Overview of Chloé

Chloé Review

In 1952, Chloé’s founder Gabby Aghion hired a seamstress and released a limited collection of haute couture. The line was devoured by those hungry for ready-to-wear looks with impeccable detailing and a glove-like fit.

Headquartered in Paris, France, Aghion, who passed away in 2014 at 93 years old, was quoted to say: “All I’ve ever wanted was for Chloé to have a happy spirit, to make people happy.

There’s an undeniable feminine energy that the fashion house possesses, one that’s an immediate attraction to those new to the brand. It’s almost like a coming home of sorts, one that welcomes women with outstretched arms.

With a history of work promoting inclusivity and combating gender inequalities, Chloé applies its mission to every aspect of its business, all the way down to who it sources materials from.

Today, Chloé is just as committed to helping the planet as it is to helping women. The brand works to reduce water waste and carbon emissions, and it uses fabric scraps instead of throwing them away.

Chloé Review

Chloé is high fashion, its site featuring only its most recent collection. As we write this, that means Autumn/Winter. Decked out with cold-weather staples, its models showcase a neutral color theme that invites us in for more.

Upon browsing its bags, shoes, and ready-to-wear clothing, we came to know the brand’s approachable style. It’s a style that would grip any budding fashionista by the arm and quickly add them to its army of faithful followers.

Rows of rich brown leather, chunky heels, and billowing blouses permeate throughout, all outfitted with a muted, intimate color palette of soft pinks, cream, and a few punches of retro jazz.

With so much to offer, we couldn’t possibly unpack it all in this Chloé review. Ahead, you’ll find a compacted selection of the best-selling bags, shoes, and sunglasses to whet your appetite.

Chloé Bags Review

What’s in a bag? Durable materials, ample space, a little personality? Chloé bags pour on a youthful sophistication by way of a blend of wicker, canvas, felt, and recycled cashmere. Retro prints and colors adorn the line, saturated with the soft neutrals the brand is known for.

Just ahead, this Chloé review will feature its top-selling bags, both large and perfect for toting around on busy weekends where bag space is a must.

Chloé Medium Woody Tote Bag Review

With the classic look of a tote, the Chloé Medium Woody Tote Bag mingles deadstock wool cashmere with supple calfskin and woody ribbon.

Blending the old with the new, deadstock refers to what’s leftover after other items have been cut and made. The tote is an easy-going busy day necessity, with one large main compartment to pile in your shopping or fresh farmer’s market picks.

It’s got two long handles that help it glide up over your shoulder for heavy cargo and one internal flat pocket for a convenient stash. In a dark abyss blue shade, this transfixing tote gives room for about 14” of width and 10” of height. Grab it up for $1,190.

Chloé Large Edith Day Bag Review

A conversation piece in the least, the Chloé Large Edith Day Bag blends the bold look of buffalo leather with the softness of recycled cashmere. The result? An attention-grabbing look that converges eccentric texture and color with the classic look of leather.

Complete with the loose ends of cashmere, Edith is full of retro character and slides easily over your arm with the option to attach a longer shoulder strap. With a top zipper concealing a roomy interior, within lies two pockets for easy stashing.

The Large Edith Day Bag makes room for daily necessities and then some, measuring about 17” in width and 13” in height. Take it on all your daily adventures for $2,690.

Chloé Handbags Review

Chloé handbags are praised for their fine construction and effortless style. This season’s collection is filled with a heavy dose of mixed materials, smooth curves, and shiny metals that accents bags of all sizes.

Coming up next, you’ll meet the brand’s best-selling handbag, which has been a popular pick since its launch in 2009.

Chloé Marcie Handbag Review

Marcie is the bag most people think of when they hear the name, Chloé. It has a smooth, curvy shape that may take inspiration from the incredible female form.

Moody but exquisite, this season’s Chloé Marcie Handbag is made in a grained calfskin with a handmade embroidered, retro-style strap. Versatility is a given with this bag, converting from a handbag to a crossbody is just a matter of picking the alternate strap.

Outfitted with a front slip pocket shrouded by a detailed flap, Marcie boasts an additional two internal pockets to keep your necessities organized. As an ideal everyday purse, this bag gives about 14” of width and 11” of height. Add this timeless bag to your collection for $2,250.

Chloé Sandals Review

It may be fall heading into winter, but the need for a quality pair of sandals lives on. After all, what is a frigid winter if not the perfect time for snuggling indoors?

The Chloé sandals collection includes a concise selection of open-toed shoes, lots of crisscrossing fabrics, and a mix of flats and platform styles. Up next, you’ll read about its top-selling pick, the Woody Flat Mule.

Chloé Woody Flat Mule Review

Though the Chloé Woody Flat Mule denotes a potentially wooden look, this shoe is entirely made of lambskin and calfskin with a shearling lining and is everything but stiff.

Cozy enough for indoor winter wear, these open-toed shoes have a classically-squarish mule shape with crisscrossing straps adorned with the Chloé logo. Pick from a combination of tan and white or cream with black, throw on a cashmere tracksuit, and kick up your feet. Grab a pair for $550.

Chloé Boots Review

The Chloé boots collection includes all of the season’s must-haves—ankle and knee height, boots for rainy days, and office wear. You’ll find a mixture of high-caliber materials like calfskin, shearling, and thick PVC that all have a thick, cozy look in natural hues like camel, black, and tan.

Ahead, we’ll showcase the brand’s top-selling boots, both on the more casual side, both ideal for chilly fall and winter weather.

Chloé Jamie Chelsea Bootie Review

With its Jamie Chelsea Bootie, Chloé puts a contemporary and warm spin on the classic style, elevating it from a cold-weather necessity to an undeniable must-have for the winter season.

Structured and hearty, the boot mixes supple, slightly shiny calfskin with a knitted sock, piling on the cozy feels for a typically hard-looking shoe. It’s got a heel height of 4.1”, made from rubber to both protect the leather from damage and give you a sturdy grip on slippery winter sidewalks.

Available in black, camel, and dark brown, the Chloé Jamie Chelsea Bootie mixes business with pleasure and is $1,200.

Chloé Betty Rain Boot Review

Whether it’s rain or slush or snow, wet and mucky conditions are no place for supple leather boots. The Betty Rain Boot is your chic wet weather staple, made from thick PVC with a sturdy 2” rubber heel and a side zipper that takes inspiration from your favorite toothed platform leather pull-on.

Betty is made in six dark and neutral colors, ideal for slipping on over simple leggings or blue skinny jeans. Full of personality that’s both practical and sassy, you can pick up a pair for $525.

Chloé Sunglasses Review

The Autumn/Winter Chloé sunglasses collection is full of familiar shapes with a few surprising twists thrown in. Geometric-shaped lenses, jewel tints, and temples formed into unique lines.

Up next, this Chloé review will introduce you to its best-selling sunglasses, a classic aviator shape with a special touch that kicks the already edgy design up a notch.

Chloé Edith Sunglasses Review

Mixing materials is a sure-fire way to create an eye-catching look. The Edith Sunglasses blend the sharp look of gold metal with smooth brown leather to create a one-of-kind take on the iconic aviator shape.

Offering 100% UVA & UVB protection, Edith’s temples end in a secure hook around the back of your ear which not only serves a purpose but adds a distinctive touch.

Available soon, you can get the Chloé Edith Sunglasses for $520.

Who Is Chloé For?

Chloé Review

When looking at Chloé’s collections, we definitely get a 70s, hippie fashion feel. Lots of breezy fabrics, retro styles, long skirts, and rosy round sunnies. And yet, there’s an energy throughout its collection that reminds us of carefree youth along with a few metallic touches and modern details.

To us, that translates to mean that women of all ages are granted access to the brand, whether it’s by love for something familiar of the past or appreciation for vintage style.

Chloé Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Chloé Review

When buying anything designer, you’d think that quality is a given. But if you’re going to spend a week’s wage on a bag or platform sandals, it’s critical that you hear from those who have bought it—especially if you’re shopping online.

This section of our Chloé review exists for that very reason, and ahead, you’ll find out exactly what we did after a thorough search for helpful feedback. Our first stop was on a fashion blog called Alley Girl.

The blog’s Chloé review was in regards to the Woody Sandal, this season’s casual slip-on. With a 4.4/5 score overall, the shoes received ratings in the following categories:

  • Comfort: 3.5/5 stars
  • Design: 5/5 stars
  • Quality: 5/5 stars
  • Price: 4/5 stars

Of the construction of the shoe, the review read, “you can definitely see the quality is here. Sometimes you buy a luxurious brand but then are disappointed. You won’t have that experience here.”

Though a simple shoe, it doesn’t mean quality should ever be lacking. The Chloé Woody Sandal appears to be just as impeccably made as all of the brand’s other items.

To back this up, we found a Chloé review on Bay Area Fashionista that talked about the infamous Marcie Bag. Everyone and their little dog love this bag, so we wanted to find out exactly why that is.

The review said that “the leather was thick and strong and the craftsmanship was flawless. I found I was able to carry heavy items inside the bag and the stitching remained secure and strong.”

We buy designer goods for a few reasons. Two of them are looks and quality, and the price wouldn’t be justified without either. It sounds and appears like Chloé checks off both of those boxes and we can understand why the Marcie Bag is as popular as it is.

To look in on the brand’s clothing, we headed to Amazon where the Chloé Modest Chiffon Dress held a score of 4.2/5 stars from 120 shoppers. That score broke down like this:

  • 5 stars: 62%
  • 4 stars: 14%
  • 3 stars: 9%
  • 2 stars: 7%
  • 1 star: 8%

Overall, shoppers love the fit and flair of the chiffon dress, many writing of how “flattering and comfortable” it is to wear and more around in. Of its quality, another Chloé review read, “It was well made with nice lining on the inside.”

Details like a comfortable quality lining are what set designer dresses apart from fast fashion brands. It’s all in the details and Chloé looks to be excelling in those.

In the end, what we found in this section of our Chloé review only strengthened how we already feel about the brand. Quality fabrics, fantastic detailing, and durable designs, the brand’s line is iconic and is an important part of French fashion history.

Is Chloé Worth It?

Chloé Review

At first glance, Chloé appears to be a modern brand. It has a fresh and young feeling about it, but it’s been around for almost 70 years. That’s the beauty of this line, it was created to be fun, energetic fashion and it’s stayed current, approachable, and relatable throughout the years.

That’s just one thing we love about Chloé, its style. But we also adore the fact that it’s working on becoming more sustainable and gives back. And even though its items are of such high quality, the line, in general, isn’t overly expensive and unattainable for the average consumer.

Chloé is one of the luxury designers we think is the most accessible among the lot and one that translates well to young and older generations. It’s youthful but timeless.
