About Naturalizer

Naturalizer Review

If you’re an avid shoe shopper, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of Naturalizer before. Known for its selection of orthopedic footwear, this fashion brand aims to combine functionality and style together. It’s mainly targeted toward women, as they offer heels, boots, and sandals on their website.

Boasting over 56.1K followers on Instagram, Naturalizer seems to be a customer favorite when it comes to footwear. Vogue has even gone as far as to name the company “the sleeper shoe brand of the summer.” They’re also featured in other online magazines, including StyleCaster, Cosmopolitan, and Good Housekeeping.

Not keen on copping those $1,500 Opyum Sandals from Yves Saint Laurent? If you prefer a compromise between style and practicality, perhaps this brand can be of some help.

Keep reading, as in this Naturalizer review, I’ll take an in-depth look at the company, its products, customer ratings, promotions, and more to help you decide if they’re worth checking out.

Overview of Naturalizer

Naturalizer Review

Established in 1927, you can say that Naturalizer took advantage of the ragtime jazz craze of the golden age.

Dancing requires a good set of shoes, and it doesn’t solely rely on aesthetics. You can’t do the ‘varsity drag’ or the ‘charleston’ without a comfy set of kicks, which was presumably the focal point of the brand itself.

Headed by an unknown founder, Naturalizer was one of the first brands to successfully combine style and functionality together

Run by parent company Caleres, Naturalizer continues to produce trendy, high-quality shoes without sacrificing comfort.

“A shoe so elegant in its simplicity for a reason: it was designed to the contours of a woman’s foot. The result? Comfort. Quite simply it’s why we exist. A promise of forever elegant silhouettes with all-day wearability,” via a statement made on their website.

Before I kickstart this Naturalizer review, let’s go over some initial highlights.

Highlights

Naturalizer Review
  • A wide selection of footwear to choose from
  • Designed to be practical and stylish
  • Affordable
  • Offers Zip as an alternative payment option
  • Free shipping on orders $65 or more

I’ll be totally honest with you, I didn’t have the best impression of Naturalizer from the get-go. The designs featured on the storefront, coupled with the ones crowding the shoe aisle at my local thrift shop, were often outdated.

With that in mind, I was quite surprised when I visited their website for the first time. Modern, stylish, and aesthetically pleasing, Naturalizer has finally received its overdue glow-up.

From nude boots to Pinterest-esque loafers, this footwear company has it all when it comes to trendy shoes. They also offer a wedding section in case you’re looking for the perfect formal heel. Care for a list of recommendations? If so, I’ll highlight a few of their best-sellers next in this Naturalizer review.

Naturalizer Flats Review

Ballet flats have finally made a comeback. If you have yet to cop yourself a pair, I’ll spotlight one of the brand’s top sellers in this Naturalizer review.

Naturalizer Vivienne Flat Review

Leather shoes, while elegant, can often feel stiff and uncomfortable. There’s a reason why Doc Martens require a couple of days of breaking in.

If you want to ‘hit the ground running’ without the worry of blisters, the Vivienne Flat shoes are constructed with softened leather and suede for a more cushioned fit. Enhanced with contour+ technology, a non-slip outsole, and a soft fabric lining, these kicks can ensure zero-fuss walks.

Available in several colors, I recommend playing up with the ballerina theme by wearing a fitted bodysuit, a wrap mini-skirt, and a cute hair bun. The Vivienne Flat currently retails for $70 instead of its original $80 price tag.

Naturalizer Sandals Review

No shoe closet is complete without a glamorous pair of sandals. Case in point, I’ll feature one of the brand’s most popular designs for trendsetters to consider.

Naturalizer Baylor Dress Sandal Review

Considered the perfect heel for casual date nights, the Baylor Dress Sandal is both complex and simple. Its nude hue helps to provide the illusion of long legs, while the intercrossing straps work wonders in adding some visual interest.

Complemented with a short stiletto, a gold adjustable buckle, and a peep-toe design, these kicks can pair with several different outfits. They’re also constructed with contour+ technology to ensure all-around comfort.

If nude isn’t your thing, then you’ll be glad to know that the $90 Baylor Dress Sandal also comes in gold, black, and silver. It’s currently on sale for only $70

Naturalizer Heels Review

I can’t put my finger on it, but there’s something about heels that makes you feel powerful. Perhaps it’s the added height or maybe the clicking sound when you walk down the sidewalk. Nevertheless, it’s imperative to own at least one or two pairs.

Naturalizer currently offers stilettos, pumps, block heels, loafers, and other types of trendy designs. Below, I’ll discuss one of their top-selling styles that’s worth a second glance.

Naturalizer 27 Edit Ayla Pump Review

Black heels are the LBD of fashionable footwear. Red, on the other hand, is designed to make a statement. If you’re looking to instill fear among your friends, family, or colleagues, the 27 Edit Ayla Pump shoes can do just the trick.

Featuring a v-shaped vamp, a pointed-toe silhouette, and a thin stiletto, this gorgeous bestseller imbues a sense of class, sophistication, and confidence. Like all Naturalizer shoes, it also comes with contour+ technology for comfort.

Set with a leather lining, an adjustable buckle, and a proprietary rubber outsole for added safety, these kicks are designed to withstand normal walking conditions. The $140 27 Edit Ayla Pump is currently on sale for just $100

Naturalizer Boots Review

Fall weather is boot weather. Fortunately, this footwear brand provides an excellent selection of kicks to choose from. To keep things sweet and short, I’ll only highlight one of their most top-rated designs in this Naturalizer review.

Naturalizer Taelynn Wide Calf Knee High Boot Review

Ariana Grande is known to wear towering platform knee-high boots. While you’re welcome to cop her aesthetic, I understand if it’s not the most practical option for everyday situations.

Let me introduce to you the Taelynn Wide Calf Knee High Boot from Naturalizer: a functional alternative designed with comfort in mind. Enhanced with contour+ technology, these kicks won’t encourage blisters, cramps, and inflammation.

Featuring a metallic buckle detail, straps, and a 3 ½” stiletto heel, the Taelynn Wide Calf Knee High Boot is currently available in three different colors. It’s now on sale for just $200 instead of its original markup of $265

Who Is Naturalizer For?

Naturalizer Review

Shoe addicts know the pain of choosing aesthetics over functionality. Fashion often demands sacrifice, especially when it comes to haute couture. Obviously, not all of us frequent met galas and fancy events, which is why brands like Naturalizer exist.

Designed for everyday living, the company’s selection of footwear combines comfort and style together to create the perfect go-to. They’re quite affordable as well, compared to designer labels like YSL and Prada.

Naturalizer Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Naturalizer Review

Despite its prevalence, I could only find a few reviews on Naturalizer. This also includes testimonials posted on the company’s official page. The consensus is quite mixed, as customers seem divided on the brand’s customer service and product quality. To kick things off, I thought it best to feature some of their ratings in this Naturalizer review.

  • The Vivienne Flat: 104 reviews with 4.3/5 stars
  • The Baylor Dress Sandal: 45 reviews with 4.6/5 stars
  • The 27 Edit Ayla Pump: 2 reviews with 5/5 stars

Comfortable, versatile, and trendy in design, Naturalizer shoes appear to be worth the investment for dozens of trend-conscious customers. Additionally, buyers report that they were able to wear their heels to formal events without experiencing any pain.

“These little shoes are great! Very comfortable and the finish on the leather is just right—not too shiny, not too dull. The fit is perfect,” one customer wrote for the Vivienne Flat

“I never thought I would be able to wear heels again after breaking my ankle less than a year ago. These are so comfortable. I have them in two colors,” one reviewer detailed for the Baylor Dress Sandal

Reviewer websites like Sitejabber and Trustpilot feature mixed testimonials, as the brand scores  a mediocre rating of 2.1/5 stars. On the bright side, some users were satisfied with their purchases, as they reported that Naturalizer shoes were perfect for long work days.

“The customer service was fantastic and the shoes themselves are high quality and very comfortable for work plus are slip-resistant! (I’m a hostess and am standing for up to 8 hours). I looked absolutely everywhere for certified non-slip shoes that weren’t massive clogs and honestly this is the best place to look for a dressier style,” one customer wrote on Sitejabber.
