About Vetster

Vetster Review

Nowadays, we have all our necessities available within a few taps on a screen. Vetster extends the line of thought that led to the creation of online grocery shopping and virtual clothes try-ons all the way to animal care.

Vetster is an online company that allows customers to connect with vets at a moment’s notice. And I do mean that as they offer 24/7 service, so you may find a vet to answer your late-night questions.

They won the 2021 Pet Innovation award and have accrued over 6k followers on Instagram.

In this Vetster review, I’ll look at how the brand’s platform works, what you can expect to find on their platform, what their experts offer, and more.

Overview Of Vetster

Vetster Review

It’s not surprising that Vetster began in 2020, the year the world shut down. Many businesses and services had to adapt to our inability to be in close proximity to one another. While we as humans can understand the situation, our pets couldn’t.

This opened up the need for a form of virtual care for pets because it’s not as if the pandemic meant that pets stopped getting fleas, cuts, or other health issues.

Vetster established themselves in Toronto, Ontario as a 24/7 service to facilitate the connections between pet owners and vets. They allow owners to choose the time and the vets that best work for them.

On the other hand, vets can set their own schedules and prices. As such, the platform benefits both parties.

The brand has remained active since their formation as people realized that it’s handy to have a vet available at our fingertips.

The next section of this Vetster review will look at what else makes this service worth checking out.

Vetster Health Review

Vetster Review

I’ll run through the service’s basics in this Vetster review. While they offer a platform for vets and vet technicians, my Vetster review will look at what the site provides for consumers and pet owners.

I should add that you can find the Vetster app on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store if you’d prefer to use their services on the go.

How Does Vetster Work?

Vetster Review

The best way to look at Vetster is as a medium connecting you to vets. Since you can’t just ask your pet what’s bugging them if their behavior seems off, Vetster can match you with the right person to answer your questions.

The app is lined with specialists in animals like the following:

  • Dogs
  • Cats
  • Small animals
  • Birds
  • Horses
  • Farm animals
  • Reptiles
  • Amphibians

When you’re looking to book your consultation, a process I’ll detail in the next section of this Vetster review, you can see what each vet is capable of. You’re not just going to match with a random dog owner. Instead, Vetster gives you control over who you speak with.

You can look through every vet’s profile to see designation, licenses, what they’re capable of doing, and their client reception.

Each vet goes into detail about the services they provide. For example, I read through one professional’s profile and saw their capabilities included optimizing the new kitten and puppy experience as well as how to make one’s house pet-friendly.

Based on that, a key aspect of this Vetster review is that the service isn’t just for people who want to know why their dog is always licking their underside (the dog’s underside, not the owner’s).

Of course, you can tackle issues like GI issues, cuts, bruises, rashes, and other more immediate concerns, but there’s room for you to ask general questions too.

The general price range for a Vetster appointment is $50 to $150. This price depends on the vet as they pick their rates.

Thankfully, you shouldn’t fall victim to any surprise fees as each vet lists their price upfront. You should know exactly how much your visitation is going to cost before you even book the session.

The other main appeal of Vetster is that you won’t have to agitate your pet by traveling with them if they’re sick. The appointment is conducted virtually so you can speak with the vet from your home or wherever your pet feels most comfortable.

Unfortunately, this does come with the trade-off that the vet won’t be able to see your pet in person.

This isn’t a huge deal for some consultations, but if your pet is suffering from bumps that the vet must physically feel or if your video quality is subpar then it could affect the quality of the appointment.

However, that’s simply the nature of the beast (pun intended) when it comes to virtual appointments. You trade the benefits of in-person exposure for convenience. That trade may or may not be worth it for you depending on what ails your pet.

How To Book A Virtual Vet Session With Vetster

Vetster Review

Vetster makes it bafflingly simple to book a virtual vet session so that the process feels nearly automatic.

All you need to do is select the parameters that apply to you and look at the available options. You can modify your search with these variables:

  • Location
  • Date
  • Time
  • Species treated
  • Areas of interest
  • Spoken language

After looking through all the vets that match your parameters then you’re set to book your virtual session. It’s that easy.

Who Is Vetster For?

Vetster Review

There are plenty of people who would appreciate the services covered in this Vetster review.

Those who live in rural communities, people whose pets get sick late at night, and new pet owners with pets that don’t like to travel should all look into this service.

Vetster Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Vetster Review

I looked at Vetster reviews from across the internet to see what customers thought about the service. Here are the scores I found on the most reliable databases:

  • Google Reviews: 5/5 stars based on nearly 1,000 ratings
  • Google Play Store: 4.3/5 stars based on more than 110 ratings
  • Apple App Store: 4.3/5 stars based on more than 80 ratings
  • Trust Pilot: 3.2/5 stars based on more than 10 ratings

The positive testimonials said that the service was a godsend as it removed the barriers between them and good pet care. Here’s one 5/5 stars review from the Apple App Store that speaks to that point:

I live in a rural community and the closest vet clinic is an hour away, and they’re not taking new patients. Having access to a vet over telehealth is such a relief.

Other Vetster reviews complimented the vets themselves. Many clients said that the vets offered them tremendous care. This next Vetster review I want to share goes in-depth about how thoroughly the vet helped this user:

Prescriptions were sent directly to the pharmacy of my choice.  She was caring and informative, taking time to explain the other options and in some cases tying the medicine to a human equivalent for better understanding. The appointment was not rushed and she even stayed on extra time to ensure we got through all the items.

Another customer said that their vet was able to diagnose their cat’s illness and send them the medication necessary to help the kitty heal.

They added, “We also have the option to message the vet for 72 hours after the appointment if things change or get worse. Completely worth the price for the peace of mind and knowing he won’t be in pain while waiting for his appointment.

The only negative feedback I found among customer testimonials was that some vets did not show up for their appointments. This is more a strike against those individuals’ vets than Vetster themselves, as the service does not hire these vets.
