With over 245k Instagram followers alone and features in TIME, Insider, Forbes, and many other popular publications, it would seem that Banza is reinventing what it means to eat carbs. But is it really worth all the hype?

So where did this brand get its start? On a mission to make nutritious food more accessible in the US, brothers Scott and Brian Rudolph founded Banza in 2014. 

They wanted to reinvent traditional comfort foods into something people didn’t have to feel guilty about eating. To do so, they launched their line of chickpea pasta, mac and cheese, and more recently, pizzas in Detroit, Michigan.

And get this, although most of what they offer is made in the US, some of their pasta shapes are actually made in Italy.

We’re talking about pizza and pasta here, so feedback is of the utmost importance. That’s why I’ve dedicated an entire section of my Banza Pasta review to customer comments and ratings. We’ll start with a few from the official website:

Spaghetti is a classic, so it makes sense that it’s the brand’s most popular product. This Banza Pasta review explains why people love it so much:

“This product was the answer to my prayers…I have an autoimmune disease and pasta was one of the staples that were making me sick. My son has Autism and he can not eat regular pasta either, pasta makes his symptoms worse. So Banza gave us the opportunity to eat pasta again without getting stomach pain, getting bloated, and getting chronic fatigue.”

Whatever reason you can’t eat regular pasta, Banza noodles make a delicious substitute that customers say tastes just like the real thing. As for their pizzas, this next Banza review suggests that the same applies. It reads:

“The pizzas themselves are delicious. The crust tastes exactly like a regular pizza. My husband and I couldn’t taste any difference crust-wise at all.”

That kind of comment is standard for the pasta and the pizza from Banza. Apparently, the texture and taste are spot-on, and that’s something that other gluten-free options don’t have. 

For the next bite of feedback, I turned to Amazon and checked out the Banza Pasta Elbows. There, they scored 4.5/5 stars from 174 global ratings.

One Banza Pasta review on Amazon read: “Banza provides the perfect option to wheat pasta with great flavor and healthier. I find I’m feeling full after smaller portions, which I attribute to this protein-rich pasta. Also saving on carbohydrates and increasing fiber. It took me a long time to find a replacement for conventional pasta.”

There’s a lot of buzz going on about Banza online with plenty of comments and ratings across publications and review sites. The last Banza Pasta review I’ll include here is from Epicurious:

It’s not gummy or overly soft. Nor is it stringy or tough. It holds up to being boiled in water better than other bean pasta, maintaining the bite of an al dente noodle.”

They did, however, mention that the smaller-sized shapes held up better in terms of consistency, as some longer noodles broke apart after boiling. That’s certainly no deal breaker for me but a welcome piece of information for those who often opt for Spaghetti.

Overall, the feedback for Banza was incredible. Customers loved the taste and texture, and there isn’t much more I could ask to find in the comments. See the next section of my Banza Pasta review for my final thoughts.

Is Banza Pasta Worth It?

To be honest, when I first read about chickpea pasta I assumed it would have an earthy taste and gritty texture. I was so, so wrong. Customers said it tasted just like regular wheat pasta. I’ve tried rice pasta before and like it, but the texture is quite different.

Shoppers say that both Banza’s pasta and pizza taste just like wheat and that is fantastic news for those with celiac disease or gluten intolerance. Is Banza pasta healthy? It’s healthier than regular pasta with 50% more protein and 3x the fiber. All things considered, Banza checks out and is 100% worth buying.

Banza Spaghetti, Linguine, and Angel Hair are proudly made in the pasta capital of the world, Italy. All other pasta shapes are made in the USA.

Does Banza Pasta Ship Internationally?

Banza does not ship its products internationally at this time, and as it is, many of them aren’t available for purchase on EatBanza.com. The brand’s pasta, pizza, mac, and rice ships within the continental US (not to Hawaii or Alaska). If you live in Canada, you can find select Banza products available at Natura Market.

Is Banza Pasta Gluten-Free?

All of Banza’s pasta shapes are certified by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization. So is Banza pasta gluten-free? It is all made in a gluten-free facility. All other products are not certified gluten-free, but the entire line is non-GMO, allergen-free, and kosher. If you require specific information about the ingredients or allergens in their products, email the brand. 

What is Banza Pasta’s Return Policy?
