About HUE

HUE Review

The most iconic name in tights, HUE’s stockings and leggings have been getting legs noticed since the 1970s. The brand has been the talk of the town from day one, and its legwear is sold in pretty much every major department store.

Garnering a social media community of 200k followers over the years and landing features in top magazines like Shape, Vogue, and Harper’s Bazaar, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t know the name.

If you’re new to the brand, or simply want to learn more before you buy, you’ll find everything you need to know here in this HUE review.

We’ll gab about the brand itself before diving into its best-sellers, customer feedback, promotions, and more. Ready to get stepping? Let’s head in.

Overview of HUE

HUE Review

Founded back in 1978, the folks behind HUE never expected the brand to be such a hit, and yet, they approached legwear as no other company had before—as something to be noticed. Pumping out those vibrant colors the 80s are known for, its collection caught attention and drew people in.

You see, the thing about legwear is all in a feeling. As textural beings, we like to feel before we buy. This holds true, especially for stockings and leggings.

Hands up if you’ve ever passed up on leggings because of their material. HUE’s revolutionary packaging made it so customers could feel the tights in the store—something truly ground-breaking at the time.

Mastering the art of comfort, breathability, and durability, HUE’s tights were one of the first to ever blend spandex with cotton, adding the genius stretch we’ve all come to know and love in our bottoms.

So who’re the brains behind the brand? Sandra Chilewich and Kathy Mosakal who also happened to have an eye for fashion.

HUE Review

They launched the brand after dying Chinese slippers in crazy colors and witnessing the huge response for unexpected and unique fashion. Today, you’ll find a forward-thinking collection that’s always on top of the latest trends. Incorporating must-have elements like opacity, stretch, and tummy control, the line is made with modern women in mind.

This HUE review will get into the brand’s collection in just a few scrolls, but first, let’s stop off at the highlights to get a feel for what’s in store.

  • Wide selection of tights, leggings, and socks
  • Fun and classic colors
  • Sizes XS-XL

In the next part of this HUE review, we’ll talk about the brand’s tights, but it turns out that the company makes much more than the stockings of the past. Serving up leggings in all shapes and forms, along with cozy socks and pajamas, shop this collection, and you’ll be set for all seasons ahead.

HUE Leggings Review

HUE Review

Though we resisted the leggings-as-pants trend for as long as possible (like literally, 5 minutes), when it became a thing 15 years ago, women—also, probably men—around the world jumped for joy, and not just because they were wearing comfortable pants that allowed for it.

The HUE leggings collection has always been at the forefront of trends. You’d never find the see-through, chintzy leggings of yesteryear in their collections. What you will find is modern textures and patterns, length play, and tons of body-friendly styles. Up next, you’ll meet the best-sellers in sizes XS-XL.

HUE Curl Up Waist Ultra Brushed Leggings Review

Brushed fabric is popping up all over the fashion scene. So what’s its deal? Smoother and more breathable than other types of fabrics, it helps you retain heat without making you sweat, which we all know is golden when it comes to looking and feeling cute.

The HUE Curl Up Waist Ultra Brushed Leggings are made from a polyester, rayon, and spandex blend to give them stretch and shape retention. Ideal for casual wear, they feature a foldover waistband you can adjust to your favorite fit.

Available in classic black (was there ever a more figure-flattering color?) you can get a pair on sale right now for $18—they’re normally $40.

HUE Moto Leatherette High Rise Leggings Review

Love the rock-chic look? The HUE Moto Leatherette High Rise Leggings are a killer pick.

They look just like a pair of hot leather pants, fitted with a faux-zipper and button and everything. Only, you just need to pull them on to find your perfect fit since they’re made from polyester and spandex and not a drop of actual leather.

And unlike uncomfortable leather pants that we vainly squeeze ourselves into, these will hug your curves and flatter your waist with a wide waistband to keep things in control. Stretchy with just the right amount of give, you can sit, breathe, and relax in these rad babes.

Grab a pair on sale for $26 (was $58).

HUE Socks Review

HUE Review

The older we get, the more we realize what an amazing gift quality socks are. And we don’t just mean as presents—well-made socks in general. Especially when the sock drawer is magically bare from what can only be a ravenous washing machine and you’re left with the thin, dollar store pair you bought in a rush.

What makes a quality sock? It’s all about material, stretch, comfort, and support. Since HUE mastered that with its tights and leggings, it only made sense that they apply the same tech to their sock collection. Check out the best-sellers up next.

HUE Rubber Boot Knee Sock Review

Why does the HUE Rubber Boot Knee Sock matter? As soon as you go out in a rainstorm, you’ll know. Made to stay up on your knee despite the brutal walk to work, they won’t slide down as you hop around puddles and dash away from car splashes.

Made from a polyester and spandex material, these HUE socks have just the right amount of stretch to be comfortable and stay secure. Of course, the elastic cuff makes sure of that too. Fitted with rubber on the bottoms, they help your feet catch a grip in boots with slippery soles.

They come in one-size-fits-all for $10.

HUE Tweed Ribbed Boot Sock Review

Socks are an integral part of boot-wearing. Ever worn peds with knee-high boots? Something just feels off, not to mention your poor ankles are vulnerable to icy drafts.

The HUE Tweed Ribbed Boot Sock has an ultra-cozy look. So cozy you may find yourself wearing these around the house. Available in packs of two, you’ll get two complimentary colors per set across grey, dark brown, blush, and tan colorways.

As for the fabric, well, let’s just say your foot will thank you. Made from a blend of cotton, acrylic, nylon, and spandex, you can grab a pair of these breathable, soft socks for $13.

HUE Pajamas Review

HUE Review

Sleepwear is a mood all on its own. There’s a reason we all have a collection of matching sets and a special drawer reserved just for it.

Comfortable, cozy, and on-trend, HUE pajamas are made in dreamy colors and patterns so you can love what you wear even on the couch. Up next, you’ll read all about the brand’s best-selling set.

HUE Cloud Tiedye Cocktails Long Sleeve PJ Set Review

HUE Opaque Tights Review

Everyone should have at least one good pair of tights in their closet. It should be the HUE Opaque Tights, and here’s why.

Unlike so many other pairs out there, these are durable and can stand up to a sharp nail or two. Sleek and stretchy, they’re made from a nylon and spandex blend with a non-control fit.

Elevate your favorite outfits with a pair for $15.

Who Is HUE For?

HUE Review

HUE may have a youthful, feminine vibe, but its leggings and tights can be worn by any gender of any age. Making outfits easy-peasy, the brand’s collection is thoughtful and offers tummy control, breathable fabrics, and styles that stretch and fit.

HUE makes sizes from XS to XL for its regular line, but you’ll find girls, maternity, and a few plus-size styles up to 2X.

HUE Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

HUE Review

As soon as you step into a pair of this brand’s tights, you’ll know the difference they make. If you haven’t been able to do that yet, this part of our HUE review is here to help. We’ve rounded up ratings and comments from around the web and compiled them all here for easy reference.

Our first stop? Nordstrom to check out the Ultra Wide Waistband Leggings that come so highly recommended. Earning 4.5/5 stars from 2,100+ shoppers, check out how that score breaks down below:

  • 5 stars: 77%
  • 4 stars: 13%
  • 3 stars: 5%
  • 2 stars: 3%
  • 1 star: 2%

We’re obsessed with the comments section on Nordstrom and the stories we read there—just about as obsessed as customers are with these leggings. From older women to taller women, the consensus is that not only do these leggings fit, but they also totally cover, they’re long and flattering, and they look awesome.

Take this glowing HUE review: “I’m an older gal with all the problems that go along with that.. Not quite as solid or shapely and those ever present bumps…These leggings are great for me…I look smooth, shapely, and feel confident with a tunic top to go anywhere I please.

Finding a quality pair of leggings is like finding gold. There are a lot of bad leggings out there. Trust us, we’ve done the leg work. From what we’ve read, these are far from the crowd.

HUE Review

Our next bit of feedback comes from Amazon and is for the HUE Opaque Tights. There, 4,332 shoppers awarded them 4.4/5 stars. Here’s how that score breaks down:

  • 5 stars: 71%
  • 4 stars: 13%
  • 3 stars: 7%
  • 2 stars: 4%
  • 1 star: 5%

With a score that speaks volumes, we found one HUE review that did too. It’s from a guy who works in construction and tried everything to keep him warm in the winter months. Apparently, tighter-fitting garments work best. He wrote:

After trying these I now am sold. These work great!! Not too tight, not too loose, but just right. By the way, I am 5ft11 and about 175. You can not go wrong with these. Who the hell cares if they say for woman!! If it works and keeps you warm when you are on top of a building and the wind chill is kicking. What more do I need to say?”

This review is everything. Proving the difference HUE tights make when it comes to staying warm, we love knowing that they stretch well and fit people of all shapes and sizes—not to mention their durability for a man working in construction. Go HUE!

Our final HUE review comes from DSW and is for the Ribbed Boot Socks. With an overall score of 4.7/5 stars from 1,580 buyers, it’s safe to say they’re loved by those who buy them.

HUE Review

What did people like about them so much? Mostly, that they’re plain old good socks. One comment read, “Socks are very soft and comfy. Very thick and good quality.

Another shopper who bought them for work wrote, “I bought my first pair of these a year and a half ago and they’re still like new, these boot socks are my new fav socks.”

When it comes to socks, they need to be comfortable, fit well, and be breathable, and it sounds like the Ribbed Boot Socks do just that. Overall, from every HUE review we read, the brand lived up to our expectations.

People choose this brand because of its reputation, but it’s made such a great name for itself because of the quality, fabrics, and fit of its legwear despite being so affordable.

Is HUE Worth It?

HUE Review

Buying HUE legwear is like a right of passage. It’s the brand moms choose for their daughters’ fun-colored tights and the one they still buy sheer, durable tights for themselves.

With affordable prices, a thoughtful construction, and trendy styles, if it’s comfortable, easy-to-wear legwear you’re looking for, you’ll find it here.
