About Kyte Baby

Kyte Baby Review

With one in every ten babies experiencing eczema, it is hardly a rare condition, but it is heartbreaking for you if you are a parent of a baby suffering from it.

Bamboo is a soft, breathable solution for fabric that touches their skin. Kyte Baby manufactures bamboo clothes and bedding for babies and adults, so let’s take a look at this American brand.

Kyte Baby gets a lot of media attention, including being rated the No 1 Wearable Blanket by The Bump in 2019, along with 622k followers on Instagram and 56k on Facebook. Other notable media include People, Motherly, Forbes, and Reader’s Digest.

My Kyte Baby review aims to help you decide whether this brand is right for you based on their promotions, products, and customer reviews.

Overview of Kyte Baby

Kyte Baby Review

When one of Ying Liu’s daughters experienced chronic eczema, she found that the only way to soothe her itchy skin at night was to open her pajamas. This led Liu on a quest for a fabric that was breathable, so her daughter could stay cooler, yet warm and gentle enough not to irritate her skin. Liu discovered that bamboo was the solution.

Bamboo rayon comes from bamboo fibers, a grass that doesn’t need replanting. It is considered one of the world’s most renewable resources and is completely organic. Here’s how it stacks up against cotton since both are used for children’s clothes:

  1. Sustainability: bamboo takes less water as well as regrows naturally and quickly
  2. Fabric: bamboo is softer but more durable with a higher thread count
  3. Breathability: bamboo absorbs sweat and doesn’t stick to the body
  4. Sensitivity: bamboo is hypoallergenic and uses no pesticide or fertilizers
  5. Temperature: bamboo is 3 degrees cooler than cotton

Kyte Baby was conceived in 2014. On a family visit to China, Liu mentioned her plans to her aunt, who had worked her way up to owning a manufacturing company. She suggested that her niece should let her factory manufacture the Kyte Baby products in their slow times. It was a win-win for both of them and kept her employees working in the off-season.

In little time, the one Kyte Baby store became five. They are now considered one of the best and most sustainable brands of baby clothes. The brand launched more lines to include toddler and adult clothes, bedding, and bath accessories, but for this Kyte Bay review, we’ll stick to sleep sacks and blankets.

Before I check out their products, let’s steer this Kyte Baby review into some of the brand’s highlights.

Highlights

  • Financing with afterpay
  • Organic and environmentally friendly
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Silky soft
  • Cool and breathable

Kyte Baby Sleep Sacks Review

Kyte Baby sleep sacks come in sizes for newborns to 4-year-olds, 20 colors, 2 prints, and TOG ratings between 0.5 to 2.5. TOG is the measurement of how well a fabric retails heat. They also come in full sack or walker style.

My Kyte Baby review will take a peek at a couple of these best-selling sleep bags.

Kyte Baby Sleep Bag Walker In Sage Review

Your little one could be nice and cozy while toddling around in the Kyte Baby Sleep Bag Waker in Sage. The soft green color is gender-neutral and goes with any baby’s skin tone. This sleeping bag, with legs, looks adorably like a pair of over-alls genie pants. The cuffs keep the warmth inside while keeping the feet from slipping back in.

At a 1.0 TOG, the Kyte Baby Sleep Bag Walker is ideal for an ambient temperature of around 69-73 degrees Fahrenheit. The sack is made from 97% bamboo rayon and 3% spandex with dual-direction zips, and the filling is 100% polyester. Sizes come from 6 months to 4 years.

Let your adorable little genie out of their lamp in cozy comfort for $65.

Kyte Baby Sleep Bag In Storm 1.0 Review

While the Sleep Bag Walker is ideal for moving about and playing, the Kyte Baby Sleep Bag In Storm is for resting. This sleeping bag is the brand’s piece de resistance of their collections. Voted the No 1 Wearable Blanket by The Bump in 2019, it’s incredibly soft and longer than others of its kind for the comfort of taller babies.

At a TOG of 1.0, it is the best option for year-round comfort. The dual-direction zips are a game-changer. The worst part of changing diapers is not the actual diaper – we get used to that – but rather the fight to get to the diaper. This zipper allows you to not have to remove the bag to get to your baby. The tab at the neck keeps the zip from irritating your baby.

The storm color is a neutral light grey that can work with any baby’s skin tone and almost any nursery decor. The breathable nature of bamboo fabric keeps your baby warm but not overheated. The material is also soft and soothing on sensitive skin. Sizes come from 0 to 36 months.

Your baby can sleep well without getting caught in, or sticking to, their sheets for $50

Kyte Baby Blanket Review

Kyte Baby blankets come in sizes baby/swaddler, toddler, and adult with 20 colors and 6 prints. Their TOG ratings are from 1.0 to 2.5. 2.5 retains the most heat and is best for colder atmospheres. 1.0 is a pretty solid year-round blanket rating.

Up ahead in this Kyte Baby review, I’ll explore a couple of their best-selling blankets.

Kyte Baby Printed Toddler Blanket In Aloe Rainbow Review

Your toddler will be over the rainbow with joy with this blankie. Since little fingers like to fidget, it is made with the same bamboo spandex as the sleeping bags, so it is soft and durable. The Kyte Baby Printed Toddler Blanket in Aloe Rainbow has a solid green, quilted back with rainbows printed on the white front. The rainbows are in muted, neutral colors.

While writing this Kyte Baby review, I discovered that this blankie is in such high demand that they limit the purchase to one per household, perhaps because it is the ideal starter blanket after the sleeping bag.

Get this blanket for your pot at the end of the rainbow for $70.

Kyte Baby Adult Quilted Blanket In Oat Review

Just because you’re an adult doesn’t mean that you can’t get in on this comfy, cozy warmth. Apparently, others found this out, too, as this blanket is also limited to one per household. With a TOG of 2.5, the Kyte Baby Adult Quilted Blanket is the brand’s warmest. In oat, it goes in any room, for lounging or sleeping.

This quilted blanket is 65″ x 85″, lightweight and soft. The only problem that I can see is that it may cause fights over who gets to use it. Perhaps a game of shotgun could help? This popular blanket sells for $180.

Who Is Kyte Baby For?

Kyte Baby Review

Kyte Baby is for anyone looking for safe, comfortable, hypoallergenic clothes, bath accessories, or bedding. It is especially good for people with babies who have sensitive skin, whether from a condition or not. That said, most babies and kids have more sensitive skin than adults, so this brand is suitable for all babies.

One contributor to Sudden Infant Death is overheating. Since bamboo is naturally cooler and breathes so as not to retain too much heat, it can help with keeping your baby warm, but not too warm. Kyte Baby sleeper sacks are extra long, so they can accommodate kids who are tall for their age.

Kyte Baby is also great for environmentally conscious people, given bamboo’s sustainability and lack of chemicals.

Kyte Baby Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Kyte Baby Review

So, it’s time to take a look at how the Kyte Baby reviews and ratings by their customers stack up. First, worth noting is that they have no reviews in Trustpilot and one unseen complaint with the Better Business Bureau marked closed. They are not a member, yet the BBB rates them A+.

Let’s take a look at the ratings from Kyte Baby reviews on their website:

  • Sleep Bag Walker in Sage: 4.4/5 stars out of 376 reviews
  • Sleep Bag in Storm 1.0: 5/5 stars out of 4679 reviews
  • Printed Toddler Blanket In Aloe Rainbow: 5/5 stars out of 71 reviews
  • Adult Quilted Blanket in Oat: 5/5 stars out of 618 reviews

These numbers are consistent with what I found across the web during this Kyte Baby review. The walker sleeper sack had an issue with the seams popping, which the company fixed.

They also sent customers affected by it new items. Even with this issue, the Sleep Bag Walker still rated 4.4/5 overall as there were so many 5/5 star ratings.

Hopefully, this customer on Amazon discovered that Kyte Baby does have blankets for adults. In the meantime, they loved the toddler blanket for its softness and durability. They say: “This is such a good quality blanket and SOOO SOFT WOW. I want a big one for my bed! But this is good for babies who use a security blanket.”

The Kyte Baby Sleep Bag earned 5/5 stars out of 4 reviews on Nurtured. One customer explains how small design details make these sleeping bags stand out from the crowd. They say:

“This sleep sack was exactly what I was looking for. It’s extremely soft and offers extra length above and beyond other sleep sacks that I’ve tried. This is the only brand where my baby actually fits in her proper size category. The sleep sack is well designed and accessible from both zipper ends, and doesn’t hinder baby’s movement. I’ll be getting a thicker one for the fall winter, for sure.”

On the brand’s website, this customer explains why they aren’t sharing their Kyte Baby Adult Quilted Blanket. They say:

“Absolutely love the bamboo material, it feels amazing and it’s great at keeping you cool yet very warm at night. I love that is has the tog system like the sleep sacks, the weight of the blanket is perfect. My boyfriend finally wants to share blankets again but it’s all mine. even my little babes loves it too!”

Looks like this brand has a lot of happy customers, which of course, means lots of happy babies!

Is Kyte Baby Worth It?

Kyte Baby Review

So, to the crux of the matter. Is this brand worth your money, especially as they are not inexpensive? To conclude this Kyte Baby review, I have no qualms in saying yes, yes, and yes again.

What price will you pay for your baby or child to sleep comfortably, cozily, and safely? What price will you pay to not further bother your baby’s irritated skin from eczema or other skin conditions?

I found consistently high customer ratings and Kyte Baby reviews based on the brand’s quality, softness, and design details. On top of that, their products are environmentally-friendly.

Their website offers a loyalty program, financing, and clearance sales to help you save. Either way, Kyte Baby is more than worth it.
