About Yummie

Yummie Review

Yummie helps you embrace your shape with its collection of figure-flattering shapewear. With a range of compression from levels 1-5, the brand’s array of shaping tops, bottoms, and clothing curves with the female figure to hug your body, not constrict it.

Founded by a Real New York Housewife from the hit reality TV show, the brand has gathered much attention from notable media outlets like PureWow, WWD, and even CNN. Its social community boasts over 100k followers who have flocked to the brand for its innovative underwear and apparel.

In this Yummie review, we’ll take a close look at the brand and its best-selling shapewear, shimmy our way into some customer feedback, and accentuate any promotions we discover along the way. By the end, you’ll be able to decide if the company’s shapewear provides the support you need.

Overview of Yummie

Yummie Review

With a goal to help you look your best, Yummie is as much about looks as it is about comfort. Founded in 2008 by Heather Thomson-Schindler, the Real Housewife was no stranger to the desire to look and feel her best.

Heather was the face behind the brand—which back then was called Yummie Tummie—until 2015 when Eric Rothfeld took over as CEO. Recognizing that the company offered more than just tummy-shaping apparel, he removed the word to help consumers get a better idea of its expansive selection.

Yummie’s website says that its figure-friendly shapers are “a hug, not a squeeze,” and that’s probably the most important part of the brand’s makeup. Originally launched as an alternative to constrictive shapewear resembling that of an 1800s torture device (aka a corset), the brand gained a following for its soft, streamlining tops that actually stayed in place.

Headquartered in New York, Yummie is sold in stores across the US and Canada. Ready to dive into all that this brand has to offer? We’re so there with you, but first, let’s take a look at a few points.

Yummie Shapewear Review

Yummie Shapewear is an all-embracing selection of tanks, shorts, and dresses offered in a neutral color theme with a few fun shades thrown in now and again.

Interested in a certain level of compression? You can browse styles by your desired level. Next, this Yummie review will introduce the brand’s best-selling items available in sizes S/M – 1X/2X.

Yummie Cooling FX Wear Your Own Bra Shaping Singlet Bodysuit Review

You know when you see pictures of celebrities with streamlined bodies they’re wearing shapewear, right? Just another thing that makes us feel a little more insecure, but the silver lining here is that we can share their secret to get the same smooth bod.

The Yummie Cooling FX Wear Your Own Bra Shaping Singlet Bodysuit crushes a lot of the problems you have with other shapewear. First of all, you wear your own bra with it. So, you can decide on your level of support, push-up, or if you want to go au-natural.

Made from a cooling NILIT Breeze fabric that moves heat away from your body (goodbye, sweat stains!), you’ll get a mid-level of compression that tucks your tummy and provides 360-degrees of shaping. Thoughtful details like soft elastic around the neck and arms do your body a solid for long bouts of wear, while the ruching at the back brings that booty to life.

This shaper is actually on sale right now for just $30, normally $58. Get it in frappe or black.

Yummie Pearl Tummie 3-Panel Shaping Tank Review

This design was actually the very first one the brand ever launched, and the reason it’s so popular today. Featuring three panels to support, shape, and lift your tummy and chest, you’ll get a level 4/5 on the compression scale with this one.

Compatible with a bra up to a size G, the tank has wide straps, but lighter compression across your bust so you won’t feel or look suffocated. The shaping tank is made from Outlast temperature controlling fabric and a mix of polyester and spandex.

See what the Yummie Pearl Tummie 3-Panel Shaping Tank can do for you in English rose, white, almond, or black for $48.

Yummie Leggings Review

The Yummie Leggings line is packed with modern prints like snakeskin and piles on the slick, vegan leather look. With a great range of styles from activewear and shaping to shorts and capris, you’ll find its best-sellers in sizes XS-3X.

Yummie Faux Leather Shaping Legging with Side Zip Review

Leggings ARE pants, and they’re here to stay. The debate about if the activewear staple should be allowed to be worn as regular pants has gone and passed, the majority ruling for comfort, convenience, and cute prints.

Made to resemble the same looks as pants, the Yummie Faux Leather Shaping Leggings take a page from rock history with their sleek, edgy look that features a zipper at the ankle. Of course, with Yummie, in addition to a rad style, you’re getting 4-way stretch and 360-degrees of shaping.

To complement your figure, these polyester and spandex leggings have a 2-ply waistband that’s shaped to accentuate an hourglass shape, while the back of the waistband curves up to lift your butt. Get a pair in medieval blue, black, or Zinfandel for $48.

Yummie Denim Shaping Legging Review

Love the look of jeans but the comfort of leggings? The Yummie Denim Shaping Legging gives you the best of both worlds. They come in five different washes that dress up nicely with a white button-down and heels or simple tee and sneaks.

Made from cotton with a touch of spandex, these leggings have 4-way stretch and a 2-ply waistband to give you that coveted hourglass shape and lift your butt at the same time. Merge comfort with looks for $78.

Yummie Bras Review

One thing we noticed about the Yummie Bras collection is that it doesn’t offer padded or push-ups. Both are known for harsh underwire, and since that doesn’t exactly scream comfort, the brand decided to keep things soft and seamless.

Instead, you’ll find a sweet variety of bralettes, bandeaus, active, and lacy bras to compliment your body and never restrict it. You’ll find the brand’s top-seller below, available in sizes S/M-L/XL.

Yummie Audrey Unlined Bralette Review

Sweaty boobs. They’re a thing that doesn’t have to be a thing, you know? The Yummie Audrey Unlined Bra keeps things cool with a temperature regulating fabric that helps air flow through.

The simple v-neck and thin, adjustable straps make it a great pick for tees and tanks, but you’ll still get a light amount of bust support thanks to its unique knit. There are no wires, no clasps, no bobbles, just a simple, effective bra in black, white, frappe, or plum caspina colors.

It’s made from a mix of Tencel, Outlast viscose, nylon, and spandex that flattens your sides and prevents rolls. Feel the difference for $38.

Yummie Underwear Review

In the Yummie Underwear collection, you’ll find a generous range of briefs, thongs, and shapers, all seamless to stay invisible under form-fitting dresses and polyester pants.

The brand’s shapers seem to come in neutral colors only, but its seamless panties shake things up with adventurous shades of mauve, peach, and airy blues. Just below, this Yummie review will showcase its best-selling pair of underwear made in sizes XS/S-2X/3X.

Yummie Ultralight Seamless Shaping Brief Review

We’re women, and we’re all too familiar with the lower belly pooch. The one that 7,000 crunches and a 7-day detox won’t make disappear.

No matter your shape, it’s meant to be celebrated, and the Yummie Ultralight Seamless Shaping Brief does your pooch a solid by smoothing things out—in a cool, calming tone of course. And while we’re on the topic of cool tones, these briefs come in six varieties to keep the color flowing in your underwear drawer.

Offering level 2 compression, these lightweight panties are silky soft with a wide 2-ply waistband to flatten your tummy without digging into your sides. Grab a pair for $20.

Who Is Yummie For?

Yummie Review

Yummie is designed for those who want to feel just a little more confident in their clothing. Since shapewear has the ability to provide a sleeker silhouette, it’s perfect for special occasions and slinky dresses.

But since this brand’s underwear is also comfortable (no pinching or constricting), you can pretty much wear it under anything at any time for however long you want.

Yummie Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Yummie Review

Shapewear has been around for over 500 years, but thankfully, modern brands have made it much more comfortable. If you’re going to wear anything, it may as well feel good while it helps make you look good, so in this section of our Yummie review, we’re going to find out if the brand’s body-flattering wear is truly body-friendly as well.

To get things started, we wiggled our way through a smattering of the brand’s top-sellers to check out their scores which you’ll see below:

  • Audrey Unlined Bralette: 4.8/5 stars from 228 reviews
  • Denim Shaping Legging: 4.9/5 stars from 169 reviews
  • Pearl Yummie Tummie 3-Panel Shaping Tank: 4.7/5 stars from 172 reviews
  • Faux Leather Shaping Leggings with Side Zip: 4.7/5 stars from 50 reviews
  • Ultralight Seamless Shaping Brief: 4.7/5 stars from 333 reviews

We decided to take a closer look at the Ultralight Seamless Shaping Brief as it looks to be the brand’s most popular pick. While combing through comments we came across one Yummie review that read:

I have been wearing support panties for decades. I know what I am talking about when it comes to support briefs. These are comfortable; they don’t bind, they feel like they are supporting me while not making me feel like I am suffocating or being stuffed like a sausage. I feel confident.”

We love this comment because it’s a reflection of everything other shoppers said too wrapped up into one. Feeling confident is the key with shapewear, but sometimes, it comes with a price of discomfort. It’s great to read that these briefs do their job and don’t dig in.

For our next bit of feedback, we turned to a Yummie review on a blog called Rave & Review. The site provides honest feedback about brands and either raves about products or doesn’t.

Though Rave & Review doesn’t mention which particular piece of shapewear they tried out, it compares the brand to a handful of others tried in hopes of smoothing out a post-partum tummy. It read:

Yummie Tummie has no stiff parts to poke, does not shift, roll, or shimmy while wearing and the tummy portion is made of a material that does not cling to other fabrics…The magical tummy panel offers support without ever being uncomfortable.

One of the most crucial parts of shapewear is that it doesn’t shift or roll. Yummie wouldn’t be the success it is today if its products did, so to read this review isn’t surprising, but it does help us get a clearer picture of why women love this brand so much.

For our final stop, we trotted on over to Zappos to look into the Rachel Cotton Shaping Legging. Out of the 41 reviews, the leggings were awarded a 4/5 star score that broke down like this:

  • 5 stars: 61%
  • 4 stars: 7%
  • 3 stars: 22%
  • 2 stars: 2%
  • 1 star: 7%

When it comes to leggings, even though they may look the same from afar, no two pairs really are. We wanted to see what was so special about Yummie leggings and if they really could provide some sort of shaping support.

While browsing the rows of positive comments, we found one Yummie review that mentioned their support level and opacity:

These are very nice leggings with good extra support in the midsection. After having my daughter, my belly is not what it used to be, so I really like the higher rise of these. They are thick enough to not have any show through and they do not have any sheen like an athletic legging would.

The majority of reviews we found about Yummie were by those who desired a little extra tummy support. Low-rise pants are great, but they’re designed for those in their teens and 20s for a reason—things start to change a little later on, especially if you’ve had a baby.

Overall, what we found in our research for this section of our Yummie review taught us a lot about how effective the brand’s shapewear is and how much customers appreciate it. We also learned that when compared to others, this brand seems to often come out on top.

Is Yummie Worth It?

Yummie Review

Yummie is one of those brands that’s a no-brainer to buy from—and this type of trust isn’t a given for all web-based companies. When we say trust, we’re not only talking about the safe nature of the brand’s website, but also that choosing them is a safe bet when it comes to quality, effectiveness, and comfort.

We guess a word that would sum up the entire Yummie experience is “confidence,” and that’s a word the brand uses a lot too. Its mission is to build up confidence in those who buy its shapewear, and though confidence can technically come from within, when you look good, you feel good—it’s often as simple as that.

With incredible variety, decent prices, and obviously great results, we think Yummie is worth the buy.
