Shaw Floors Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Shaw Floors Review

Flooring is a major decision in home design, and getting it right involves doing your research. To help, I ventured out in search of comments and ratings from around the web, and in this section of my Shaw Floors review, you’ll see exactly what customers think about the brand.

The first Shaw Floors review we’ll look at comes from Houzz.com. It begins, “We have Shaw Citadel vinyl plank floors throughout our entire house. Bought it all at Menard’s back in 2016, and installed it ourselves. No regrets.

In terms of how well this particular flooring holds up with wear and tear, the Shaw Floors review continued, “It still looks perfect, just like it did in 2016, with zero scratches, and that’s saying a lot. We have 3 Great Danes who run amok on the floor everyday, who can destroy pretty much anything…except this floor.”

Home Depot is one of Shaw’s main retail partners and it has a great variety of Shaws luxury vinyl plank flooring to browse. Below is a list of ratings for a few best-sellers:

  • Primavera Luxury Shaw Floors Vinyl Plank: 4.8/5 stars, 99 reviews
  • Western Hardwood Flooring: 4.3/5 stars, 120 reviews
  • Vista Click Lock Vinyl Tile Flooring: 4/5 stars, 266 reviews

I’m so happy I went with this flooring. It has a mixture of browns, creams, and greys. It looks absolutely amazing. I will be definitely ordering more for the whole house,” wrote one customer in their Shaw Floors review on HomeDepot.com.

Overall, there seems to be a consensus among customers that Shaw floors are easy to install and look beautiful. On Lowes.com, the Matrix Waterproof Luxury Interlocking Vinyl Plank flooring was awarded an average of 4/5 stars by 587 shoppers. Here’s the rating snapshot:

  • 5 stars: 62%
  • 4 stars: 12%
  • 3 stars: 7%
  • 2 stars: 4%
  • 1 star: 14%

One Shaw Floors review read, “This floor is absolutely gorgeous! Easy to install right over tile. I’ve had it installed for about a month. Very durable and easy to clean. I was only going to do a few rooms but liked it so much I bought more to do the rest of my house.

There were a few customers that were unimpressed with the durability of certain Shaw flooring styles, but it’s true that some are more suitable for high-traffic areas than others.

Be sure to consider what kind of daily wear and tear your floor will see before choosing one based on looks.

Are Shaw Floors Worth It?

How To Choose The Best Flooring

Shaw Floors Review

With so many companies offering flooring options, how do you know which one is right for your home? And once you settle on a company, how do you go about picking the perfect type of flooring for your room?

There are many questions to consider when choosing the best flooring, so I’ve included a few key factors to consider along the way.

  1. Room: The type of flooring you put in your bathroom will likely be different than the type you put in your bedroom, so first things first, think about the room you wish to floor. Consider things like the chance of your flooring being exposed to water, messes, pets, and traffic, and opt for a type that works best in each situation.
  1. Material: If you like the look of wood, you obviously aren’t going to shop for carpet. Knowing the type of material you’d like to work with is an easy way to eliminate the bulk of your options.
  1. Look: You’ve found the right material, now it’s time to consider the look. Vinyl plank flooring can look like wood, tile, or stone, and hardwood flooring comes in a range of stains. Choose one that aligns with the look of your home and its existing decor.
  1. Sustainability: If you’re shopping for wood flooring, you’ll want to consider where that wood came from. Shaw uses wood from known responsible sources only.

FAQ

Shaw Floors Review

Who owns Shaw Floors?

With a history that dates back to 1946, Shaw Industries was originally called Star Dye Company and produced bedspreads and throws. The company is now a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc.

Can I Use A Steam Mop On My Hardwood Or Laminate Floor?

Steam cleaning can actually damage and warp hardwood and laminate flooring. Be sure to follow the care instructions laid out by Shaw for the specific type of flooring you have.

Are Your Wood And Wood Products Obtained From Responsible Sources?

Shaw has a strict wood sourcing policy that ensures the wood they use in their flooring is always obtained from responsible sources. Choosing responsible known sources and never unknown, here’s what you can expect in terms of sourcing when you buy from Shaw:

  • FSC Certified wood from any country
  • US areas where growth exceeds removal
  • Low-risk areas in the US
  • Outside of the US where legal harvesting has been confirmed

Can I Buy Direct From Shaw?

Shaw is a carpet manufacturer that does not sell its products directly to the public. Since it’s such a popular brand, many stores across the US carry it. To search for flooring stores near me, use the retailer locator.

How Often Does My Shaw Floors Carpet Need To Be Cleaned?

Shaw recommends getting your carpet cleaned professionally every 12-18 months. With that said, the frequency of which you do it depends on how much foot traffic you have in that specific area.

For example, living rooms see more traffic than bedrooms do, so you may find you need to get bedrooms professionally cleaned less frequently—at most, every 24 months. Shaw recommends heading to iicrc.org to find a certified cleaner.
