Overview of Stretch Lab

Stretch Lab Review

Stretching is often considered a small part of a fitness routine, usually an add-on before or after intensive workouts. With that in mind, it then seems rather bizarre to have an entire fitness center dedicated to such a quick warmup or cooldown.

While its typically regarded as loose training, founders Jeff Flores and RJ Wamsley believed otherwise. Stretching is key to improving your quality of life, which inevitably led to the creation of Stretch Lab in 2015.

Headquartered in Santa Monica, California, Stretch Lab is run by a team of trained flexologists. Their services are designed to increase energy, flexibility, and physical mobility by using manual stretching techniques.

Before I kickstart my Stretch Lab review, let’s go over some brand highlights.

Highlights

  • Customized assisted stretch sessions
  • More in-depth than self-taught warmups
  • Run by trained flexologists
  • Improve posture and reduce stress
  • Casual workout experience
  • Can book a group session of up to 6
  • Available in select locations

Your morning stretch can be your new cup of coffee. Rising your arms, untangling your back, and straining your legs first thing in the morning does wonders in shaking the sleep out of you.

That brief sense of euphoria is something that Stretch Lab intends to provide to its clientele. Their team of professionals is trained to get you all loosey-goosey. You can practically say goodbye to short-term stiffness.

Available in select locations, Stretch Labs takes walk-ins and appointments. If this is your first-time ‘flexing,’ I’ll cover some specs to keep in mind in the next portion of my Stretch Lab review.

The stresses of modern-day life have turned our bodies into a battleground. Typing away at a computer encourages bad posture, long-term sitting results in back pain, and carrying around a heavy laptop bag is bound to develop some shoulder stiffness.

While most settle for a Salon Pas or a quick Tylenol, they’re typically temporary solutions. So what’s a better alternative? If you’re an exercise geek, chances are that you’ve heard of Stretch Lab, a fitness center dedicated to unloosening those physical knots

Designed for all demographics, Stretch Lab doesn’t rely on fancy equipment to help you get back up and running. Instead, their team of flexologists will aid you in every stretch, as all recruits undergo intensive training at the Institute of Credentialing Excellence. Benefits of using their services include improved sports performance and increased physical mobility

Looking to improve your overall well-being? If so, I’ll go over their services, sessions, and available memberships in the next segment of my Stretch Lab review.

How Does Stretch Lab Work?

Stretch Lab Review

As I mentioned, Stretch Lab accepts walk-ins and appointments, but the brand recommends that you call them ahead of time so that you can get started right away. Walk-ins will come with a fee for their appointments, but in terms of memberships, customers can choose from four different plans.

The company has yet to disclose the prices on its website, as they only list its available programs. While I did find a few outside sources that spoke about their subscription costs, it’s best to phone the brand directly to ensure updated information:

  1. 4 sessions per month (25 or 50 minutes)
  2. 8 sessions per month (25 or 50 minutes)
  3. 12 sessions per month (25 or 50 minutes)
  4. Unlimited (Group Stretches)

There are two types of one-on-one stretches that they offer: 25 and 50-minute sessions. The shorter warmup is more of a basic overview, as your assigned flexologist will concentrate on major muscle groups.

The 50-minute workout is obviously more intensive. In these sessions, you are treated to a full body stretch to help minimize aches and pains.

If you prefer a hands-off approach, it’s worth including in my Stretch Lab review that they offer group sessions where they teach you some basic stretches.

Who Is Stretch Lab For?

Stretch Lab Review

Fitness centers are just for workout geeks, right? When it comes to Stretch Lab, everyone is invited. Their services are geared toward athletes, those who love exercise, and those who suffer from chronic pain.

You can even use their sessions to alleviate occasional aches, such as back and shoulder stiffness. While all ages are accepted, you need to be at least 18 (or have parental consent) to sign up. In terms of Stretch Lab prices, this fitness membership is quite expensive, based on my research.

Stretch Lab Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Stretch Lab Review

The best gym memberships are often expensive. Stretch Lab is no exception, as some customers found their services quite pricey. That said, the cost can usually be overlooked if the experience is worth it. While the brand has yet to publish comments on its official page, I found some positive Stretch Lab review scores online:

  • Facebook: 90 votes with 4.2/5 stars
  • Yelp (for their Californian location): 94 reviews with 4.5/5 stars
  • Apple App Store: 2.7k ratings with 4.7/5 stars

Professionally run and indispensable in providing relief, clients are quite satisfied with their experiences with Stretch Lab. Others reported that their flexologists helped remedy body aches and pains.

One reviewer on Yelp wrote: “Great stretch with Sebastian!  Highly recommend!  Nice deep stretch, with great pressure. My body felt tingly and so wonderful after! Also, the communication was great and he was able to get the areas I needed!  Highly recommend him.”

I received a gift certificate and loved my 50-minute stretch tremendously. My arthritic hips felt much better afterward and I slept better that night,” another client shared on the brand’s Facebook page.

Independent blogs, such as Millennial Hawk, also offered a positive review of the brand. The author concluded that their stretches helped to improve physical well-being. It’s the perfect mix between casual workouts and professional expertise

“I genuinely think that each session in the Stretch Lab got me more flexible and mobile. I am a creature of habit and prefer to stick to my own tried-and-true routines. However, I also love to try new things and if there is a new concept, I just can’t ignore it. I highly recommend this place to everyone who needs to stretch more and does not have the time or skills to do it themselves.”

Given the vast amount of positive Stretch Lab reviews, I think it’s safe to say that the brand passes the legitimacy test. I didn’t find any concerning testimonials within my research, which is something worth considering if you’re still on the fence about this fitness center.

Is Stretch Lab Worth It?

If you learned anything from my Stretch Lab review, stretching is an unmissable step in improving your physical well-being. If you’re looking for something more than YouTube tutorials, Stretch Lab’s team of in-house professionals are trained to improve your flexibility and overall mobility.

While it’s considered a hefty investment by some, it’s definitely worth adding to your New Year’s Resolutions if you really want to prioritize your health.
