Overview of Universal Furniture
Not every furniture retailer has thousands of quality options, but this one does. More importantly, it has thousands of in-stock options, meaning you won’t have to wait months for yours to arrive.
Founded in 1968, Universal Furniture is a part of Samson Holdings, which is said to be the largest vertically integrated manufacturer of furniture in the world. If this little fact doesn’t hint at the success of this brand, you can take a look at its features in Southern Living, Coastal Living, or Food & Wine.
Better yet, why not browse through their inventory of thousands of sophisticated pieces? With a look of luxury, their on-trend furniture merges classic and modern design to create timeless allure.
It is important to note that you can’t buy the company’s pieces directly online but you can use the website to help you find them at a local store.
I’ll introduce you to a selection of what’s available soon, but first, you’ll read all about the brand’s highlights.
- Large inventory of bedroom, living room, dining room, and outdoor furniture
- High-quality, well-made pieces
- Industrial & modern styles
- Luxury for less
- Extensive sale section
Universal Furniture Review
Head to the brand’s website and you’ll discover furniture for every room in your home from nightstands to WFH desks. So my Universal Furniture review would never end if I featured every product they sold. In that case, I’ll just stick to their best-sellers.
Universal Furniture The Guest Room King Bed Review
This oiled bronze bed frame fused old-world style with contemporary charm. It’s simple but stands out when finished with creamy white bedding and luxuriously fluffy, oversized pillows.
With curved edges and knobby detailing, the Guest Room King Bed has undeniable style. Standing 9.5” off the ground, it provides enough space for guests to store their suitcases or for a patterned rug to slide elegantly underneath.
Universal Furniture Celine Console Review
With a natural oak finish, the Celine Console is simple yet modern, contrasting the light-colored look of wood with an ebony-toned cover. Finished with metal knobs and dainty handles, this unique table fits in well with mid-century modern furniture and dark and neutral colors.
At 70” by 19” by 34”, you can place it in your entryway or living room and fill it with games, books, and entertaining necessities.
Universal Furniture Chesapeake Arm Chair Review
The Chesapeake Arm Chair is perhaps the perfect outdoor seat. Bringing together comfort, class, and an outdoor-friendly design, its low-back construction is contemporary while the wicker lends coastal allure.
Measuring 23” x 22” x 33”, the chair itself is made from grade-A natural teak while the cushion is made from canvas, available in your choice of over 25 colors including sandstone and moss.
Without the cushion, the seat is 18” high and you can fit it with your own cushion should you prefer to do so.
Universal Furniture Dining Table Review
Because the Universal Furniture dining table selection is so impressive, they get their very own section. While the brand makes tables in rustic style, most of its designs are industrial. Up next, you’ll read all about their best-sellers.
Universal Furniture Linden Dining Table Review
There is elegance in simplicity, and the Linden Dining Table just happens to have both. Made from a brownstone wood and stainless steel construction, the 88” x 38” x 20” table is sturdy and seats 6 comfortably with room for 8.
With an industrial look, complete your table with dark metal chairs and geometric decor to set the tone. You’re in luck since this table is currently available for 25% off.
Universal Furniture Desmond Dining Table Review
The Desmond Dining Table has a similar industrial charm, contrasting grey-toned wood against shiny metallic legs. Its design is a little more complex than the last table I highlighted in my Universal Furniture review, with U-shaped legs that are fixed to either end.
Measuring 84” by 38” by 30”, it’s ideal for 6 guests but can fit up to 8. Think of matching your decor to this table, as it really will be the focal point of the room.
Universal Furniture Jamison Dining Table Review
Another industrial design, the Jamison Dining Table pairs together a charcoal-finished wood top with a bronze base. Its metal legs feature a crisscrossing design, one running vertically and the others horizontally fixed at either end of the table.
It’s quite a roomy table, measuring 108” x 38” x 30” which means it can accommodate larger chairs or give your guests more space if they would like.
While this table is currently out of stock, Universal Furniture says it will be available again in less than 45 days.
Who Is Universal Furniture For?
Universal Furniture has quite a wide selection of pieces for your living room, bedroom, and outdoor spaces.
Its style is a mix of industrial, modern, and mid-century, though you’ll find some coastal and bohemian pieces in their collection as well. With that in mind, the brand is a fantastic pick for anyone looking for design-forward furniture.
Universal Furniture Reviews: What Do Customers Think?
This wouldn’t be a complete Universal Furniture review if I didn’t show you what customers thought about this brand. So in this section, that’s exactly what I’ll do. Since the brand doesn’t sell its products directly online, I couldn’t find any reviews on its website.
So my first stop for feedback was Wayfair. To give you a good look at how customers enjoyed a variety of its products, I put together this list of ratings:
- Devon Low Profile Standard Bed: 4.7/5 stars, 807 reviews
- Playlist Coffee Table: 4.8/5 stars, 74 reviews
- Carlton Coffee Table: 4.7/5 stars, 47 reviews
- Devon 2-Drawer Nightstand: 4.7/5 stars, 342 reviews
Looking into the comments section for the Devon Low Profile Standard Bed, customers seem pleased with its quality and look. One Universal Furniture review read:
“Absolutely LOVE this bed!!! I ordered the oak color and it is actually a bit lighter in color than my pictures show. It is very heavy and solid!!! My two sons put it together in about 10 minutes.”
Not only is it high quality and solid, but it’s easy to put together. What else could you ask for? Other comments said that it’s comparable to higher-priced furniture, and all of the pieces arrived very well packaged. Is this kind of experience had by all? I checked out Amazon to find out.
There, I saw a 5-star score for the Playlist 2-Drawer Nightstand, it read: “Love them! They match my Universal dresser perfectly and made the look of the room. Perfect height, great quality, and functional.”
Good furniture has the power to affect how much you enjoy your home, so it makes sense to choose something you love. Even though this is just one review, this kind of feedback is common for Universal Furniture.
Here’s another, this time from a discussion board on Houzz.com: “I purchased a big cabinet unit by Universal that I’m using as a pantry. I’ve only had it for a month but it seems very solid and well built to me. It is HEAVY. The delivery guys were cursing trying to bring it into the house.”
Heavy furniture is usually a sign of solid wood which is what high-quality pieces are made from. From everything I’ve read, it seems that Universal Furniture does indeed have quality, durable, and long-lasting pieces that customers love.
Is Universal Furniture Legit?
To find out if a brand is legit, I usually look deep into comments and check their profile on the Better Business Bureau. While the BBB has given Universal Furniture a C+ score, there’s only one complaint there made within the last 22 years.
That’s not exactly a cause for alarm since it doesn’t indicate a pattern of unfavorable behavior. All things considered, Universal Furniture checks out and shoppers don’t have to worry about shipping or product quality.
Is Universal Furniture Worth It?
Judging from everything I’ve learned from reading Universal Furniture reviews, I think the brand is worth it. With luxurious pieces, I’m in love with this brand’s high-quality designs.
And high quality is truly what they are, with most being made from real wood and metal which means you’ll likely have your new furniture for years to come.
Universal Furniture Promotions & Discounts
Since this is a Universal Furniture review, I had to scope out the brand’s website for deals. A couple of the brand’s items were on sale, but the main attraction is their sale section.
Here, you can find products up to 50% off! It’s definitely worth checking out next time you’re looking for furniture.
Where to Buy Universal Furniture
As I mentioned before, you can’t buy Universal Furniture directly from its website. Instead, the brand partners with retailers like Wayfair. To shop, visit wayfair.com or use the Find a Store feature to locate a Universal Furniture outlet near you.
Who owns Universal Furniture?
Samson Holdings Ltd owns Universal Furniture. Based in Hong Kong, the company owns 14 different furniture brands around the globe.
Where Is Universal Furniture Made?
Since Samson Holdings has numerous factories in China, we can suspect that its furniture is made there too.
Does Universal Furniture ship internationally?
You’ll have to shop with one of the brand’s partner retailers to find that out. Universal Furniture does not ship products from its warehouse directly to you.
What is Universal Furniture’s Shipping Policy?
The folks at Universal Furniture say they’re experts at making furniture, not selling it. That means you cannot buy its pieces directly from its online site.
To read more about how shipping works, refer to the shipping policy of the retailer you plan to shop with.
What is Universal Furniture’s Return Policy?
Since Universal Furniture doesn’t sell its products directly online, you will need to refer to the return policy of the dealer you buy from.
