About Oster

Oster Review

Does Oster really need an introduction? Whether you’re 22 or 92, it’s a household name we all grew up with, noting the script as mom ironed or that time we decided to hop on the smoothie trend.

Oster’s range of small kitchen appliances is anything but. It includes essentials you’d find in most homes, like kettles, toasters, and waffle makers, along with some unique items you never knew you needed. Their selection is just one of the reasons the brand is so popular, and they have a 1.6M following on Facebook to prove it.

It’s also incredibly easy to find its name in the media. Notable publications like Homes & Gardens, CNN, and Fast Company recommend its products and tell their epic tale.

Want to know more? It’s all coming up in this Oster review. Stay tuned for details on the brand, feedback, and more.

Overview of Oster

Oster Review

Did the whole “epic tale” thing catch your interest? If there ever was an impressive company, it would be Oster. First of all, it’s almost 100 years old, launched in 1924 by John Oster who named it the John Oster Manufacturing Company. Its claim to fame? A hand-operated hair clipper.

The concept was pretty riveting back then and crazily enough, they still make them to this day. It wasn’t until 1946 that they started making small appliances after buying Stevens Electric Company.

If you aren’t familiar with the name, Stevens is the brand that invented the liquefied blender, so while you don’t technically have Oster to thank for its creation, you can thank them for keeping it popular and helping it evolve.

Naming its own blender the Osterizer, in Latin America, the action we call “blending,” they call “Osterizering.” It’s that popular. Over the years, Oster introduced many more small kitchen appliances and was acquired by Sunbeam Products—a Florida-based company. It’s still one of the most popular names in kitchen supplies today.

Now that you know a bit more about the brand, let’s move on to its highlights.

Oster Blender Review

Oster makes more than 20 different types of blenders. Some have up to 16 speeds, some have XL capacities, and others boast 1400W of power. Next up in this Oster review, I’ll tell you all about their best-seller.

Oster Easy-to-Clean Blender with 6-Cup Boroclass Glass Jar Review

Looking for a blender that isn’t a pain to clean? The Easy-to-Clean Blender with 6-Cup Boroclass Glass Jar is your man. It has a 700W motor for effortless blending, along with a 6-cup capacity to make smoothies or soups for the entire family.

With 8 different speed functions, your new Oster blender is promised to last up to 10,000 smoothies and comes with a 3-Year Satisfaction Guarantee. Planning on keeping yours out on the counter? With a sleek diamond gray finish, this one’s a looker.

Oster Toaster Oven Review

I never knew toaster ovens could be so chic. Osters has a total of 11 in its collection, some of which have beautiful french doors. You’ll find both digital and knob-controlled options there too, along with some models that double as an air fryer. Up next, you’ll find the details on its best-seller.

Oster Extra Large Digital Countertop Oven Review

With the Extra Large Digital Countertop Oven, does your regular oven even need to exist? Whether you’re using this one in your small apartment or need the extra space for large family meals, it has enough room to toast 18 slices of bread or an entire chicken. It can even bake two pizzas at the same time.

Using convection technology to evenly heat your food[1], you might find that it cooks better than your regular oven too. And as if you needed more cause not to turn on your large oven, this one uses 50% less energy but has all of the same features, plus a 90-minute auto-shutoff which is incredibly smart.

The 1500W countertop Oster toaster oven comes with 2 oven racks, a broiling rack, and a baking pan.

Oster Roaster Oven Review

There’s nothing quite like a roast, and believe me, the right pan makes a big difference. There’s just one roaster oven in this category, and below, you’ll read all about it.

Oster 16-Quart Roaster Oven with Self-Basting Lid, Black Review

There’s a reason why cheap products exist—they don’t give you the same cooking experience as a quality pan. If you love juicy meats and perfectly tender veggies, this pan is a must.

It can fit a 20-lb turkey or 5 heads of cauliflower—whichever you find yourself roasting. But here’s the cool part: it saves you 30% more time and uses 36% less energy than a traditional oven will.

If you’re not into roasting, it bakes and slow cooks too. If you are, you’ll enjoy features like the self-basting lid, as well as defrost and keep warm settings. Heating from 150°F to 450°F, your Oster roaster oven will come equipped with a removable enamel-on-steel roasting pan.

Oster Air Fryer Review

Are air fryers the revelation of our time? Buy one and find out. Those who own one swear by it and love how versatile it can be. Oster has 2 different air fryers in its collection, a 5-quart and 3.3-quart model. The details of its best-sellers are below.

Oster Titanium-Infused DuraCeramic 3.3-Quart Air Fryer Review

The importance of cutting back on fried foods isn’t a secret, but yet, fresh batches of french fries, donuts, and chicken wings never stop calling. And we answer because they’re downright delicious. Hey, we’re only human. But that’s where an air fryer comes in.

The Titanium-Infused DuraCeramic 3.3-Quart Air Fryer gives you the same crisp you love but uses 99.5% less oil (compared to 4-quart deep fryers). Giving you enough space to cook for game day with the guys, your fryer comes with a lift-out basket for easy cooking.

Many people find that the quality of French fries cooked in an air fryer is similar to that of traditionally fried fries[2], with a crispy exterior and soft interior.

With temps up to 400 degrees, 30-minute timer, and a ready-to-eat alert, don’t be surprised if this PFOA and PTFE-free Oster air fryer becomes your go-to tool.

Oster Rice Cooker Review

If perfect, fluffy rice is your goal, you’ve got to get a rice cooker. It’s one of the kitchen essentials you didn’t know you needed. Oster makes 2 different kinds of rice cookers. They look similar and hold 6 cups but one is non-stick. You’ll meet its best-seller up next.

Oster 6 Cup Rice Cooker Review

The beauty of a rice cooker is its set-it-and-forget quality. There’s no boiling or overflow on your stove, just toss the rice in and you’re done. As a machine, it’s super easy to use as well, requiring just one touch to get it started. When done, you’ll have perfect rice every time, it’s literally foolproof.

With a 6-cup capacity, you can make rice for your dinner party and go about your business. Because it has an auto-shutoff, you can never burn it. Accompanied by a steaming tray, measuring cup, and ladle. Enjoy the peace you never knew a simple appliance could make with the Oster Rice Cooker.

Oster Waffle Maker Review

Just the thought of a waffle maker is enough to drum up hunger. Oster offers 7 different types including square and circular models, 2-in-1 grills, and ones made from titanium. Up next, you’ll read all about their best-seller.

Oster DiamondForce Belgian Waffle Maker with Removable Plates Review

If you have a waffle maker, you’ll always have delicious, easy breakfasts and desserts. The DiamondForce Belgian Waffle Maker with Removable Plates isn’t your average waffle maker though. It’s large enough to make 4 square waffles—which you can either share or enjoy in all of their glory.

Made with DiamondForce non-stick coating, you can count on your new maker to last longer than other models, helping to release your waffles easily so that they’re perfect every time. The best part? The plates are actually removable and safe for the dishwasher. Plus, they’re PFOA-free and scratch resistant.

With a stainless steel exterior, this Oster waffle make is one you’ll want to keep out all the time.

Oster Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Oster Review

This Oster review hangs on customer feedback. After all, do you really want to buy a blender that’s just going to break in 6 months? To find out what this brand (and its products) are made from, in this section, I’ve compiled a bunch of feedback that sheds light on the situation.

The first place I checked was Oster.com. Below, you’ll see a short list of ratings for some of its best-selling products.

  • DiamondForce™ Belgian Waffle Maker with Removable Plates: 4.8/5 stars, 31 reviews
  • 6 Cup Rice Cooker: 3.6/5 stars, 38 reviews
  • Titanium-Infused DuraCeramic 3.3-Quart Air Fryer: 4.1/5 stars, 46 reviews
  • 16-Quart Roaster Oven with Self-Basting Lid, Black: 3.8/5 stars, 25 reviews

Is a home without a waffle maker really a home? According to customers, the DiamondForce™ Belgian Waffle Maker with Removable Plates is really easy to use and clean— two very important points that are demonstrated in the following Oster review. It reads:

The Oster® DiamondForce™ Belgian Waffle Maker with Removable Plates was so easy to use. The plates are removable and was easy for me to remove, wash and put them back. I love waffles and I made some and they were delicious. I love that it was so easy to use and clean it.

In case you missed it, if there’s one thing this customer thinks the waffle maker is, it’s easy to use. Others say they love it because of its size, but no matter what, it seems that customers really do love this machine. Is the same kind of feedback standard for all Oster products? I hit up Best Buy and checked out the Classic Series 8 Speed Blender to find out.

There, the blender was awarded 4.6/5 stars from 566 shoppers. Already, we’re off to a great start. Let’s look into an Oster review in the comments section to find out why folks like it so much.

Purchased this several months ago. Just started using it almost daily. I’ve started making fruit smoothies each morning. Really love this blender. Easy to use and clean.”

When it comes to appliances, the fact that they are easy to clean is critical. Have you ever tried to wash a blender only to discover it didn’t actually do much? It’s super common. Here’s another Oster review that gives insight into what the Classic Series 8 Speed Blender is like to use:

I have been pleasantly surprised at how powerful, quiet, and compact this awesome blender is!! We are pleased with our purchase and would definitely recommend it to others.”

94% of people who bought the Classic Series 8 Speed Blender said they would recommend it to a friend. The 1.7 Liter Kettle Variable Temperature has similar feedback on Amazon, with 87 shoppers giving it a 4.2/5 star score. Here’s how it breaks down:

  • 5 stars: 63%
  • 4 stars: 11%
  • 3 stars: 16%
  • 2 stars: 7%
  • 1 star: 3%

One customer wrote an Oster review that read, “This is my second. I bought my first 3 years ago and have used it endlessly since. I had a formula fed baby, who would only drink warm bottles and this was a godsend. It still survived another 2 years of intense tea drinking after that. I replaced it after 3 years of hard use.”

It sounds like the 1.7 Liter Kettle Variable Temperature stands up to serious use. But in general, all of the products I’ve checked out so far come highly recommended and are easy to use and clean. That makes the next section of this Oster review really easy.

Is Oster Legit?

Oster Review

Oster is 100% legit and has been since it launched in 1924. Sold in stores around the world, it’s one people choose for value.

Oster doesn’t appear to have a profile on the Better Business Bureau for its business as a whole. I found a page for Oster Appliance Support that has an A+ score and no complaints, but thankfully, I was able to see how the brand handles customer complaints at Best Buy.

Under each of the Oster reviews—good or bad—a representative responded, either thanking them or offering a resolution. To me, that’s great customer service, and I didn’t find any evidence elsewhere that suggests otherwise. All in all, Oster checks out.

Is Oster Worth It?

Oster Review

In terms of appliances, Oster is a pretty iconic brand. It’s been around for almost a century and has lasted that long because it has smart branding, gives customers what they want, has great prices, and makes durable products.

Feedback for this brand was great no matter where I looked, and though I did see some issues with product defects, it appears that many of them fall under a warranty and that Oster does a great job at honoring that. So are they worth it? Undoubtedly.

Oster Promotions & Discounts

Oster Review

So here’s something I learned while writing this Oster review: the brand doesn’t sell its products directly online. Of course, that means that it doesn’t offer any promotions there either. To find discounts on Oster products, I recommend checking out the ones available from its retail partners.

Where to Buy Oster

Oster Review

Oster is a worldwide brand. You can find it in many retailers around the world if you prefer to shop in person. If you’d like to shop online, head to Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, or Bed, Bath & Beyond.

FAQ

Who owns Oster?

Oster Review

Sunbeam Products now owns Oster. Originally, it was created by John Oster back in 1924. Over the years, it’s had multiple claims to fame, including men’s electric clippers and irons. Today, it’s more so known for its blenders.

Does Oster ship internationally?

Oster doesn’t ship internationally but many of the brands it partners with does. Refer to the shipping policy of the brand you wish to shop with for more information about this or search for stores that carry Oster products in your area.

What is Oster’s Shipping Policy?

Oster doesn’t offer shopping on any of its websites, yet its Canadian one has some basic shipping information. It states that they will ship within the 10 provinces and 3 territories but not to any other locations. You can pick from:

  • Standard: $7-$20
  • Expedited: $15-$44

This information may not be relevant to you, so I suggest referring to the shipping policy of the retailer you choose to shop with.

What is Oster’s Return Policy?

Again, this depends on where you buy your products from. In the US, it doesn’t look like you can return a product to Oster directly, but you can in Canada. Since Oster doesn’t offer shopping directly on its website, you’ll need to refer to the return policy of whichever brand you bought your products from.

Now, with that said, the Canadian version of Oster’s site has return information which I’ll include below for those who live in the Great North.

  1. You have 30 days to start the return process
  2. All products must be in their original condition with all of their packaging
  3. You’ll need to fill out the bottom part of the packing slip and include it with your return package
  4. Choose a traceable shipping method
  5. You will be responsible for all shipping costs
  6. Send your items to the following address:

Attn: E-Commerce Returns

Newell Industries Canada ULC

20B Hereford Street

Brampton, Ontario, Canada

L6Y 0M1

If you would like to make a warranty claim instead, call 1-800-667-8623 and let them know. Most Oster items are warranted for 1 year, but to find out if your warranty coverage is shorter or longer, check the back of your instruction manual. If your claim is approved, your item will be replaced with one of equal or lesser value.
