Overview of Skin and Me

Skin and Me Review

James Mishreki launched Skin and Me in 2018 after noticing a problem in the skincare industry: people often don’t know how to care for their own skin. As a result, the journey to a clear complexion often comes with frustration and major self-esteem highs and lows.

So, after teaming up seasoned dermatologists and pharmacists with direct-to-consumer specialists, the brand created a “powerful and personalized solution” delivered right to consumers. With this model built on a strong team of experts, the London-based brand is on a mission to “change the face of skincare.”

The company also maintains a sustainability promise. In other words, they focus on high environmental standards in addition to their effective skincare methods. They’re reducing plastic in their packaging and using less waste overall in their pharmacy, deliveries, and more.

Now that I’ve discussed some company history, I’ll kick off this Skin and Me review with some key highlights:

Skin and Me Consultation Review

Skin and Me Review

Skin and Me’s online consultation will require you to answer questions about your skin goals, previous treatments, and medical history. This will give the Dermatology Team everything they need to properly assess your skin’s needs.

If you’re eligible for treatment, you’ll receive a personalized prescription with your skin-happy ingredients. But what kind of questions will they ask you? I’ll walk you through a consultation right now.

They ask about your skin goals, such as tackling fine lines, improving skin texture, and more. I’m going to choose to minimize fine lines and clear adult acne. I’m also going to prioritize acne because pesky spots can be frustrating.

For acne and fine lines, the company might prescribe treatments with ingredients like niacinamide and Tretinoin, which will help with cell turnover, collagen production, and moisture. These ingredients are put into one of two base creams that are non-greasy, non-comedogenic, and fragrance-free.

The following steps will go over some essential info, including your gender identity, sex, and birthday. This will help the team assess your skin based on your hormones! Then, you can choose the main focus areas on your face.

Next, they ask about your skin type, skin tone, and sensitivity. It also asks about flushing/blushing and whether you’re pregnant or breastfeeding. Finally, they note that if you become pregnant while using the treatment plan, you’ll need to stop using it immediately and let the team know so they can adjust.

Next up is your treatment history. While writing this Skin and Me review I found that the brand asks about prescription creams, non-prescription retinoids, antibiotics, birth control, and other regular medications. If you are using any of these, your treatment will vary!

Depending on your answers, you might be prescribed antibiotics alongside your treatments. Additionally, Skin and Me notes that treatments are made for nighttime use. They also advise against using acids and actives alongside them.

They will ask about medical history and lifestyle questions. Things like physical activity, drinking alcohol, or caffeine plays significant roles in your skin’s health. I’m more of an outdoorsy type with a caffeine vice because who can resist a cuppa?

They also ask about your current skincare routine and skincare knowledge. In general, the consultation is super thorough and helpful as it takes you through how you feel about your skin and what you want to achieve. They seem to have thought of everything that has an effect on your skin, from internal to external factors.

In the end, a subscription starts at $31 per month with a $4 pharmacy fee.

Skin and Me is great for anyone who’s struggling with their skin. They tackle many common concerns like fine lines, skin texture, visible pores, and more. Plus, with the online consultation, you’ll receive topical and/or antibiotic treatments that are suitable for your skin only

In addition, the ingredients and base cream they use are vegan and cruelty-free, which is important to many consumers.

Is Skin and Me Good For Acne?

Skin and Me Review

Skin and Me tackles acne with personalized treatments, including topicals, gels, and creams for mild to moderate spots. They also curate prescriptions for your goals and skin type.

If your acne is more severe, or you’re experiencing scarring, they recommend scheduling an in-person appointment with your doctor. In other words, they’ll definitely be able to help with acne.

Skin and Me Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Skin and Me Review

What would this Skin and Me review be if I didn’t look at customer testimonials? So I scoured the internet for feedback and came up with some from the brand’s website, Facebook, and Trustpilot.

Overall, the reception is mainly positive. Here’s how the skincare service rates on external websites:

  • Trustpilot: 4.6/5 stars from 3.8k reviews
  • Facebook: 4.3/5 stars from 64 reviews

On the company’s website, one customer wrote: “This product has literally changed my life! I’ve tried countless amounts of drug store products and even antibiotics, and nothing has cleared my skin up the way Skin and Me has. I get complimented on the daily on how clear my skiing has become and how small my pores look! I absolutely love it and will continue to use it!”

It looks like they’re doing something right. Trustpilot users also love the treatments they received. One reviewer said: “I have been using this cream for just over two weeks now and have noticed a massive difference in my skin! The amount of times I’ve told people to check out my skin is unreal! Love it!

Another customer wrote: “I am a few weeks in and can see some positive changes. My mum even commented on how much better my skin is looking. I have a way to go before it’s clear, but after a few weeks, I’m pleased with the results.”

I also found some exciting Skin and Me reviews on Facebook. One happy customer wrote: “This treatment is amazing. I saw results within three days. Highly recommended. Excellent communication from the company with lots of useful advice.”

With any skincare treatment, results might not turn out the way you expected. There are more critical reviews stating that products made skin concerns worse. Some people also had issues with delivery times. Luckily, the brand’s dermatology team quickly responds to these rare occurrences.

Is Skin and Me Worth It?

Skin and Me Review
