About Barclay Products

Barclay Products Review

The tub and sink are really the main features of any bathroom or kitchen. Often, they’re what you go in those rooms to use, and finding the right piece can set that room’s entire vibe. That vibe is constantly evolving, as more people shift towards larger bathrooms based on a 2021 survey conducted by the National Kitchen and Bath Association.

That’s why Barclay Products offers such a wide variety of stylish tubs, sinks, and faucets. Sourcing designs from around the world, they have a solid reputation in the world of home renovation. It’s chosen by pros and homeowners alike who are searching for something unique for their bathrooms or kitchens

Today, you may know Barclay as the faucets and sink with the little swan logo, but back in 1933, the brand was actually called Sterline Showers Company. Offering innovative clawfoot tubs that also allowed users to take showers, it made a name for itself as a brand with a vision

In 1974, Sterline Showers was taken over by Leslie Raffel and in 1982, it officially became Barclay Products Limited. Located in Illinois, with Leslie’s vision, the brand began offering designer products from around the globe.

Do they have things that are the right fit for your home? In my Barclay Products review, I’ll help you figure that out. Ahead, I’ll look into the A-Z’s of the brand, including their best-sellers, their materials, their features, customer feedback, FAQ, and more.

Pros and Cons

Barclay Products Review

Pros:

  • Barclay Products offers a wide range of bathroom fixtures and furniture, including sinks, tubs, toilets, and vanities, providing customers with a variety of product options.
  • Customers can expect high-quality materials such as vitreous china, fireclay, and brass to be used in Barclay Products’ products, ensuring long-lasting durability and style.
  • With a range of designs and styles, customers can choose a Barclay Products product that suits their unique preferences and needs, offering personalized options.
  • Barclay Products provides a limited warranty for their products, offering peace of mind and security for customers’ investments.

Cons:

  • The cost of Barclay Products may be higher than some competitors, which could deter customers on a budget from purchasing their products.
  • Shipping and handling costs for Barclay Products may be high, depending on the product and location, which could increase the overall cost of the product and be a potential barrier to purchase.
  • Some reviews suggest that Barclay Products’ products may not be as durable as expected, leading to potential issues with cracks, leaks, and wear over time, which could negatively impact customer satisfaction and lead to additional costs.

Materials

Barclay Products provides a diverse range of sinks and bathtubs that are made from different materials. Here are some of the materials used in their products, along with associated studies:

  1. Cast Iron: Durable and long-lasting, cast iron is used in bathtubs and sinks. It also boasts excellent heat retention properties, making it a perfect choice for soaking tubs.
  2. Acrylic: As a lightweight and cost-effective material, acrylic is commonly used in bathtubs and sinks. Its resistance to cracking, fading, and staining makes it an easy-to-maintain option. A study published in the Journal of Applied Polymer Science examined the mechanical properties of acrylic sheets and found that they have high strength and stiffness.
  3. Fireclay: Fireclay, a type of ceramic material, is highly resistant to scratches, stains, and chipping, which makes it an ideal option for sinks. It is durable and also adds a classic look to any bathroom.
  4. Copper: Sinks made from copper are unique and offer a rustic and antique touch to the bathroom. They are also known for their antimicrobial properties, making them a hygienic option.
  5. Stainless Steel: Sinks made from stainless steel are long-lasting, durable, and corrosion-resistant. They are also easy to maintain, making them an excellent choice for busy households.
  6. Stone: Stone sinks, available in various types such as marble, granite, and travertine, add a luxurious and natural look to the bathroom. They are known for their durability and unique patterns

5 Best-Selling Barclay Products

Tubs are, perhaps, what this brand is best known for. Barclay’s stock of bateau, clawfoot, and cast iron designs is the largest in its collection, and you’ll have tons of options to pick from in each category. However, their freestanding and porcelain sinks are equally enchanting.

To give you an idea of what Barclay offers, just ahead, I’ll tell you all about its best-sellers.

Barclay Addison 48″ Cast Iron Roll Top Tub Review

When you think of classic tubs, the Addison 48” Cast Iron Roll Top Tub is what comes to mind. It’s perfect for small or guest bathrooms and adds a retro touch.

It can hold up to 29 gallons and has a pre-drilled overflow to avoid leaks and spills. Made from cast iron coated with white enamel, ball and claw feet add a special touch to your choice of silver, bronze, gold, or pewter finishes.

The tub has an MSRP around $2,566 depending on the finish you choose.

Barclay Raynor 66″ Cast Iron Bateau Tub Review

The Raynor 66” Cast Iron Bateau Tub is long and lovely, with an elegant look that calls for a large window overlooking the ocean. With a bateau design, it’s curved from top to bottom, sitting flush with the floor for maximum stability.

It’s certainly a bath to enjoy long soaks in, as it’s made from cast iron coated with white porcelain enamel. While it’s longer than other tubs at 66”, it’s a bit slimmer too at 28.5”. Don’t underestimate it though, as it can hold 46 gallons

You’ll need to set up a faucet over the top for this one, but it’s already been pre-drilled to prevent overflow. With an MSRP of $8,799, you can get your tub custom painted for a little extra.

Barclay Columbia 60″ Cast Iron Double Roll Top Review

The Colombia 60” Cast Iron Double Roll Top tub is the largest design in my Barclay Products review. 60” long by 30.125” wide, this tub can hold 60 gallons of water.

This particular tub has a classic, old-world design. It’s simple but still manages to make an impression in your master bathroom. Thanks to a double roll top design, there’s lots of space for bubble baths.

Made from cast iron coated with white enamel and a white epoxy exterior, you’ll delight in regal features like jeweled feet and a pre-drilled overflow. Pick from designs with 7” centers or no faucet holes for a $3,038 MSRP.

Barclay Versailles 36″ Console Review

A true centerpiece for your bathroom, the Versailles 36” Console has the look of a sink you might find in a ritzy guest house.

With shapely legs and a rectangular top, there’s plenty of room for soap dishes and toothbrush holders. I suggest placing a large gold-rimmed mirror above it to finish off that grand look.

Measuring 35.5” x 22.625” x 32.125”, the console is made with a fire clay construction for durability with an 8” pre-drilled hole for your faucet. For an MSRP of $2,820, all hardware is included when you order.

Barclay Marina Above Counter Basin Review

The Marina Above Counter Basin is another breathtaking design from Barclay Products. The thick basin has a hand-sculpted feel, pairing well with a free-flowing faucet to keep the natural look. The measurements are as follows:

  • Basin Diameter: 17.5”
  • Basin Depth: 7.5”
  • Flange Depth: 2.5” x 2”

There is no pre-drilled overflow for aesthetic reasons, so you’ll need to be wary when you choose a stopper for this basin. Get it for an MSRP of $370.

  • Bath Depot: Modern bath tubs and heating fixtures with sleek aesthetics and black matte finishes.
  • Kingston Brass: A California-based brand that makes regal looking faucets. Their products are equally classy and rustic.
  • Kohler: A longstanding producer of faucets, toilets, bathtubs, and more. They employ metallic and chrome finishes.

Barclay Products Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Barclay Products Review

You probably came to my Barclay Products review to get the full scoop on the brand which, of course, means real feedback about their products. If so, you’re in luck because I’ve dedicated an entire section to it here.

My first stop for feedback was Wayfair. Here are a few customer scores to give you an idea of how shoppers enjoy the products as of May 2023.

  • Barclay 17.875” W Single Bowl Fireclay Farmhouse Kitchen Sink: 4.8/5 stars based on more than 130 reviews
  • Barclay Bali 27.12” Tall Vitreous China Specialty Pedestal Bathroom Sink with Overflow: 4.8/5 stars based on more than 90 reviews
  • Barclay Stanford Vitreous China U-Shaped Pedestal Bathroom Sink with Overflow: 4.7/5 stars based on more than 300 reviews

Looking into the comments section for the Fango Ceramic Circular Vessel Bathroom Sink, it appears that shoppers appreciate that it’s small but not too small and looks beautiful. One Barclay Products review read: “This is a beautiful piece of art, perfect for our vessel sink. The glaze is lovely on this.”

This kind of comment was common on Wayfair, but how about elsewhere? I headed over to Home Depot to see if the ratings held true there. They did, though there were far fewer reviews to look through, so I turned to another best-selling product.

For example, the Summit 500 20 in. Pedestal Combo Bathroom Sink was rated 5/5 stars by two customers as of May 2023.

The first thing I noticed was that the prices on Home Depot were a little more expensive than they were on Wayfair, so that may be why there are so many more reviews on the first website.

After reading the comments, I saw that the kind of feedback was the same, as 100% of shoppers said they would recommend this sink to a friend.

One Barclay Products review read: “This pedestal sink is beautiful. It is slimmer (front to back) and gives our small bathroom a little more room. It is more rectangular than the usual pedestal sinks so it is a bit more distinctive.”

Demonstrating the superior design that Barclay employs, choosing one of their sinks may be more practical for your bathroom while still letting you enjoy the unique look the brand is known for.

The last Barclay Products review comes from Amazon and is for the Barclay Bali Pedestal Sink. Rated 4.4/5 stars by more than 20 shoppers. 90% of folks gave it either a 4 or 5-star score as of May 2023.

In the comments section, I saw mentions of the sink being very sturdy and attractive. One read: “Beautiful well-made pedestal sink. Wonderful design for my powder room. Petite but tall, perfect. Just bought a second one for my other powder room.”

No matter where I looked, I didn’t find much in the way of negative feedback. The most common issue seemed to be about products being too short or not working in a space, and this is in not really Barclay’s fault. The majority of folks loved what they got from this brand.

Is Barclay Products Legit?

Barclay Products Review

One of the reasons I wrote this Barclay Products review was to give you peace of mind when shopping. To do that, it’s important to suss out any red flags, which naturally means clicking over to their profile on the Better Business Bureau.

Barclay Products has a B- score on the BBB and just one complaint made in the last three years. Not a bad score considering the breadth of this company. Considering negative feedback too, there wasn’t anything that stood out as unusual. Barclay checks out.

Is Barclay Products Worth It?

Barclay Products Review

The answer to this question is a simple yes. According to customers, Barclay Products are well-made, work, and look great, and that’s all you can really ask for in a sink, tub, or faucet.

I know that any good Barclay Products review wouldn’t be complete without the details on deals, but since this brand doesn’t sell from their website, they don’t offer any online.

  2. Style: Choose a style that complements the overall design of your bathroom, whether it’s contemporary, traditional, and vintage-inspired.
