About Canadian Tire

Canadian Tire Review

The uninitiated may think that Canadian Tire doesn’t offer more than its name. While it is a classic Canadian company that specializes in tires, they are much more than that.

Canadian Tire is a massive retailer, selling nearly every product type under the sun. They’re a household name in their home country, with regular features in the media, and partnerships with the NHL and some of their teams.

Canadian Tire is an institution in the Canadian retail market. They’re most people’s go-to store for household needs and products. The company will be celebrating its 100th anniversary later this year, so it’s worth considering how they’ve remained such a powerful force for that long.

They have nearly 1,700 retail stores across Canada that include their subsidiaries like Mark’s Work Warehouse, Sportchek, and PartSource. Canadian Tire might likely be most known for their brightly colored in-house cash known as Canadian Tire money.

Though these bills are mostly worth under $1 each, their ubiquity helped etch the brand into the minds of Canadians. It established them as a brand that gives back to people and rewards them for their loyalty.

Canadian Tire also gives back to the community by donating and involving themselves with charities like Jumpstart that help children get involved with sports. They’ve also provided disaster relief to communities across Canada that struggled to recover from floods, forest fires, and other natural disasters.

My Canadian Tire review will look at what the brand does that makes them so popular in the land of beavers and maple syrup. I’ll examine their products, prices, sales, customer reception, FAQs, and more so you have a good understanding of the brand and why they have been a Canadian mainstay for 100 years.

4 Canadian Tire Bestsellers

Canadian Tire’s product catalog is as deep as Buckethead’s discography, meaning that if I wanted to cover every item then you’d be reading this article until your hair turned gray.

Seeing as how that’s the case, I decided to use this Canadian Tire review to showcase items that you’re more likely to purchase in the summer than in the winter. Seeing as how the summer is here, I figured that was the best way to show whether Canadian Tire is right for you.

Canadian Tire Master Chef Elite 4-Burner Convertible Propane Gas BBQ Grill with an Extra Side Burner

Going through an entire summer without having one cookout on a barbeque is like a holiday season without snow. Something just isn’t right. So don’t make your loved ones suffer another year of boiled hotdogs when you could purchase the Canadian Tire Master Chef Elite 4-Burner Convertible Propane Gas BBQ Grill with an Extra Side Burner.

You’d be spoiling yourself and your family by doing it. This item has 4.5 sq ft of cooking space. With that much real estate, you might think that this barbeque is more about cooking quantity instead of quality. Well, how about I tell you about its 58,000 BTUs.

That heat is distributed across its main surface and its side burners. The side burners are brass-capped to give them a different feel than the main burners. This setup gives you more versatility in terms of what you can cook at one time.

Speaking of versatility, this grill can either use propane or natural gas. It has a Convertible Valve System that allows you to convert from one to the other, so it will be a great fit for any backyard.

The Canadian Tire Master Chef Elite 4-Burner Convertible Propane Gas BBQ Grill with an Extra Side Burner is available for $412

Canadian Tire Yardworks 9-Ton Electric Log Splitter

The next item I’ll cover in this Canadian Tire review is a forceful machine that can slice through wood, logs, garages, or basements with ease.

The Canadian Tire Yardworks 9-Ton Electric Log Splitter can replace your standard manual axe and greatly reduce the amount of manual labor from your end. Its 1.75HP induction motor is nothing to scoff at and its ability to split wood with 9 tons of force may have you fanning yourself down.

That insane power output is why I say that this product is just as good indoors as it is outside the house. You should be able to move it around with you because it has a mobile base with two wheels. It weighs 167.6 lbs so moving it won’t be a breeze, but the wheels go a long way in providing you with more freedom.

You can purchase the Canadian Tire Yardworks 9-Ton Electric Log Splitter for $545. At the time of writing this Canadian Tire review, you can get it for just $428.

Canadian Tire Paderno Classic Cookware Set, Non-Stick, PFOA-Free, Oven Safe, Champagne Bronze, 12-pc

A cook without cookware is as useless as the chef from Ratatouille without Remy controlling his every action. There’s no reason for you to settle for bargain bin pans and rusted cast irons when you could buy the Canadian Tire Paderno Classic Cookware Set, Non-Stick, PFOA-Free, Oven Safe, Champagne Bronze, 12-pc.

This set includes the following pieces;

  1. A 1qt saucepan and its matching lid
  2. A 2qt saucepan and its matching lid
  3. A 3qt saucepan and its matching lid
  4. A 5qt Dutch Oven and an appropriate-sized lid
  5. A 3qt saute pan and its matching lid
  6. An 8.375″ frying pan
  7. A 2qt steamer attachment

Do you even need anything more than that? I believe that this is a solid starting collection especially given its price.

The entire Canadian Tire Paderno Classic Cookware Set, Non-Stick, PFOA-Free, Oven Safe, Champagne Bronze, 12-pc currently costs $545. This price isn’t too shabby when you consider the quality of every piece.

Each saucepan, frying pan, and dutch oven in this collection is made out of aluminum so that the heat from your burner spreads evenly across the cooking surface. Food shouldn’t stick to the pans either since each item has a PFOA-free non-stick finish.

You can pop these bad boys into an oven up to 400°F too. Their bases are meant to survive and thrive in heat that high. Your hands should be safe as well thanks to the collection’s handles being made of heat-resistant silicone.

So what are you waiting for? Put down the microwave burritos and add the Canadian Tire Paderno Classic Cookware Set, Non-Stick, PFOA-Free, Oven Safe, Champagne Bronze, 12-pc to your cart today.

Canadian Tire Mastercraft Screwdriver Set 80-pc

What can you do with 80 screwdrivers? Buddy, what can’t you do with 80 screwdrivers! You’d be equipped with tools of nearly every size, head type, and bit so that you shouldn’t have to call the repairman again.

The Canadian Tire Mastercraft Screwdriver Set 80-pc has more than just screwdrivers. It also comes with two different nut drivers, a ratchet handle, a demo driver, a tack remover, and a nylon bag to hold all these essential accessories.

Let’s get back to the screwdrivers. They’re made with satin-chrome shafts to withstand the pressure that comes from twisting tight screws. Their CRV blades should remain sharp and taut so that they last longer than your child’s college fund.

Your hands shouldn’t get chewed up no matter how hard you turn the screwdriver because they have a soft grip. Their handles have a texture that should keep them in your hands so that you can keep a firm grasp on them.

The entire Canadian Tire Mastercraft Screwdriver Set 80-pc usually retails at $101, but Canadian Tire is currently offering it at the heavily discounted price of $19.

Who Is Canadian Tire For?

Canadian Tire Review

Canadian Tire is an ideal store for people who want regular savings, a quick shopping experience, and a product selection that would make other stores shudder. It’s hard to leave a Canadian Tire location with just one item!

Canadian Tire Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Canadian Tire Review

Now that you have an idea of what kind of products Canadian Tire sells, let’s take a look at what customers think about them. So I made a list of customer ratings for the items I featured in this Canadian Tire review. Here are those scores:

  • Master Chef Elite BBQ: 3.7/5 stars from 78 reviews
  • Paderno Classic Cookware Set: 4.4/5 stars over 72 reviews
  • Mastercraft Screwdriver Set: 4.6/5 stars from 216 reviews
  • Yardworks 9-Ton Log Splitter: 4.1/5 stars after 81 reviews

I can see that their products are highly regarded by shoppers, but what about the brand itself? I read more Canadian Tire reviews to see what people said about the shopping experience as a whole.

Websites like SiteJabber, had a few telling insights into what makes Canadian Tire worth visiting. Customers adored the wide product selection. They felt that the supplier had nearly everything they needed whether they were renovating their backyard, sprucing up their garden, or fixing some things around the house.

People also loved how informative and helpful the brand’s employees are. Shoppers were able to find out more about the products and Canadian Tire workers were happy to explore potential options with them. This is how one reviewer described their time at Canadian Tire:

“I called twice today, knowledgeable understanding and able to solve my issues. I am a Canadian Tire fan and this makes me an online fan as well.”

Another Canadian Tire shopper called the brand’s customer service exemplary: “You can check online then better to go store you find out more than you aspects…I found [the] best deal today.”

There were promising Canadian Tire reviews on TrustPilot too. The positive testimonials there said that the staff was knowledgable, the products were reliable, and that it was a great hub for nearly everything they wanted

Here’s how one happy customer described their time in the store: “It’s a good store with great atmosphere and good vibes. They often have things on sale with better prices than other stores.”

The negative Canadian Tire reviews I found were mainly concerning their auto-repair service, which isn’t the focus of this article. I’m not saying that you should ignore those, but that aspect of their brand isn’t the same as their retail component. So it may not be as important to you if you’re looking to buy one of the items I featured in this review.

Is Canadian Tire Legit?

Canadian Tire Review

As a strong Canadian institution for 100 years with a ton of positive reviews and a variety of high-quality products at great prices, it’s safe to say that Canadian Tire is legit.

Is Canadian Tire Worth It?

Canadian Tire Review

I firmly believe that Canadian Tire is worth it because of the sheer volume of their product roster and fair prices. It’s hard to find a store this ubiquitous with this deep of a product selection and prices this agreeable. But Canadian Tire seems to be the outlier.

Canadian Tire Promotions & Discounts

Canadian Tire Review

Spring is in the air and along with it comes lighter clothes, longer days, and barbequed steaks. The best way to arm yourself for the upcoming summer is by shopping at Canadian Tire during their Summer Super Sale. You’ll be able to save up to 40% on certain products.

If you miss those sales because you’ve been too busy spending time already enjoying your summer then you’ll want to save this next part of my Canadian Tire review. The retailer constantly updates its for-sale collection on its website.

You can find products separated by either category or price point. This same separation is applied to the brand’s clearance items. Of course, these items are only available while supplies last so their discounts aren’t as evergreen.

What is evergreen is Canadian Tire’s iconic weekly flyer that features sales and bundles on objects. You don’t need to shop in person to earn these discounts back either as they’re available on the Canadian Tire website too.

Where to Buy Canadian Tire

Canadian Tire Review

You can support Canadian Tire by purchasing directly from their website, www.canadiantire.ca, or by visiting one of their retail locations. You can find the closest Canadian Tire to you by using the store locator function.

FAQ

Canadian Tire Review

Who owns Canadian Tire?

The Canadian Tire Corporation is currently traded on the Canadian Stock Exchange and its largest shareholder is Owen Billes, a descendent of the founding Biles brothers.

Does Canadian Tire ship internationally?

Canadian Tire can only ship items to locations within 100km of a retail location, so I’d assume that they cannot ship outside of their native country.

What is Canadian Tire’s Shipping Policy?

Factors like item size, weight, and location will affect how long it takes a product to arrive and how much shipping will cost.

The company states that shipping starts at $5 and goes up from there. They add that most items should be out for delivery within 1-2 business days.

What is Canadian Tire’s Return Policy?

You’ll have up to 90 days to return any unused and unopened Canadian Tire purchases to any location. You don’t have to bring the product back to the store that you purchased it from. All you need is proof of purchase and a Canadian Tire employee should be happy to help you.
