Waterdrop CoreRO Countertop Reverse Osmosis System Review

First things first in this Waterdrop CoreRO Review: The Waterdrop CoreRO uses a Reverse Osmosis (RO) Filter to capture dissolved solids and sediment. But what does that actually mean and how does it compare to other types of popular water filtration methods?

Reverse Osmosis vs. Activated Carbon Filtration for Drinking Water

Did you know that 85% of the US population uses hard water? But what is hard water and why isn’t it optimal for consumption? Hard water is water with a high mineral content and as this study suggests, there is a clear link between the “risk for cardiovascular disease, growth retardation, reproductive failure, and other health problems and hardness of drinking water or its content of magnesium and calcium.”

With this in mind (among other health issues linked to hard water consumption and use), the need for cleaner, safer, and healthier drinking water is clear. While pitcher filter models can be effective, they use activated carbon to filter out minerals and dissolved solids. These types of filters have their limits and cannot remove “microbial contaminants (such as bacteria and viruses), calcium, and magnesium (hard water minerals), fluoride, nitrate, and many other compounds,” as told in Drinking Water Treatment: Activated Carbon Filtration in the University of Nebraska’s NebGuide.

On the other hand, reverse osmosis (RO) systems use “a semi-permeable membrane to remove ions, molecules, and larger particles from drinking water” as stated in a study called Reverse Osmosis Technology, its Applications and Nano-Enabled Membrane published in the International Journal of Advanced Research in Chemical Science (IJARCS).

The same study reveals that RO filtration “is effective in getting rid of dissolved chemicals and heavy metals such as nitrate, sodium, crypto sporidium, fluoride, sulphides, giardia, arsenic, mercury, uranium, radium and lead. It is also effective in getting rid of harmful bacteria and chloride from water as it passes through the thin semi-permeable membranes.

Waterdrop CoreRO Features

Waterdrop CoreRO Review

With that bit of science out of the way, what else can you look forward to with the Waterdrop CoreRO? The first notable feature of the machine is its size. In fact, it’s so compact that it can fit every countertop. If you have a tiny apartment and kitchen, yes, this machine is still for you.

Next, let’s talk about how easy it is to operate. With a smart-touch screen for TDS real-time displaying and filter life monitoring, you will know exactly when it’s time to change your filter and you’ll know exactly how many total dissolved solids (TDS) are currently in your water. How does it do it? With 5 stages of RO filtration. The unit is certified for safety with NSF/ANSI 372 lead-free material standard and is SGS-tested.

Choose from 5 pre-set volume options including 4 oz up to 24oz and customized amounts to get the amount of water you need. Another notable feature? The 3:1 ratio of filtered water to wastewater. You’ll need water to flush waste particles into to make it easy to get rid of them, so some water will be used in this process. Still, the 3:1 ratio is great compared to other RO systems.

You can expect about 12 months of life from your RO filter before you need to change it. Compare that with a pitcher filter that only lasts 1 month. As for the design, you’ll love how sleek the Waterdrop CoreRO is, and a personal favorite feature of mine is the portable pure water tank. Pop it out of the system and into your fridge to chill your water for the day. With a 40oz (5 cups) capacity, you’ll have plenty of water to get you through your morning.

Waterdrop C1S Countertop CoreRO System Review

We all need water to survive, but many of us don’t know exactly how toxic our water supply is. The Waterdrop CoreRO is for anyone who would like safer, cleaner, healthier, and better-tasting drinking water. Some customers also use the Waterdrop CoreRO for cooking and to humidify their homes in the winter. Whatever you use water for, if you want to increase the quality and filter out sediment and dissolved solids, I think you’ll love this design.

Thanks to its attractive design and compact size, it’s a great choice for homes of all sizes. But you don’t have to restrict this little number to the kitchen. Bring it to your home office or bedroom to get a fresh supply of water all day long.

Waterdrop CoreRO Countertop Reverse Osmosis System Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Waterdrop C1S Countertop CoreRO System Review

Online shopping is convenient, but reading the reviews of a product is key in finding one that’s right for your life. I’ve compiled a list of ratings and reviews here to give you a better idea of if the Waterdrop CoreRO will be.

The first bit of feedback comes from Trustpilot where the brand has an overall score of 4.6/5 stars and 2,329 reviews. Here’s a look at the rating snapshot:

  • 5-star: 82%
  • 4-star: 8%
  • 3-star: 3%
  • 2-star: 1%
  • 1-star: 6%

One Waterdrop CoreRO review read, “Huge upgrade from a countertop RO made by a different manufacturer. It has a small footprint about the size of a standard Keurig. I also like the clean design, TDS meter, and the fact that it creates less waste water. It’s new, so I can’t speak to the lifecycle of the cartridge, but it’s nice to have one vs a few. The water tastes excellent as well. They thought of every detail.

The size and performance of the Waterdrop CoreRO are fantastic. Of course, looks don’t hurt either. Amazon held similar reviews, but let’s peek at the snapshot for the 4.6/5 star rating first. Here’s how 18 customers rated the CoreRO:

  • 5 stars: 82%
  • 4 stars: 10%
  • 3 stars: 0%
  • 2 stars: 0%
  • 1 star: 9%

Of the taste and design, one customer wrote the following in their Waterdrop CoreRO review: “Great tasting water and the perfect design. Just hope the filter lasts at least a year. This was an expensive purchase I thought about for a while, but it’s great. I enjoy drinking the water and I notice other water doesn’t taste good to me anymore. I also use this for my humidifier and that saves me over about $1.50 a day in winter on distilled water.

Mentioning the difference between the Waterdrop CoreRO and a Pur Filter, the same customer revealed, “When I used filtered tap water through a Pur filter in my humidifier, my air quality showed as bad and I noticed a white film on surfaces. This RO system works so well I don’t have that concern anymore.

We’ve got space for one more bit of feedback in this Waterdrop CoreRO review, and I thought this one was helpful:

Product takes about 20 minutes to initially to flush but after this process is done screen functions are easy to use. We got this as a replacement to bottled water from Costco and should pay for itself in about a year.

So, what does it all mean? The Waterdrop CoreRO is super convenient, easy to use, pays for itself, produces great-tasting and high-quality water, and is undeniably worth it.

Is Waterdrop Legit?

Waterdrop C1S Countertop CoreRO System Review

Waterdrop is as legit as they come. They’re listed on the BBB and sold in a handful of reputable retailers like Amazon, Target, and Walmart.

Is the Waterdrop CoreRO It?

Waterdrop C1S Countertop CoreRO System Review

When weighing the price of the Waterdrop CoreRO against the purity of the water, the convenience, and the taste, it’s more than worth it. Customers love the size and look of the machine too, and as one shopper so perfectly put it “They thought of everything”. I can’t get behind products like this one enough–especially as someone who is super picky about the water I drink.

I never thought I could get reverse osmosis water from a countertop machine and always assumed I’d be drinking from a filter pitcher for the rest of my life. Unlike the pitcher designs with filters that last only a month, the Waterdrop Waterdrop CoreRO has a filter that can last up to a year.

Of course, this design is more expensive than a pitcher, but that’s to be expected when you increase the filtration, convenience, and aesthetic of a product. But if you’re someone who buys bottled water to drink, cook, and humidify, you will most certainly get that money back.

Waterdrop C1S Countertop CoreRO System Review

What is the filtration performance of the RO water system?

The countertop RO water filter has a multi-stage filtration process that reduces sediments, chlorine, fluoride, and other impurities. It will reduce more than 99% of dissolved solids from tap water. In other words, the filtration performance of the RO water system is exceptional.

How does the water quality from this RO system compare to bottled water?

The water produced by the RO system is on par or can sometimes exceed bottled water. With a 5-step filtration process, it removes fine particles and dissolved solids, resulting in incredibly pure water.

One of the many things I like about the RO system is how user-friendly it is. It’s designed for DIY installation and requires a very minimal setup. You’ll receive step-by-step instructions in your system manual, but if you need extra help, Waterdrop offers 24/7 support.

How long does the filtration system last before needing a replacement?

How long your filter lasts depends on your usage and the quality of your local water source. On average, the filter of your RO system should be replaced annually, but you may find that you need to replace it more frequently if your water supply is particularly hard and you use it constantly.
