About Farmacy Beauty

Farmacy Beauty Review

I know the advantages of eating local, loading up my plate with natural foods, and choosing organic, but I certainly never thought to apply the same rules to skincare. Farmacy Beauty takes beauty back to the farm.

Its “farm-to-face” tagline nods at a sustainable, cruelty free, and clean approach. Sourcing ingredients from small organic farms based in New York, Pennsylvania, and Northern Brazil, Farmacy Beauty creates non-toxic skin care formulas for anyone who wants to keep things natural.

The skincare market is huge. In 2020, it generated about 130 billion dollars in revenue worldwide. An impressive number, but this also means that millions of people are putting a wide range of ingredients on their skin daily—including some that may not be so safe.

Many of these ingredients have the capacity to be a serious threat to public health[1], and more and more people are becoming aware of this. This is where natural skincare brands, like Farmacy Beauty, have a leg-up on the competition.

Farmacy Beauty is an award-winning brand, nabbing coveted spots on Allure’s Best of Beauty list. With squeaky clean products that actually work, it’s no wonder why the brand has a community of over 600k on social. Scanning the web for more, I saw its name in headlines on Forbes, Glossy, and in New York Magazine.

Does “farm-picked, hand-grown botanical” skincare sound like a dream? In this Farmacy Beauty review, I’ll find out whether it lives up to the hype. Come with me as I examine the brand and its best-sellers, check out customer feedback, and more. Let’s dig in.

Overview of Farmacy Beauty

Farmacy Beauty Review

The story of Farmacy Beauty doesn’t go like I thought it would. I imagined it sprouting from a hippie who had been mixing up botanical concoctions in her rustic farm house.

Much to my surprise, the brand was actually founded by a PR guru named Mark Veeder. He didn’t exactly have a professional background in skincare, but he did love it as much as he did gardening. After coming across a new genus of Echinacea that just happened to be packed with antioxidants[2], Veeder started thinking.

He ended up teaming up with farming expert Robert Dreyfuss and launching the brand in 2014. Though it’s based in urban New York, the duo sources its plants from small organic farms just outside of the city, as well as Pennsylvania and Northern Brazil.

To put Farmacy Beauty’s values in their own words: “We believe it’s our duty to make sustainable choices. We believe in cruelty-free products. With every step, we are rooting for our people and our planet.

The brand stands by its Clean Commandments, creating eco-friendly products free of parabens, formaldehyde, mineral oils, synthetic fragrances, phthalates, and animal testing. But I read that it doesn’t stop there. Farmacy Beauty also gives back to good causes like Feeding America and Color of Change.

Farmacy Beauty Review

I think that Veeder’s company certainly has admirable values, but in this Farmacy Beauty review, I’ll take a more in depth look to see if their products can really go the distance. Let’s check out its highlights first.

  • Eco-friendly products free of cruelty, parabens, phthalates, and other harmful substances
  • Lightweight, non-greasy formulas
  • Compatible with all skin types
  • Competitive pricing (more expensive compared to drugstore products, but average for premium skincare)
  • Supports small organic farmers
  • Gives back to the community
  • Free shipping options
  • Money-back guarantee

I found it hard not to smile when landing on the brand’s website. Full of fresh colors and a happy little buzzing bee, I had a great time roaming through the vibrant line. There’s a lot to discover from this brand, but for the sake of time, this Farmacy Beauty review will give you an overview of the brand’s best-sellers.

From cleansers and exfoliators to creams and balms, if you’re looking for a company you can feel good about (inside and out), I highly suggest reading this Farmacy skincare review to find out more.

Farmacy Honeymoon Glow Night Serum

To me, glowing skin is smooth, hydrated, and even. It’s skin that’s so happy, it radiates. Farmacy Honeymoon Glow Night Serum is a 3-in-1 hydrating honey night serum that, when applied 2-3 times weekly, give you a youthful, refreshed glow. Great for all skin types, it uses AHAs and BHAs to get the job done.

If you’re new to the acronyms, AHAs (Alpha-Hydroxy Acids) resurface skin by promoting cell renewal as well as reduce hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles. One study[3] of a skincare system including AHAs found that after 21 days of use, wrinkle depth improved by 32.5%, and skin roughness improved by 42.9%. Those are pretty significant scores.

Meanwhile, BHAs (Beta Hydroxy Acids) have been shown to help fight acne, reduce oiliness, and reduce the size of pores[4], among other benefits. An example of a BHA includes the well-known acne-fighting ingredient, salicylic acid[5]

What I love about this product most is its proven results. In a 6 week consumer panel test of women aged 25-60, over 90% reported hydrated, soft, and supple skin, and experiencing skin that felt renewed and resurfaced. Sounds like my dream come true.

The Honeymoon Glow Night Serum costs $58 for a 30 ml/1 fl. oz bottle. I should note here though, that using it increases your skin’s sensitivity to the sun, so be sure to layer on SPF before you head out.

Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm

I’m usually the cleanser type, but recently, I’ve switched on to balms. The difference? They make my skin super soft.

Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm is an award winning, best selling makeup remover and face cleanser. Powerful yet gentle ingredients like sunflower and ginger root oils remove even the heaviest of makeup easily without stripping or drying out skin.

Sunflower seed oil has been shown to be gentle[6] enough to use on the skin of newborn babies, so you know that this ingredient will be soothing. Additionally, studies[7] have shown that ginger oil can reduce inflammation, therefore it can help to reduce redness in your skin.

I have to admit in this Farmacy Beauty review, that the smell of a product gets me hooked. So color me delighted when I found out that this Farmacy cleansing balm smells like “a vacation”. Combining scents like zesty lemon, bright orange and sunny bergamot, these Farmacy daily exfoliating greens will leave your skin hydrated, smooth and exhilarated

The Green Clean Cleansing Balm is available in 100 ml/3.4 fl. oz for $34 and 50 ml/1.7 fl. oz for $22.

Farmacy Daily Greens Gel Moisturizer

Farmacy Daily Greens Gel Moisturizer Review

I eat kale because it’s good for me. Not because I particularly love its nutrient-rich flavor. I was pleased to find that I could reap the skin benefits of eating greens like kale and cucumber by using the Daily Greens Gel Moisturizer.

Feeding skin with a daily dose of greens, plant eaters can rejoice in the fact that this moisturizer is completely vegan, and like all Farmacy products, is cruelty free. It’s also free of oil and silicone, which means it has a lightweight, airy feel to it.

What’s more, this Farmacy hydrating gel contains a blend of phytonutrients from feel-good plants like moringa and papaya extract. Moringa has been shown to revitalize[8] the skin and produce anti-aging effects, while papaya extract has been shown to speed up wound healing[9]. This gel also contains hyaluronic acid. Studies[10] have demonstrated that this ingredient successfully improves skin hydration and elasticity.

Though it’s compatible with all skin types, this product is particularly useful for combination and oily skin. The Daily Greens Gel Moisturizer comes in a 50 ml/1.7 fl. oz container for $38.

Farmacy Cheer Up Eye Cream

I’ve been on the search for a good eye cream for about a year. Using formulas with harsh ingredients, some left the skin around my eyes in worse condition than it started. I’m pretty jazzed up about the roster of natural power players in the Farmacy Cheer Up Eye Cream though.

Another one of the brand’s delicious-smelling products, it boasts a luxurious feel and perks up tired eyes. This Farmacy eye cream is great at preventing annoying (but good-hearted) coworkers from asking, “you look tired, what’s wrong?” Susan, you’re great but like, come on.

So how does it work? A blend of Vitamin C, natural peptides, and caffeine visibly firms and reduces the appearance of fine lines around your eyes. One study[11] showed that vitamin C, which is known to increase collagen levels, improves dark under-eye circles.

Farmacy Beauty Review

With a heavenly smell, the cream has acerola cherry to thank. Yum. For extra radiance, use the Cheer Up Eye Cream both morning and at night. This eye rejuvenator costs $45, available in 15 ml/0.5 fl. oz.

Farmacy Honey Savior Repair Salve

Oh how I love a good all-in-one product! Dry Hands? Cracked Lips? Flyaway hair? Tough elbows? Sunburnt cheeks? The Farmacy Honey Savior Repair Salve tackles them all and comes in the perfect sized tube to throw in your purse or keep in your coat pocket.

Honey is truly a miracle product and I’d just like to take a second here to thank the bees for their hard work. With so many amazing features like antimicrobial[12], antioxidant[13], and anti-inflammatory[14] properties, honey does wonders for your skin. This Honey Savior Repair Salve combines 132 nutrients (wow), revitalizes skin, and nourishes just about everything it touches.

It’s available in two compact sizes, 46 g/1.6 oz for $34 or 15 g/.53 oz for $12. My only concern? You may use it so much you run out of it quick.

Farmacy Deep Sweep Toner

Ah, the humble toner. So often left in the dust, but so critical to clear skin. It’s especially important for those with oily skin tones.

2% BHA gently exfoliates and removes excess oil[15] while moringa purifies skin. I’m a big advocate for greens, though I don’t get enough, and for all the green-product lovers out there, the Deep Sweep Toner toner uses chlorella[16], a rich source of antioxidants.

Speaking of loving green, Farmacy encourages the use of upcycling. I think this jar makes a perfect mini vase for other green things and flowers. Grab a bottle of this alcohol-free toner in a 120 ml/4 fl. oz size for $28.

Farmacy Skin Care Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Farmacy Skin Care Review

I’m a big fan of Farmacy Beauty, I’ve even used some of its products. I love its ingredients and sustainable practices, the packaging, and the overall vibe.

But I don’t expect you to take just my word for it, so in this part of my Farmacy Beauty review, I turned to customer feedback. My first stop? where I took note of a few ratings and put them down below:

  • Green Clean: 4.9/5 stars, 2,622 reviews
  • Honeymoon Glow: 4.8/5 stars, 1,256 reviews
  • Deep Sweep: 4.9/5 stars, 672 reviews
  • Daily Greens: 4.8/5 stars, 1,563 reviews
  • Honey Savior: 4.8/5 stars, 359 reviews

Since the Green Clean is the brand’s most popular product, I looked into its comments section. Here’s what one shopper said in their Farmacy Beauty review:

Will never use another make-up remover! Gentle. No rubbing needed. Takes off everything. Even hair color from your skin!

Almost every Farmacy skincare review found on the brand’s website explodes with positivity and excitement. Farmacy’s best selling products have hundreds of 5-star ratings

Reviews that feature customer’s pictures show fresh looking, beautiful skin that makes me say WOW. Take for example, one Farmacy Beauty review about the highly-rated Honey Savior Repair Salve:

“The salve is great, especially during these times of intense hand washing and sanitizer. It is nice to use honey savior to coat my hands, lips and arms. Highly recommended!”

Heading off of the brand’s website, I checked in with Sephora to see what customers thought about the Deep Sweep Toner. With an overall score of 4.5/5 stars from 714 shoppers, here’s what one had to say in their Farmacy Beauty review:

LOVE LOVE LOVE. I have problematic skin (uneven tone/texture, large pores etc.) My favorite way to use this is on an exfoliating cotton pad. The stuff it sloughs off is unreal. It leaves my skin feeling tighter, firmer, cleaner, and smoother.

Branching off in search of more, I learned that some have issues regarding skin sensitivities to certain formulas, and while I don’t totally blame Farmacy, it’s something to keep in mind when shopping.

Overall, Farmacy Beauty comes off as a trusted, well-loved brand by loyal customers who’ve left thousands of glowing reviews on the brand’s website. To find the right formula for your skin, shop within your category or schedule a virtual skincare consultation with one of the brand’s experts.

Is Farmacy Beauty Worth It?

Farmacy Skin Care Review

During this Farmacy Beauty review, I discovered a lot of positives on the brand. From its eco-conscious and cruelty-free mission, to its carefully sourced and formulated products and its desire to give back.

While this skincare line is more expensive than drugstore brands, the pricing is fairly average for premium beauty products. I’m willing to pay a little more for something if it works, and judging from the reviews I read, it does.

Taking into consideration the abundance of positive reviews and pictures on the website, numerous awards, and glowing feedback from other websites and media outlets, I think you’ll likely have a good experience with Farmacy products.

So, is Farmacy a good brand? If I didn’t make it clear in this Farmacy Beauty review so far, I certainly think so and that it’s worth a try.

Is Farmacy vegan?

I first thought yes, but actually, Farmacy Beauty has a line of products that uses purified honey and royal jelly. After doing a little digging, I read that they brand approaches bee farming with the utmost care, ensuring to take only the excess honey, leaving the bees what they would need to eat to normally survive.

If you’d rather keep things 100% vegan, Farmacy Beauty has a ton of products that do not use honey.

Is Farmacy all natural?

Though while researching the brand for this Farmacy Beauty review I didn’t find any claims that they are “all natural,” I do know that they formulate with only “safe, skin-nourishing ingredients… banning those that may harm your skin (1,300+ banned ingredients and counting!)” and “choose only non-GMO ingredients”.

Scanning the ingredients labels of a few products reveals a heavily natural list free of synthetic fragrances, but not one that’s completely natural.

Are Farmacy products cruelty free?

Farmacy Beauty is proud to proclaim that they never test on animals at any stage of the “farm-to-face” process. Neither do they ask third parties to conduct animal testing on their behalf. I’m happy to report that they also require that all raw ingredient suppliers conform to the EU animal testing ban.

Is Farmacy safe for pregnancy?

All Farmacy Beauty products are put to the test and are generally regarded as safe for use during pregnancy. But, as always, it’s best to consult your doctor before trying anything new.

How long does Farmacy take to ship?

Farmacy Beauty ships within the US and Puerto Rico, with no international options available at the moment. Standard shipping is free on orders $40 or more, before taxes and after any discounts or promotions have been applied. If your order is under $40, there is a $5 delivery fee for standard shipping. Farmacy deliveries usually take between 2-6 business days, while orders placed during busier times may take longer to process.

If you would like expedited shipping within the US, Farmacy Beauty offers a 2-day shipping option for $15. However, they cannot ship expedited orders to military addresses or P.O boxes. Note that the 2-day expedited shipping guarantee starts when the order leaves their warehouse, not from when you make the order.

Once you place an order, Farmacy will send a shipping confirmation via email that includes a tracking number. You can use the included link to check the most up to date status of your delivery.

What is Farmacy Beauty’s Return Policy?

I’ve found that Farmacy returns are as clean and straightforward as their products. If ordered through their website, they guarantee 100% satisfaction. If not completely happy with your Farmacy Beauty order, you can return new or gently used items for a refund or exchange within 30 days of receiving them. For all returns and to cancel a product auto-ship, send an email to [email protected].

Return shipping is free. Once you email customer care regarding your return, a representative will email you a prepaid return label. When Farmacy receives your items, allow 7–10 business days for your refund to process. To receive a refund for kits, gift sets, and duos, you must return all of the items that were originally included. At the moment, Farmacy Beauty is not able to offer exchanges.

If you purchased a Farmacy Beauty product from another retailer, refer to their return policy.
