Farfetch is a luxury e-commerce clothing store that carries notable brands like Burberry, Fendi, Gucci, Versace, Balenciaga, and more. This fashion-forward company prides itself with being up to date with the season’s latest trends while carrying pre-owned, curated designer items.

With a following of over 2.3 million, Farfetch is one the world’s leading high fashion brands in the industry today. This Farfetch clothing review will go into depth by taking a look at their brand, a selection of bestsellers, customer ratings, and more to help you decide if it’s worth adding them to your wardrobe.

Overview of Farfetch

Farfetch Clothing Review

What is Farfetch? The answer is simple, a company born out of love for fashion. José Neves founded Farfetch in 2007 and launched the company in the following year. Starting out as an e-commerce website that sold items from 25 boutiques globally, Farfetch expanded it’s marketplace by selling over 1,200 brands to customers in over 190 countries. In 2010, they opened their first headquarters in Los Angeles, California.

“We believe in empowering individuality. Our mission is to be the global technology platform for luxury fashion, connecting creators, curators and consumers.”

Farfetch continues to grow their brand by launching business units such as Browns and Black & White. While there is no Farfetch physical retail store, they’ve partnered up with Chanel to create a customized augmented retail experience in Chanel’s boutiques. As of September 2018, Farfetch launched its IPO in New York City. Before this Farfetch clothing review goes any deeper, let’s look at a sum up of pros and cons:

Farfetch Women

Farfetch Clothing Review

Farfetch makes it easy for customers by offering different ways of perusing their inventory. Buyers can explore their page by designer, aesthetic, types of clothing, and sustainability. Farfetch carries fashion pieces for women, men and even children. They carry clothing such as beachwear, dresses, jackets, lingerie, tops and more. They also include bags, jewelry, shoes and other accessories.

While Farfetch has an expansive wardrobe for women, this Farfetch clothing review will highlight a selection of bestsellers for ladies.

Balmain Logo Button T-Shirt

A classic logo tee is a solid way to rep your favorite brand. The Balmain Logo Button T-Shirt is the perfect combination of laid back luxury. Showcasing the Balmain logo in stark white on a backdrop of black, there’s an added element of interest on the shoulder area where there are three silver buttons fastening the t-shirt.

This t-shirt hails from the Parisian designer brand, Balmain. This high fashion company is known for producing elegant garments and avant garde streetwear. I can see their style reflected in this t-shirt design. Made out of a soft cotton material, this timeless number is flattering with it’s round neck cut and it’s slim fit.

Tuck the Balmain Logo Button T-Shirt into some acid wash white jeans or dark skinny jeans for a complete look. This Balmain beauty retails for $495

Ancient Greek Sandals

It’s said that Aphrodite herself doned these Ancient Greek Sandals. I mean, maybe she didn’t, but there’s got to be an unwritten, God sent rule that Greek sandals are a must in your summer wardrobe. These gold string flip flops have a lining of 100% quality leather. They feature a flat rubber sole for added comfort and are worn by fastening the small ropes around your ankle.

These goddess inspired sandals are exclusively part of Farfetch’s own collection. With these shoes belonging to the brand’s summer season wardrobe, it pairs perfectly with their entourage of cute summer dresses, shorts and skirts. If you’re going for that Aphrodite look, adorn these golden flip flops with a Grecian inspired dress. Grab a pair of these heavenly Ancient Greek Sandals by New Season for $230

Gigi Clozeau 18k Rose Gold- Beaded Anklet

Anklets are always understated when it comes to jewelry as necklaces, earrings and bracelets tend to steal the spotlight every time. Case in point, the Gigi Clozeau 18k Rose Gold Beaded Anklet brings the limelight back to footwear jewelry. Featuring delicate black resin beads on a chain of rose gold links, this flirty anklet will put a spark in your step.

This alluring anklet is made from the brand Gigi Clozeau, a jeweller trained in the south of France and is known for her simplistic and beautiful designs. On the brand’s about page, it states that “She knows how to transmit her emotions through her jewelry. Each piece of jewelry, each collection has a story.”

Anklets are great jewelry pieces if you can’t pinpoint what’s missing in your outfit. They can bring some much needed class and elegance to your get up. Dress up a jeans, t-shirt and sneakers combo with this rose gold accent around your ankle. Or, you can further elevate the summer dress and heeled sandal look with the Gigi Clozeau 18k Rose Gold Beaded Anklet . Make this anklet a go-to for $307

BY FAR Mini Rachel Crocodile-Effect Shoulder Bag

Animal print is all the rage nowadays. There’s something to be said about the iconic snakeskin or crocodile pattern, as it practically screams sexy upper class. With that being said, the By Far Mini Rachel Crocodile-Effect Shoulder Bag is definitely on trend. This small crocodile leather shoulder bag is perfect for carrying only the necessities. Featuring a chunky, silver metal chain as an accent, this purse has a subtly exotic look to it.

This crocodile-effect shoulder bag is from By Far, an Australian fashion brand that’s heavily inspired by the late nineties to the early 2000s. Animal print was extremely popular in both those periods, but don’t mistake this bag as an outdated look. As you might have already observed through Instagram and especially TikTok, the 90s aesthetic is making a comeback.

If you aren’t sure on how to style something as loud as this animal print shoulder bag, try pairing it with a dark wash denim skirt and a crew neck white tee. For some needed 90s reinforcement, slip on a pair of chunky white sneakers and a matching bucket hat. Are you sold on this look, because I am. Snag the for $488

Farfetch Men

Farfetch’s inventory for men is just as expansive and premium as the women’s section. They have the same categories for clothing, alongside activewear, polo-shirts, trousers, denim, coats and other. They also have a vast array of Farfetch shoes such as boots, loafers, sandals and an entire sub category for different kinds of sneakers. Bags and accessories such as hats and belts and watches are also sold in the men’s section.

This Farfetch Clothing review can go on and on, but check out some of the bestsellers for guys:

Burberry Monogram Motif T-Shirt

Maybe logo tees aren’t your thing. You want something that’s a nod to your favorite fashion brand or designer. Burberry is one of those iconic brands in the high fashion game. With that in mind, the Burberry Monogram Motif T-Shirt is something you should consider adding to your cart.

Made out of 100% white cotton with an embroidered Burberry logo at the chest, this is the perfect white tee to own in your closet. Keep it casual by pairing it with some black track pants, a classic army green bomber jacket, and a baseball cap. It’s the quintessential streetwear look without going for the full hypebeast vibe.

Prices for this item vary depending on the size, but if luxury basics are your thing, maybe this $317 Burberry Monogram Motif T-Shirt is right up your alley.

Paige Croft Skinny Jeans

The Paige Croft Skinny Jeans are an example of why the skinny jean is a fashion staple. Made out of a combination of rayon, cotton, polyester, spandex and elastane, this semi stretch jean will do the job in hugging your waist and slimming your legs in the most flattering way possible. The mid rise pant keeps it casual with its light wash hue.

This model of skinny jeans is part of Farfetch’s own collection. I’m pretty sure you know how to style skinny jeans, but here are some extra pointers for styling them. Cuff the jeans where your ankle is so it looks like pants are tailored to your height. Additionally, try French tucking your tops into the jeans in order to define your waistline. With these tips in mind, give the Paige Croft Skinny Jeans a try for $505

Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Black Satin/Gym Red

Continuing down the line of fashion trends, Air Jordan shoes are no exception. The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Black Satin/Gym Red are old-school. These authentically inspected Air Jordans “continues Jordan Brand’s dedicated focus of shifting Michael Jordan’s first signature model toward the lifestyle footwear category.”

This model features a soft black leather encompassing the toe, forefoot and eyelet area. There are panels of gray tones, which serve as the background for the iconic Nike swoosh in black and the red wings logo. For some contrast, the shoes are tied together in bright red laces and are complete with a stark white midsole.

Made out of 100% rubber for the sole, it combines a mixture of leather and polyamide material for the outside. These Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Black Satin/Gym Red will definitely pass the test of time. Prices vary depending on the size customers pick. But for size 11.5, you can rep the Air Jordans for $309

Gucci Leather Belt With Double G Buckle

This Gucci Leather Belt with Double G Buckle is everywhere on Instagram. It’s a subtle way of flexing, without going all guns ablaze with head to toe Gucci. Nevertheless, this belt is not only functional in keeping your pants up, but adds a nice touch of detail with the double Gs brass hardware. Made out of a smooth Italian leather in black, this belt is a wardrobe basic.

You can play it simple by fastening it to a regular pair of jeans. Or, for some extra style points, pair it with a monochrome outfit composed of dress pants, an Oxford sweater, a matching trench coat, and an added scarf. That way, the Gucci emblem won’t be so obvious in your outfit as an outward brag, you’re aiming for subtle brag, you feel? Get this iconic Gucci Leather Belt with Double G Buckle for $575.

Farfetch Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Farfetch Clothing Review

Is Farfetch legit? A majority of customers seem to think so. On the company’s review page, most buyers rate their experiences on an average of 4.7/5 stars. For Trustpilot, Farfetch earns a 3.7 rating. For positive reviews, a comment that came up consistently was how fast orders came in and how big their designer selection is. “Farfetch is my favorite place to shop– reliable, great sales, fast shipping, and the best designer selection around!” Rachel, a Trustpilot reviewer, said

In terms of Farfetch customer service, there are a few notable reviews that seem to raise some red flags. Some customers detail disappointing customer service experiences, specifically on orders that were delayed or out of stock. Additionally, a good chunk of negative reviews have commented that they received the wrong type of clothing or the wrong size. One customer details her experience in tracking her lost order “I never received a refund or my shoes. Do not order from them,” said Kristina, a Trustpilot reviewer. “Their customer service is awful and good luck receiving your items.”

Is Farfetch Worth It?

Farfetch Clothing Review

On the topic of prices, I’m not entirely sure if customers are saving a lot of money by shopping at Farfetch than other luxury e-commerce retailers. Prices seem to be on the same level on sites like Net-a-Porter. However, it’s a good thing that Farfetch includes a sale outlet, where customers can get discounts of up to 60% off. The Second Life program is also a great way to put cash toward future purchases. In terms of customer reviews that dealt with receiving wrong orders, I would take a grain of salt ordering from them, especially when you are shopping from expensive luxury brands.

Overall, Farfetch is a good website in terms of it’s massive collection of designer clothing. Customers can shop by their current aesthetic in fashion, or shop exclusively in the brand they like. I especially love that they have a ‘positively conscious’ category on their website, where customers can see what brands and styles are ethically and environmentally made. It’s tempting to order from their store in terms of the glowing customer reviews on fast shipping. If you are going to buy something as expensive as a Hermès bag, it’s only natural that you want it delivered right away.

Farfetch Promotions & Discounts

Farfetch Clothing Review

This Farfetch clothing review found a few ways that customers can save money by shopping on their website. Buyers can shop in their sale category where they can get discounts as much as 60% off. Currently, Farfetch is offering an extra 20% of certain items, including those on sale.

For those still in school, students can receive a 10% discount by entering their discount code. In terms of a Farfetch promo code or a Farfetch coupon, I did not come across any on their website, but keep checking for developments.

Orders are delivered on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Express delivery and same delivery are available at some selected locations. Depending on the customer’s location, Farfetch offers a flat rate shipping fee for thresholds detailed on their website, which means that customers can purchase multiple items from multiple locations for one shipping fee.

Farfetch offers these shipping rates with approximate times of delivery:

  • DHL Express: Most of Europe and USA: delivery within 2-4 days; rest of the world: delivery within 3-7 days

If customers are ordering within their own customs zone, they may not be tasked to pay import duties, but may need to pay VAT or local taxes. For those in the U.S. or UK, these will be included in the checkout.

This Farfetch clothing review found out that customers will also receive a tracking number with their delivery. Additionally, Farfetch offers what they call their ‘F90 Service’ which allows buyers to shop at their store and receive their order within 90 minutes. This is only available in a few select locations. This option is only open on Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 7 p.m. For customized orders, manufacturing lead times will vary.

Farfetch Return Policy

Farfetch has a simple guide for those who want to return their orders. Here is a quick step by step list of how to complete a Farfetch return:

  1. Sign into your Farfetch account and go to ‘orders & returns.’ If you placed an order as a guest, you will need to input in your order number and email address.
  2. Choose the item you wish to return
  3. Place the item in its original packaging
  4. Attach the return label onto your package

This Farfetch clothing review found that they offer a returns pick-up program. Farfetch returns must arrive at a company partner boutique which are ordered no later than 14 days after your delivery date. To book a return pick-up, customers must sign into their account and access ‘order & returns’ (or input their order number and email address). Choose a return ‘by courier’ and select their item for return. Lastly, customers must confirm their address and a suitable collection time.

The company’s return policy details that items must be unworn and not damaged. This also includes pre-owned items. Products must come with the price tags and packaging given. Customized items are not eligible for return.

horrible service

We have a very frustrating issue with Farfetch. Two items were ordered on-line (order# 25VFGZ); one item was a blouse, the other a wallet. Both items were returned, but separately, in December 2020. To request the returning of items, Farfetch directs the buyer to enter a return request via their website. Jane, the buyer, did this for each of the two items. Farfetch subsequently sent Jane “Free collection booking confirmation” emails – one for each item – informing her when DHL will arrive for pick up. The emails instructed Jane on how to package the return, which required attaching the Return Label and signed Returns Notice to the outside of the box and presenting the open package to the courier. No instruction was given that Jane should make a copy of any of the documents or obtain a receipt or any sort of evidence that the courier received the package. Farfetch contracted with DHL, not Jane.

Jane followed the packaging instructions Farfetch provided, and each item was picked up by DHL on the prescribed dates. Jane is rated by Farfetch as a “Platinum” client; their five tiers are: “Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum or Private Client” and these ratings are assigned based on the amount of spending by the client. Jane has been a customer of Farfetch for over 4 years, having made over 50 purchases. One single item itself had been purchased for over $2,000.

On or about February 1, 2021, Jane contacted Farfetch about the status of the refunds for the two items since she had not been contacted by Farfetch regarding the item’s returns, which were made over 45 days prior. On Feb 9, 2021, Farfetch sent an email to Jane stating that the blouse had been received but that (translated from Simplified Chinese to English), “For another returned product wallet, the following return logistics information corresponding to this product has not been queried in the system at the time. EN DHL has been notified of this situation and investigated: the possibility of missing items is not ruled out.”

This means that Farfetch had not inquired as to the return statuses for over 45 days. They did not bother to do the following:

1.) Follow-up after December 14, 2020, to determine if their contractor, DHL, had picked up the blouse and wallet.

2.) Inform the buyer in a timely manner of the status of the blouse and wallet returns.

It seems both unprofessional and careless that Farfetch waited until the buyer make an inquiry 45 days later before beginning a determination of the return statuses of the two items. One would expect that any customer – particularly one rated “Platinum” — would receive better customer service than this. But Farfetch seems to have a policy that refunds are ignored until a customer remembers to contact them about it.

Over a month passed with no information from Farfetch regarding the wallet. On or about 3/19/2021, Jane again contacted Farfetch about the wallet return and refund. In reaction to the buyer’s inquiry, Farfetch informed her that the refund on the wallet would not happen. When Jane complained via email, Farfetch responded via email on 3/19/2021, asking Jane for the order number of the wallet. By now, after the previous emails and conversations, this obviously should already be aware to the Farfetch customer service system. This appears to be an attempt to “drag their feet” on the issue.

Nonetheless, Jane supplied the information, and on 3/22/2012, Farfetch sent an email stating that they cannot provide a refund because there are no records from DHL indicating that the item was picked up.

But that would be an issue between DHL and Farfetch since they have the contract; if DHL lost Farfetch property, they should file a claim but refund the money to Jane nonetheless.

Farfetch also stated, since DHL cannot find a record of the pickup, that they would need additional proof from Jane. However, according to Farfetch packaging instructions, no proof is required to be obtained by the person returning items. If Farfetch wants other proof, like signed receipts of pickup, they should have instructed either Jane or DHL to produce it at the time the courier picks up the package. It is common practice when one drops off packages for shipment at delivery services (like USPS, UPS, FedEx) to be given a receipt of shipment, so why not also provide a receipt to the sender when the delivery service picks up at one’s address? If it is DHL’s normal practice to not provide a receipt, then that is also an issue between Farfetch and DHL and should not penalize the customer.

Farfetch also commented that the investigation period for the wallet had expired. Jane reminded them that if they meant that too much time had passed (expired) to continue this issue, then that was because they ignored her requests for over a month.

(As a side note, but as an indication of how incompetent Farfetch customer service is, another order (9B9ZAN) for Jane was lost in transit by the courier. Eventually, Farfetch agreed that the order was never delivered because it was lost. Farfetch refunded the money to Jane. However, over a month later, on 3/25/21, Farfetch customer service informed Jane, “We’re sorry we can’t refund your order 9B9ZAN – SLR120457660. Unfortunately, your order 9B9ZAN is out of the investigation period. Our internal teams and the courier are unable to conduct the investigation due to the extent of time that has passed. We’re therefore unable to issue the refund.” But, as mentioned, the refund was already made over a month ago.)

So, what is more likely here? That a “Platinum” customer for over 4 years who has purchased thousands of dollars in products suddenly wants to cheat them out of a $380 wallet? Or did the Farfetch supplier, DHL, simply lose the package?

I believe the answer is obvious. I suggest that Farfetch realize the flaw inherent in both their and DHL’s system and reimburse Jane for the return she made in good faith. Another option, of course, is to settle this issue in small claims court.

It was the Farfetch company perfect for me?
Between 5 and 14 Nov 2020 this company with four hypothetical
sales overloaded my credit card with the amount of €7,085.00.
And without I ever having any contact with this company before!
