Overview of LastObject

LastObject Review

On a mission to eliminate the use of single-use products, therefore lessening the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and oceans, LastObject was launched in 2016 in Copenhagen by Isabel Aagaard.

Aagaard was both a designer and an eco-fighter. Bringing her two greatest traits together, she created LastObject, developing a range of products that would solve the wastefulness that came with so many daily habits.

The final idea was clear: that the products will be that last object you’ll ever buy for that specific use. Today, the brand has offices based in Denmark and the US, though the products are also ethically manufactured in Denmark.

The brand is wholly committed to zero waste and sustainability, ensuring that every product is crafted from recycled, ethically sourced materials, produced in safe working conditions, and then shipped completely plastic-free.

Now that you know a little more about the brand’s origins and mission, my LastObject review will check out some of the key highlights to keep in mind.

LastObject Review

The LastObject collection consists of three of the top single-use products in every beauty routine: reusable cotton swabs, cotton rounds, and tissues. The items are zero waste, made from recycled materials, easy to clean, and ultra durable.

All of the products conform to the three main pillars of the brand:

  1. They must mitigate at least 10 times the environmental footprint of their single use alternatives measured as carbon emission
  2. They must have high usability and excellent design
  3. They must be sustainably sourced, manufactured, and shipped

With all that being said, I’ll steer this LastObject review into the details of the top selling products from each category.

LastObject LastSwab Review

Whether you’re touching up your make-up or cleaning your ears, you likely use cotton swabs daily. And while they’re two sided, they often end up in the trash in seconds.

The popular LastObject LastSwab serves as a reusable replacement, and there are even specific options to choose from to suit your needs.

LastObject LastSwab Basic Review

Designed for comfortable ear cleaning, the LastSwab Basic has a strong rod made from polypropylene that is reinforced with glass fiber, and the soft tip ends are crafted from thermoplastic elastomers.

It also comes in a durable travel case made from recycled plastic to ensure you never lose it. The swab can be used up to 1,000 times, replacing 1,000 single-use cotton swabs.

Made for cleaning adult ears, the LastSwab Basic comes in six different color carrying cases and a few different options:

  • 1 pack: $12
  • 4 pack (1 free): $36 (value of $48)
  • 7 pack (2 free): $59 (value of $84)

LastObject LastSwab Beauty Review

Touching up your makeup requires precision, not to mention a soft and gentle touch. Thankfully, the LastSwab Beauty provides both. This swab features a pointed tip, ideal for swiping away mascara and perfecting your eye liner.

The rod is also made from polypropylene, and the soft tip ends are made from thermoplastic elastomers. The carrying case is crafted from recycled ocean-bound plastic, with a minimal shape and six color options.

Soft and durable, the LastSwab Beauty comes in a few different options:

  • 1 pack: $12
  • 4 pack (1 free): $36 (value of $48)

LastObject LastSwab Baby Review

Babies have sensitive, delicate skin, and it’s important to use carefully designed, safe products. The LastSwab Baby is just that, designed to clean the areas around the baby’s eye, outer ears, nose and navel, or for applying lotions and creams to specific areas.

It has a rounded shape with a smaller, rounded tip designed to ensure a gentle touch. It can also be reused up to 1,000 times, simply being cleaned with soap and water and stored safely in one of the three different colored carrying cases.

Made for babies, the LastSwab Baby comes in a pack of 1 with a swab and a carrying case, retailing for $12.

LastObject LastTissue Review

While handkerchiefs were once a commonly used product, the comfort of tissues became unmatched. That is, until the top selling LastObject LastTissue entered the market, offering a hygienic, reusable, and ultra-soft option.

LastObject LastTissue Review

Ultra soft to protect your skin from irritation, the LastTissue is the last tissue you’ll ever need. It can easily wipe away tears, runny noses, makeup, and more. Made from GOT certified organic cotton, it is both safe and effective to use.

The tissues are easy to clean, simply tuck them in the laundry bag and machine wash at 140°F/60°C. You can also rinse or wash the food grade silicone case in the dishwasher.

Plus, when you’re using them on the go it’s completely sanitary since there is a barrier to separate used and unused tissues. A LastTissue can be washed up to 520 times. With 6 in a pack, that would eliminate 3,100+ single-use tissues.

Whether you want them for yourself or the whole fam, the LastTissue comes in a few different size options:

  • 1 pack (1 carrying case + 6 tissues): $24
  • 4 pack (4 carrying cases + 24 tissues): $72 ($96 value)
  • 7 pack (7 carrying cases + 42 tissues): $120 ($168 value)

LastObject LastTissue Box Review

When you’re at home, digging around your purse when you need a LastTissue ASAP can be frustrating.

Thankfully, the brand offers the LastTissue Box, which resembles a classic tissue box, though it is made from soft food-grade silicone with a barrier to separate used and unused tissues. Each box contains 18 tissues, one of which replaces 9,300+ single-use tissues.

Sleek and simple, the LastTissue Box comes in 6 different colors and a few different options:

  • 1 pack (1 tissue box + 18 tissues): $49
  • 4 pack (4 tissue boxes + 72 tissues): $147 ($196 value)
  • 7 pack (7 tissue boxes + 126 tissues): $240 ($343 value)

LastObject LastRound Review

Ideal for taking off make-up, applying toner, and cleansing your skin, a cotton round makes every self care regimen easier. But, the amount of rounds you toss away in a day might surprise you.

To save a little cash and protect the environment, opt for the best selling LastObject LastRound, which is a reusable and effective alternative.

LastObject LastRound Review

The LastRound is a reusable and sustainable alternative to single-use cotton rounds. It’s ideal for every use you could think of, from makeup removal to even applying makeup.

Like classic cotton rounds, it can also be used for light exfoliation, buffing away dryness and even pressing toners and lotions deeper into the skin. The cases are also made from recycled ocean-bound plastic, come in 6 different colors, and can be reused endlessly.

Made from 70% wood fibers and 30% cotton fibers, as well as backyard compostable after 1750+ uses, the LastRound comes in three options:

  • Single (7 rounds + 1 case): $14
  • Kit (21 rounds + 1 case + 1 laundry bag): $32 ($36 value)
  • Kit XL (35 rounds + 1 case + 1 XL laundry bag): $48 ($60 value)

Who Is LastObject For?

LastObject Review

Products like cotton swabs, cotton rounds, and tissues can add up in cost and in the landfill. And if you’re tired of wasting products and money, LastObject is for you.

The brand focuses on creating ethically made and sustainable products, not only limiting the amount of single use products that end up in landfills, but recycling plastics to ensure that even fewer items are wasted.

All that being said, LastObject reviews are designed for eco-conscious beauty lovers. Finally, you can indulge in your self care routine using reusable products, rather than the classic single-use necessities.

Is LastObject Sustainable?

LastObject Review

In a world where single use products and plastics end up in the oceans and landfills, negatively impacting the environment, LastObject’s reusable products are a shining light.

1.5 million cotton swabs are produced daily. So while it may seem like you’re only using a small number, the impact is endless.

And they don’t only end up in the trash—the production and packaging, not to mention warehousing and shipping is an incredibly long and wasteful process, especially considering the use of raw materials and level of carbon emissions. And don’t get us started on cotton rounds and tissues!

It’s also worth mentioning that most single use products are made with paper, cotton, or plastic, which increases demand and decreases a focus on sustainable sourcing.

LastObject uses materials like plant-based plastics which are toxin free, or organic cotton which uses fewer resources and chemicals. So, the materials are sourced in a sustainable, eco-friendly way, and the products are manufactured the same way.

But, the brand’s sustainability efforts don’t stop with simply creating reusable daily essentials. LastObject diverts and then recycles ocean-bound plastic, protecting sea life and marine ecosystems, as well as reducing inland plastic pollution as well.

LastObject Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

LastObject Review

These reusable products appear to be a game-changer in the world of beauty, but for this LastObject review I feel that it’s only fair to turn to customer testimonials. So, I searched the web and found comments on the brand’s website, Trustpilot, and Facebook.

First up, let’s consider how some of the brand’s top sellers are rated:

  • LastRound: 4.4/5 stars out of 759 reviews
  • LastTissue: 4.5/5 stars out of 288 reviews
  • LastSwab: 4.2/5 stars out of 1147 reviews

One customer was impressed with their purchase, describing how the rounds were effective and easy to use, as well as an ideal option for travel:

It doesn’t feel coarse or gritty against skin, really just like a normal cotton round, just more durable. Cleaning them is pretty easy even when removing makeup. The main plus is that when traveling, I don’t have to bring plenty of cotton rounds with me, just one case of Last Round.”

Another reviewer states that the tissue goes everywhere they do because of its effective, hygienic, and durable design:

“They feel durable and high quality. I have one in my car, one in my purse, one in my living room and one in my bedroom.”

On Trustpilot, the brand earns 4.2/5 stars out of 29 reviews. One customer loves how the product feels and how it makes them feel:

Easy to clean, easy to use and store and even gives you a mini massage when you use it. I feel wonderful knowing I’m doing my part as well and will probably also buy the other swab so I have no need for disposable ones ever again!”

72 reviewers on Facebook award the brand 4.7/5 stars. A patron shares notes that the cotton rounds work the exact same as the disposable ones, of course with the perk of being reusable:

I bought the Last Swab basic and the beauty one and they are really good. They’ll do pretty much anything you would use a regular cotton bud for and are really durable and easy to use. Plus the zero waste aspect is a real bonus for me. I would definitely recommend them.”

Overall, LastObject products are handy and effective, easy to use and clean, and an ideal option for anyone who is looking for a sustainable alternative. Customers appreciate the thought behind every design, making the brand one of the best options on the market when it comes to investing in reusable beauty items.
