Endorsed by UFC President Dana White, Howler Head Whiskey is the drink of choice for UFC champs. They manufacture their alcohol at Green River Distilling Co. in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Whiskey is a hardcore choice for those new to alcohol. Most recommend sweet drinks, such as white wine or a fruity cocktail. But for people who want to impress their fellow aficionados by selecting the strongest blend of the bunch, Howler Head Whiskey can act as your best-kept secret. It’s infused with a hint of banana to help make the tasting experience more bearable.

Traditionalists and connoisseurs would typically scoff at the idea of sweetened beverages (especially whiskey) considering their preference for straight-pour refreshments. That said, not all of us claim to be whiskey aficionados, as it’s quite a strong blend.

This unique malt offers a hint of banana, which helps exude a sense of exoticism in an otherwise potent drink.

Aged in an American oak barrel, Howler Head Banana Whiskey is in direct contact with the heady aromatics of the wood itself. It’s further enriched with a #4 alligator char, which provides a deep caramel accent to the drink. Crafted by the Green River Distilling Co., you can relax knowing that this blend is handled by only the pros.

Not fond of the on-the-rocks approach? Thankfully, the brand offers cocktail recipes on its website. Blends include espresso martinis, the King, and beer bombs. They’re quite easy to make, as each drink only requires a few ingredients.

Considered a great way to spice up dinner parties or charcuterie board evenings, Howler Head Whiskey can act as a refreshing stand-in for traditional red wine.

There’s an obvious age demographic when it comes to alcohol brands. Considering that the brand is located in the U.S, you need to be over 21 to peruse through their selection. Age aside, Howler Head Whiskey is recommended for first-timers and aficionados alike.

It’s considered a more beginner-friendly blend, as it’s sweetened with banana. That said, you don’t have to worry about sugar overload, as this beverage still holds a decent degree of complexity.

Smooth, delicious, and not overly sweet, Howler Head Whiskey gets a stamp of approval from dozens of customers. Tasters reported that it’s easy to drink, which made it all the more tempting to pour seconds or thirds. Others stated that the beverage tasted fine on its own without the need to turn it into a cocktail.

“I was waiting for a while for this stuff to come to Canada and it did not disappoint! After my first sip, all I could [think of] was ‘flavor bomb’! You get a nice taste of the banana right away, then the traditional heat from the bourbon kicks in. Super smooth,” one customer detailed on LCBO. 

One reviewer on Master of Malt shared: “I love bourbons and Irish whiskey. I was a bit apprehensive about what to expect buying this. To keep it short, this was unreal. Flavorsome and not sickly at all.”

Whiskey is an acquired taste. Obviously, not all customers were fond of Howler Head, especially when it came to its banana flavoring. A few buyers weren’t fond of its sweetness, as it took away the complexity of the bourbon.

Others stated that the sugary undertones of the drink were overpowering. That said, you can relax knowing that the number of positive feedback for Howler Head Whiskey trumps the amount of negative press online. These negative reviews were all subjective and not reflective of the brand’s legitimacy.
