Any beauty lover gets a kick out of a trip to the nail salon. But, for some, it can be an expensive and time-consuming option. So, they resort to at-home manicures, and that’s where Manime comes in.

The beauty-tech company offers custom stick-on gel manicures for anyone to enjoy a fresh manicure without the time commitment. The innovative, award-winning company delivers on its promises, with 84.5k followers on Instagram and features in Forbes.

Are you looking to save a couple of bucks on your manicures? Keep reading this Manime review. I’ll take a look at the company’s origins, best-selling nails, customer reviews, and more so you can decide if they’re worth buying.

Overview of Manime

Manime Review

Jooyeon Song was tired of the same nail salon experiences. She found them time-consuming and found the results lackluster after resorting to other at-home methods. Upon these realizations, she thought there must be a quicker and inexpensive solution.

In 2017, she teamed up with David Miro Llopis and Grace Chiang to create Manime as a school project at Stanford Business. They drew up a plan to develop custom-fit gel manicures using 3D modeling, laser cutting, and customer photos for the perfect fit.

The California-based company officially launched, with Llopis and Song partnering up. They aim to bring “endless mani options to beauty lovers everywhere” with their personalized and cruelty-free gel manicures. The “mani of the future” is also free of 10 harmful chemicals, making a beautiful and eco-friendly finished product.

Now that you know a bit more about the brand, my Manime review will go over some highlights:

Manime Nails Review

These days, you can’t go anywhere without seeing some fancy nail art. But there’s nothing wrong with sticking to the classics. The popular Manime sets are simple, beautiful, and great for a quick pampering sesh.

Manime Strawberry Mochi Nails Review

The Strawberry Mochi Nails are the sweetest shade of pink for the spring season. They’re soft, subtle, and won’t take any time to apply. Plus, there isn’t any dry time. So, you can stick them on and go about the rest of your day.

These nails have a classic glossy finish that’ll have your nails looking salon fresh for up to 10 days. And whether you opt for standard sizes or a custom fit, you’ll always receive a nail file, prep pad, and manicure stick to help you look cute and glam.

The Strawberry Mochi set retails for $12

Manime Venus Shell NNN10 Nails Review

Next in this Manime review is the Venus Shell NNN10 Nails, fit for the most glamorous beauty lovers. The warm neutral is shimmery and perfect for all seasons. You can even wear it for the wedding season whether you’re the bride or not.

This shade is just easy to reach for. The salon-quality stick-on gels will last a bit longer than your traditional mani without any chance of chipping. You won’t even have to worry about them while washing your hands throughout the day.

The Venus Shell NNN10 nail will run you $12.

Manime Watermelon Sugar Nails Review

Say hi to the Watermelon Sugar set. The bright red shade is a bold and beautiful summer color. It has a matte finish that might cool it down to a more brilliant pink but won’t take away from its vibrant and fun shade.

I may have said that the color is great for summer, but it can be worn whenever you’d like. If you opt for a standard size, you’ll receive 18 stick-on gels for multiple uses. But, opting for a custom fit means you’ll get a practice set if you’re a first-time user. This allows you to adjust to the application process, and it is just convenient overall.

You can channel the hit Harry Styles song through the Watermelon Sugar Nails for $12.

Manime Dusk to Dawn Nails Review

Last up in this Manime review are the Dusk to Dawn Nails. The dark blue will be easy to reach during colder months or spooky season. The color may change in certain lighting from blue to black. Plus, you’ll get a shimmer close to the night sky with a glossy finish.

Styling around dark nails is a cinch. The Dusk to Dawn set is an excellent option if you’re not too keen on entirely black manicures but will still be easy to dress and accessorize. Whether you’re going for gold or silver jewelry, you’ll look put together and cute.

You can get the Dusk to Dawn set for $12

Who Is Manime For?

Manime Review

Manime is for anyone who wants to save some time and money on a manicure. They’re convenient, affordable, and easy to use without spending time sitting in a salon. Any busy parent or professional can easily have a cute and fresh nail look with the stick-on gel nails.

How Does Manime Work?

Manime Review

If you opt for custom Manime nails, you have to upload a picture of your nails to the website. Then, Manime gets to work, creating a 3D representation of your nails and, using a laser cutter, prints gel stickers that match your exact nail size.

Once you receive your set in the mail, you mold the sticker over the nail and stretch it to fit. If they aren’t exactly right, you can clip off the extra bits and let the team know for future orders!

Manime Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Manime Review

This wouldn’t be a Manime review if I didn’t look at what customers say about the brand. So, I scoured the web for testimonials. Besides the company website, I found reviews on Reddit and Trustpilot.

Here are the ratings for the featured nails:

  • Strawberry Mochi Nails: 4.5/5 stars from 5.4k reviews
  • Venus Shell NNN10 Nails: 4.4/5 stars from 147 reviews
  • Watermelon Sugar Nails: 4.5/5 stars from 5.5k reviews
  • Dusk to Dawn Nails: 4.5/5 stars from 5.5k reviews

Beauty lovers rave about the Strawberry Mochi Nails. The subtle pink impresses them all along with the longevity, easy application, and overall look.

One customer writes, “If applied right, these nails are perfect! I’ve had mine on for over a week, and they look great. No more gel manicures for me! I love these! Customer service, customization, and promptness of shipping are all stellar.”

Another reviewer says, “Looks pretty! I used the matte topcoat, and it turned out nicely. This was my second try, and they went on a lot more easily than the first try. But, I still have room to improve. It’s a bit hard to trim them with such short nails (but that’s on me).”

The Watermelon Sugar Nails also get some love, with customers giving it the same praise as some gave the previous sets.

One beauty lover writes, “A classic color that looks like a real gel manicure. Matte color but would also like if they had this in a glossy finish but will definitely be ordering again.”

Another reviewer writes, “Fit great! It looked redder than the model image, but I expected it based on client-uploaded pics. Easy to apply and stayed on for 12 days before I removed it. Already bought a second set in this shade!”

I also found some favorable Manime reviews on a Reddit thread. Users enjoyed the gel manicures and praised the team for their “on point” customer service.

Unfortunately, I did find a few critical reviewers on Trustpilot that didn’t have a good experience with the nails. Luckily, these comments are rare and outnumbered by the amount of praise.

Manime vs Ohora

Manime Review

With beauty constantly evolving, our featured company might have some competition. Ohora is another brand that offers stick-on gel manicures at reasonable prices. So, you’re probably wondering how the two compare? I decided to look at Manime vs Ohora to help you make an informed decision.

First, let’s look at a few similarities:

  • Both companies offer stick-on gel nails to help people save time and money
  • The available nails are trendy and stylish
  • Offer free shipping with an order minimum
  • Both have the same return policy

So, the two nail companies look pretty similar. But, there are some key differences:

  • Ohora doesn’t offer custom sets
  • Ohora nails require customers to cure their set with a UV light
  • Ohora only ships to the US

Both companies offer cost-effective solutions to bi-weekly trips to the nail salon at the end of the day. But, Manime provides a more customized fit and quicker application process. Either way, both brands deliver gorgeous manicures that anyone will love. So, which one will you choose?

Is Manime Legit?

Manime Review

Manime seems legit to me. They have endless reviews with people raving about their at-home manicures, and it looks like they prioritize customer satisfaction. There aren’t any comments that pose a red flag regarding shipping or customer service.

Is Manime Worth It?

Manime Review

Based on everything I’ve learned during this Manime review, I think the beauty company is worth checking out. Their stick-on manicures are not only convenient, but they’re stylish, cute, and not very expensive. I also have to mention the unique customization system they’ve created, allowing anyone to get the perfect fit without having to clip or trim off excess product.
