In 2005, Birgit Klett and Kenna Florie met while working at Quiksilver, the surf lifestyle brand. Klett worked designing in the footwear division and Florie worked in marketing.
After 26 years of experience in designing shoes for companies like Sam Edelman and Esprit de Corp, Klett knew that she could do something special if left to her own devices.
In 2015, Klett and Florie launched beek in LA with sandals that are feminine, durable, timeless, and comfortable with molded arch support.
beek shoes are designed in LA and hand-made in Mexico out of vegetable-dyed leather. As they are made by hand, each pair takes 48 hours to create and each has its own imperfections making it one-of-a-kind.
To give back to the community, beek donates three meals per pair of footwear sold.

beek Sandals Review
beek sandals are a collection of around 90 styles and colors to choose from. Each is made with a vegetable-tanned, slim, feminine sole with arch support. The leather sole molds to your foot after a bit of wear for a comfortable fit even when spending all day in them.
Two signature, hand-tapped nailheads adorn the side of every beek sole. This next section of my beek review will give a little love to a couple of this brand’s best-selling sandals.
beek Gallito Platinum Review
As their first molded footbed style, the beek Gallito remains their best-selling sandal. This leather slider has the comfort and femininity of the beek design with memory foam nestled between the leather lining and the leather molded arched sole.
They come in sizes 5-11, with sizing up suggested if you are a half size.
As their most popular sandal, the beek Gallito comes in your choice of more than 20 colors. In platinum, their shiny finish can dress up any outfit and are comfortable to wear all day long.
The wideband is also leather, handcrafted for softness and comfort. Ideal with pants, shorts, or a skirt, you can slide into a pair of these sandals for $240.

beek shoes are a collection of booties, clogs, and slippers that are all fleece-lined and have beek’s signature double nailheads hand-tapped into the sides of the soles.
They come in sizes 5-12 with some half sizes available. While I’d love to take a look at each and every one of their fantastic shoes, this section of my beek review will check out a couple of their absolute best-sellers.
beek Quail Saddle Ankle Boots Review
According to their website, the beek Quail booties were designed by, and for, the owners to fulfill their own need for a comfortable and feminine leather shoe.
Their indulgence is to our benefit, as these 1 ⅜” heels with arch support and soft heel cups are simply dressed up or down in three neutral colors – saddle (tan), chocolate, or black.
The beek Quail fit true to size and have a zipper with a large finger ring for easy access. To add a little extra flair and feminine touch, they have a pleat across the ankle crease of the ultrasoft leather upper as well as a vee at the back of the neck.

beek Puffin Black Shoes Review
Part slipper and part shoe, the beek Puffin in black or saddle are ideal with pants of all lengths. Created of soft and flexible leather they are kind of like a short, lined pair of Peter Pan shoes.
By this, I mean that where the front and back parts of the upper meet, it forms a vee. They also have no heel cups or toe cups to create stiffness and take away from their comfort.
These shoes should fit tightly to start so size down a half size. They will loosen as the uppers and sole form to the shape of your foot.
As one of the least feminine but one of the most comfortable of their footwear, you can enjoy these shoes during the cooler Spring and Autumn weather for $375.
