About NOMAD Grill

NOMAD Grill Review

Are you looking for a convenient and compact way to cook meals on the go? Well, the NOMAD BBQ might be exactly what you’re looking for next time you go camping. But this brand’s products are so good, you might just want to use them at home too!

With features in Rolling Stone, Esquire, Men’s Journal, and more, this brand has had a lot of coverage. And for good reason. You can tell customers agree with this media attention thanks to their 307k Instagram followers who love the brand’s grill and gear.

But, it’s not going to be any good if you don’t know what a NOMAD BBQ is, how much it costs, what customers think about it, or where it’s made. I’ll tell you all that in my NOMAD Grill review so that you can decide whether or not the brand deserves your hard-earned money.

Overview of NOMAD Grill

NOMAD Grill Review

As you can tell by their name, NOMAD Grill is all about mobility. They wanted to build their brand on a grill that you could take anywhere. While there were many grills on the market that claimed to do that, how many can actually withstand the elements and maintain their cooking prowess? NOMAD wanted to step things up.

After three years of development, NOMAD Grill launched their first product. It is, as they describe, a grill in the form of a suitcase. The success and adoration they received from the product allowed them to expand their inventory without shying away from their original goal: to help people grill whenever and wherever they please.

Let’s look at how they do that by looking at some highlights:

NOMAD Grill and Smoker Review

Imagine if you could take your grill with your anywhere. The first product in my NOMAD Grill review brings that fantasy to life.

The brand’s flagship product is equipped with two diecast cooking boxes, heat-dissipating technology, and stainless steel grates. Plus, it’s designed for ergonomic carrying and a mess-free cooking experience

Weighing in at 28 lbs, it’s amazing that this compact suitcase can provide 425 sq in of cooking space once it’s set up. That’s enough space to cook a good meal for you and your camping crew.

You can pick up the NOMAD Grill and Smoker with blue, black, or orange highlights for $649.

NOMAD Knives Review

A good knife can separate a skilled cook from a microwave-and-Uber-Eats enthusiast. Of course, there’s more to it than that, but a knife like one of the NOMAD Knives can make you want to cook more.

They’re made in collaboration with Made in Cookware, a fellow Texas-based brand, to deliver 8” of sharp, stainless steel. Artisanily made with premium materials, you’ll be able to easily slice and dice your food as you prep.

One of the NOMAD Knives costs $118 and is available with a blue or black handle.

NOMAD Grill BBQ Tools Review

The final items I want to highlight in my NOMAD Grill review are a set of essential tools that can take you from grilling wannabe to Master Chef. The heavy-duty steel set includes:

  1. Spatula
  2. Tongs
  3. Meat fork

You won’t be able to properly grill a steak or some vegetable kebabs without the right tools by your side, so NOMAD has you covered. Each tool is made with handcrafted stainless steel designed with durability and quality in mind. The black or blue handles are ergonomic, so you’ll feel comfortable as you cook.

The NOMAD Grill BBQ Tools, and all their silicone-protected glory, can be yours for $140.

Who Is NOMAD Grill For?

NOMAD Grill Review

The obvious answer here is that NOMAD Grills are for campers or backpackers who want the freedom to grill on their travels.

However, there’s also a case to be made that the items in my NOMAD Grill review could be used by those who live in smaller houses or apartments who still want to grill their food. You won’t be able to use the smoker, but these products could replace a hot plate.

NOMAD Grill Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

NOMAD Grill Review

Since they’re a newer company, it was tough to find NOMAD Grill reviews from customers besides those on the brand’s website. I’ll present you with those first:

  • NOMAD Grill and Smoker: 5/5 stars from 1.2k reviews
  • NOMAD Grill BBQ Tools: 5/5 stars after 100 reviews
  • NOMAD Knives: 5/5 stars from 84 reviews

The only other NOMAD Grill review score I could find was on Facebook. There, the company had an average score of 4.6/5 stars based on more than 10 reviews.

While the NOMAD Grill and Smoker received most of the praise from customers, it’s worth mentioning that the other products were complimented for similar reasons. Buyers felt that they were strong and dependable. Here’s what one customer wrote about the NOMAD Grill BBQ Tools:

“I love my NOMAD tools!! They are very good quality and do not feel cheap at all! I think the best part is that the spatula and the fork have a bottle opener on the side! Made Alligator skewers last week on my nomad and it turned out delicious! Definitely recommend. 10/10!”

Here’s another informative NOMAD Grill review from Facebook: “Outstanding product, outstanding salespersons. Easy to use, clean, and store. Built like a tank [with]

precision machining and no air leaks. Easy to adjust the side vents. The temperature probe is accurate. It’s not your everyday flimsy grill and it’s portable.”

Much praise was directed toward the mobility of NOMAD Grill’s products. The titular grill, alongside its accessories, was actually portable, meaning that you didn’t have to be Hercules to carry them around.

“I’ve never had so much fun grilling. You can take this case anywhere. The charcoal has an awesome flavor. Having a moment with veggies and salmon,” wrote one NOMAD Grill reviewer.

Some customers said that the smoker didn’t have the best airflow. They reported that it didn’t give them the smokiness they were looking for with their food. However, I found that the majority of buyers found the opposite to be true. I found this on Reddit about the NOMAD Grill and Smoker that praised the smoker:

The outside of the grill doesn’t get too hot actually. You can move it while it’s cooking with it sealed and you won’t burn yourself. With the bottom vent completely open and the top vent halfway open, you can smoke for long periods of time. I recall I smoked a pork shoulder for 12 hours [with] no issues, didn’t need to go and add more charcoal with their logs.

Overall, it seems that the majority of customers who have used NOMAD Grills were pleased with the quality of their products and the experience of cooking with them on the go.

Is NOMAD Grill Legit?

NOMAD Grill Review

I’m happy to report that there weren’t any NOMAD Grill reviews that made me feel uneasy about the brand. As I said, there were some complaints about the smoker, but that comes down to personal preference more than anything else.

Is NOMAD Grill Worth It?

NOMAD Grill Review

It’s safe to say that NOMAD Grill is worth it. While it’s pricier than other portable grills, it earns that higher price tag through its quality and longevity. With that in addition to its countless positive reviews, I feel safe recommending it.
