even at the higher price point.

Is NEST Worth It?

NEST Fragrances Review

This NEST fragrance review appreciates the brand’s unique line of scents, bringing some variety into a market saturated with similar smells. What some customers may not completely enjoy is that the company uses synthetic fragrances for more diversity. Although natural scents are always more preferable, we understand why they sometimes use science-based ingredients.

The company’s products can get pricey, but one look at the presentation is all it takes to see that this is an effective luxury brand. Their candles are quite large, allowing for 50-60 hours of burn time. The diffusers have gorgeous bottles, making them as much of an artistic statement piece as they are a home-filling scent.

The brand also has ways that help their customers save, including discounts and free shipping. Their charitable work on Autism research is also a big plus. That being said, this NEST fragrances review sees value in their mood-lifting and daydream-inspiring products and believes they are worth the buy.

Question: I bought the Lemon Mint Diffuser because I thought it would look pretty on the end of my mantel, and lemon seemed like it would be nice and fresh. The scent is very strong. I had to put it in a guest bedroom and will need to remove it when the room is being used. Just walking by the room you smell the strong scent which does not smell like lemon. Without pouring out all of the liquid, is there a way to minimize the scent without removing the sticks? Would love to have it back in the living room. Thank you.
