Jurlique Review

Jurlique produces high-quality, natural skincare products sourced from an organic farm in South Australia.

The brand has gained acclaim for its sustainability and organic practices, gaining it the CEW Eco Beauty Award in 2016 and a few Best of Beauty Awards in 2018.

With products featured in Vogue, Good Housekeeping, and displayed in 5,000 stores worldwide, Jurlique is truly an international brand with a stellar reputation.

This Jurlique review will provide an in-depth and balanced view of some of the skincare company’s best-selling products.

We’ll also get into customer reviews, discounts, shipping details, and more, to help you decide if their products are worth the buy.

Overview of Jurlique

Jurlique Review

Jurlique was founded in 1985 by Dr. Jurgen and Ulrike Klein with a mission was to cultivate pure skincare products from a holistic, nature-centric perspective that gives people healthy and beautiful skin.

To accomplish this lofty goal, they grew what they call “healing herbs” on their sprawling and idyllic 154-acre farm in South Australia. You can even book a behind-the-scenes Jurlique Farm Tour to see what makes their products tick.

Above all, Jurlique offers a vast line of luxurious products that are not just organic, but certified biodynamic, meaning their farming practices nurture and give back to the local environment.

Among its many face, hand, and body products, the brand has also released a new line of Hydrating Mists in flavors of Rosewater, Lavender, Sweet Violet, and more, just in time for summer.

When it comes to all Jurlique products, the brand handpicks all of their botanical ingredients, and the farm where they are manufactured is free from synthetic pesticides and fertilizers.

Among other items, this Jurlique review will cover how these unique farming practices led to world-class skincare products. First, let’s look at some of the pros and cons.

Jurlique Skin Care Review

Now that you are familiar with the basics, it’s time to dive into Jurlique’s best-selling products.

This Jurlique review will address the company’s claim of marrying “nature’s transformative powers with state-of-the-art skin technology,” as well as a comprehensive look at the ingredients in each product, and pricing details.

Jurlique Purely White Skin Brightening Essence Review

The Purely White Skin Brightening Essence serum focuses on the power of Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Kakadu Plum, and African Birch to lighten and even the skin tone and reduce discoloration.

Jurlique recommends using a small amount daily, morning and night, before your moisturizer, and by applying it on the fingertips and then massaging gently into the face, neck, and décolletage.

Each of these main ingredients is grown through biodynamic techniques and harvested by hand on the Jurlique farm, which is probably why a 30ml bottle costs $65.

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist Review

Jurlique’s iconic beauty item: The Rosewater Balancing Mist. This toning elixir was featured in Vogue as one of Ella Mai’s favorite beauty products.

It features the unique Jurlique Rose Flower Extract, along with Marshmallow Root Extract, and Aloe Vera Leaf Extract. Together they naturally improve the skin barrier and protect its inner glow.

“The scent is lovely and doesn’t irritate my skin,” one customer wrote about the bestseller on the Jurlique website, a review echoed by many other happy customers.

Rosewater Balancing Mist comes in a 100ml bottle for $42.

Jurlique Moisture Plus Rare Rose Cream Review

The Moisture Plus Rare Rose Cream gives you silky smooth limbs perfumed with the brand’s signature Rose Scent. The cream restores dewy, radiant, and elastic skin that is also protected against environmental polluters.

Cupuacu Butter deeply nourishes and adds a healthy, moisturized glow. Then, the Senna Seed Polysaccharide Extract adds a protective layer on the skin that locks in and intensifies the moisture.

The Moisture Plus Rare Rose Cream is available in a 50ml bottle for $60. Save this one for the romantic wintry nights, when you want to elevate your usual self-care regime.

Jurlique Softening Body Lotion Rose Review

This Softening Body Lotion Rose is also concocted with some of the 2,000+ Jurlique roses planted at their farm in Adelaide Hills.

Guided by mysterious rose breeder “George”, these delicate flowers are harvested and turned into extracts that treat skin with anti-aging antioxidants and high levels of Vitamins C through K.

Jurlique promises that this lotion, enriched with Macadamia Seed and Avocado Oils, will be quickly absorbed and leave your skin “feeling velvety soft and radiant.”

The lockable pump is designed to make it a quality option for keeping your hands and face looking vibrant during travel.

Customers can purchase this pure botanical Softening Body Lotion Rose in a 300ml bottle for $39.

Jurlique The Iconic Set Review

The Iconic Set is a 3-product package deal from Jurlique that customers love. It includes:

  • 30ml of Rosewater Balancing Mist
  • 150ml of Activating Water Essence
  • 30ml of Jurlique Rose Hand Cream

Each one is designed to hydrate and revitalize skin. But be advised that these Iconic Skin Perfectors use the Jurlique Rose Scent and soothe all types of skin, from normal and combination to oily, without leaving a residue.

The three products in this package focus on different aspects of skin vitality. The best-selling Rosewater Balancing Mist leaves a sweet aroma on your face and neck, while the Jurlique Activating Water Essence continuously quenches parched skin.

As you may have guessed, the Jurlique Hand Cream protects the hardest working parts of your body (that also get a ton of sun exposure) through long-lasting moisturization, restoring cracked, painful skin to a softer state.

The Iconic Set is a great deal that offers three products at $80. If you’re on a tight budget, remember that Afterpay is also an option.

Jurlique Nutri-Define Gift With Purchase Review

Currently out of stock in the US, the Nutri-Define Gift with Purchase is six splendid Jurlique samples packaged in a handy little pouch. The company doesn’t offer much information on this online exclusive product through its website.

However, it is available on Jurlique’s Australian website and contains:

  • 5ml Nutri-Define Supreme Eye Contour Balm
  • 10ml Nutri-Define Supreme Restorative Rich Cream
  • 20g Radiant Skin Foaming Cleanser
  • 15ml Rosewater Balancing Mist
  • 10ml Activating Water Essence
  • A cosmetic pouch

This Jurlique review cannot guarantee that the samples listed above will be the same ones provided in the US store, when the Nutri-Define Gift with Purchase comes back in stock.

But all of Jurlique’s products are high-quality, and you really can’t go wrong with a gift bag this posh. In Australia, the Nutri-Define Gift with Purchase is automatically sent with orders of $85+.

Although details for the US store version are unknown as of now, this Jurlique review is happy to share a typical 5-star customer review: “Fabulous to travel with and a great way to trial new products”. It’s easy to see why this hot item is out of stock.

Jurlique Lavender Shampoo Review

In a break from rose-centric products, Jurlique has created a Lavender Shampoo.

Currently out of stock in the US, it uses a natural-based and soap-free formula to rebalance oiliness, calm and moisturize the scalp, and liven up dull hair.

Jurlique is special for its organic extracts grown and harvested in the land down-under. Their Lavender Shampoo is no different.

Harnessing the power of Rosemary and Lavender Extracts, in addition to Macadamia and Jojoba Oils, this shampoo leaves your hair tangle-free, healthy, and luxuriously smooth. A 300ml bottle of the Lavender Shampoo is sold for $22

Jurlique Sandalwood Shampoo Review

Jurlique’s Sandalwood Shampoo is designed to accelerate the recovery of damaged hair. Soap-free and featuring plant-based oils, as well as Honey and Glycerin, and leaves hair smelling delightfully woodsy and clean.

Jurlique’s Sandalwood Shampoo is the company’s gentlest shampoo option. Its mild botanical cleansing agents are carefully designed to replenish your hair’s natural nutrients without weighing it down.

Additionally, wheat-derived Amino Acids are used to combat frizzy and coarse hair textures. The Sandalwood Shampoo is available in a 300ml size for $22.

Jurlique Jojoba Carrier Oil Review

Here we have Jurlique’s essential lightweight oil for relaxation on your at-home spa day. The Jojoba Carrier Oil is fragrance-free and optimal for massages in particular.

It dilutes potent oils and “carries” them into your pores, without compromising therapeutic properties.

Made for all skin types, the Jojoba Carrier Oil is 100% natural and best complemented with one of Jurlique’s aromatherapy essential oils or oil blends.

This 100ml Jojoba Carrier Oil encapsulates the brand’s overall goal of delivering “an undiluted force of nature to your skin” for $46

Jurlique Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Jurlique Review

At this point, it should not surprise you to hear that customers adore Jurlique.

Not only is their authentic mission to build a sustainable, high-performance business unironically admirable, their natural products are healthy and scientifically proven to hydrate, rejuvenate, and soften both skin and hair.

But, this Jurlique review would not be complete without sharing the good and bad words of customers.

Firstly, on the brand’s official website, the Moisture Plus Rare Rose Day Cream was one of the most popular products, earning an average of 4.9/5 stars out of 450 customer reviews.

A 5-star reviewer commented on the Jurlique Rosecream:

“Each time that I apply this product, it is like a complete sensory experience. The smoothness of the cream as it glides over my skin and the perfume that transports me to a beautiful summer garden”.

A 5-star Jojoba Carrier Oil review read, “I used to suffer from all kinds of skin problems like dry flaky skin, itchy skin, dermatitis & eczema. Since using Jurlique body oil & body cream, all problems were gone!”

Out of 1,720 reviews left on MakeupAlley, the brand received an average of 3.8/5 stars. A 4-star testimonial for the Rose Body Oil wrote, “I love this product, love the fragrance and smooth feel it gives”.

“I quite liked it. Smelled nice, gentle on my skin. Not sure about whether it would be effective with solving any skin concerns as I didn’t have any really at the time. A bit expensive for my liking though”, wrote a Jurlique Reddit review.

Now that you have heard the good, let’s go into the few bad reviews that we have found about the brand. Many of the reviews reported issues with the texture of the products and how they do not absorb well.

First off, one review from Influenster did not love the consistency of the Jurlique Herbal Recovery Eye Cream:

“This cream did not sink into the skin. It just sat on top of the skin feeling very heavy for ages. When it eventually absorbed it left the skin feeling very dry. Would not recommend.”

A review from MakeUp Alley shared this opinion, stating that, “[t]his is sticky, does not dry down. It leaves a slight film so anything over this tends to drag and layer off.”

Is Jurlique Worth It?

Jurlique Review

There is only one conclusion from this Jurlique review: it’s absolutely worth it.

While it leans on the expensive side, any customer would have to make it a life-long mission to find a company as dedicated to both the environment and healthy, beautiful skin as Jurlique.

Is Jurlique a good brand? Their mission to produce healthy and high-quality skincare products through biodynamic farming practices has paid off with clear results.

Plus, the brand has many promotions and discounts that make their products all the more attainable to their customers, and they even offer Afterpay payment plans if the price tag is too steep for you.

If the price doesn’t bother you and you have more concerns about the texture or consistency, this is an issue that Jurlique still has to work on.

But, with the hundreds of positive customer reviews that say the products work and are even repeat buyers, we still think this brand is worth buying.

If you do buy a Jurlique product that you aren’t satisfied with, as a last resort, you can still rely on the 45-day money-back guarantee that the brand has in place.

Whether you’re buying a Jurlique cream, oil, balm, shampoo, or mist, you can be sure the price tag and the benefits are worth it

FAQ

Jurlique Review

Is Jurlique Australian owned?

Jurlique is no longer Australian-owned. It was acquired by the Japanese POLA ORBIS Group in February 2012.

Is Jurlique certified organic?

Jurlique is certified biodynamic by the Australian National Association for Sustainable Agriculture. Biodynamic is very similar to organic but goes a step beyond, in that it replenishes the soil and environment rather than depleting it.

Is Jurlique vegan?

Jurlique is not vegan because their products (as it is with many brands) are tested on animals by third parties, in order to be sold in mainland China. However, China recently announced that it will be removing mandatory animal testing for imported general cosmetics.

Is Jurlique good for sensitive skin?

Jurlique sells many biodynamic products specializing in soothing and restoring sensitive skin. They even have two articles on their website dedicated to treating sensitive skin.

What is Jurlique’s Shipping Policy?

Jurlique is available in most countries around the world.

In the US, shipping times vary according to FedEx’s standard operating procedures. Orders that are placed before 11 AM PST on weekdays (excluding public holidays) are shipped the same day

Jurlique does not ship to US PO boxes but can ship to APO and FPO boxes through FedEx Ground, which takes longer than the standard shipping time.

For such orders, Jurlique requests that customers contact their customer support for an estimated time of arrival.

Jurlique also points out that international shipping may require “special handling,” which could cause delays.

But, generally speaking, customers should access this handy shipping estimation guide that the company provides on their website.

With the gritty details out of the way, it’s time for this Jurlique review to share the good news: US customers get free FedEx Ground shipping on orders of $60+.

This discount is automatically applied to eligible orders and available on orders placed outside the US store, although the discount amount varies.

Once placed, an order cannot be canceled or changed. Thankfully, Jurlique operates with an extremely fair refund policy.

What is Jurlique’s Return Policy?

Jurlique’s generous return policy allows any customer unsatisfied with a product (purchased through their site) to return it within 45 days, opened or unopened, for a refund.

To keep things square, Jurlique has a provision that if more than 30% of the item was used, it cannot be returned.

A return authorization number is required on all returns, and “return acceptance is at the sole discretion of Jurlique,” which is the company’s way of saying, “no funny stuff!”

Thought it was too good to be true? Well, this Jurlique review found the catch: returned items must include all parts, pieces and printed materials in order to be eligible for a refund.

This includes all printed materials. If you didn’t think that four-inch pamphlet was important, tough luck. You also have to pay for return shipping.

Follow these easy steps to return your Jurlique order:

  1. Contact Jurlique for a return authorization number and tell them what you wish to return
  2. Wait to receive your return authorization number and return instructions by email
  3. Pack the item (and everything it came with) and include the return authorization number on the outside of the package, as well as on the original order invoice
  4. Your refund will be processed once the item is accepted by the warehouse

How to Contact Jurlique

Contacting Jurlique is as easy as calling 1-626-247-4566. Their phone line is open Monday to Friday, 9 AM–4 PM PST
