Overview of Nestpick

Nestpick Review

You can’t have the full scoop on a company without knowing how it began, so the first thing I’ll do in my Nestpick review is introduce you to its founders. Nestpick officially got its start in Berlin when Omer Kucukdere, Anil Yeni, and Fabian Dudek had a bright idea.

Instead of visiting a bunch of different websites to check out available rentals, they created a place where the world could go to see almost every possible option. Today, they have over 200 partners and offer their site in 7 languages

Helping to make your rental possible, once you find a place that looks good, they’ll link you to their partner sites where you’ll finalize your agreement. Sounds easy? It is. But don’t worry, there’s still a lot to unpack and learn in my Nestpick review. The brand’s highlights are up next.

Nestpick Apartment Finder Review

Nestpick Apartment Finder

First things first: Nestpick is a totally free service that helps you find a place to stay abroad or in a new city. They work with over 200 partner sites and have the largest database of accommodations online.

Offering mid and long-term furnished apartments (as well as a few unfurnished picks), you can browse through listings in over 3,000 cities until you find a place that meets your needs. You’ll have the option to set your filters (by rent amount, type of listing, amenities, etc.), and Nestpick will scan their database and show you your options.

Need more numbers? To help you understand how vast Nestpick’s reach is, it has a total of 3 million listings on its search engine, gathering what’s available from sites like Student.com, Spotahome, and Sublet.com.

A great option for nomads, students, or those looking to relocate, this easy-to-use tool makes moving a lot easier. Keep reading my Nestpick review to find out exactly how the service works.

How Does Nestpick Work?

Nestpick Review

Using Nestpick is super easy. All you need to do is head to nestpick.com and enter any major city in the world you wish to live in. From there, they’ll show you your options in list form and on a map from popular rental, room, and sublet sites. The format is similar to Airbnb, only, the prices are much more reasonable.

Once you find a listing you like, click View and you’ll be taken to a page with details about the house, the host, and the area you’ll be staying in. You can even see the dates the listing is available, browse photos, and Nestpick will recommend other similar properties if you’d like to explore your options.

Love the place? Enter the dates you wish you stay, and how many will be staying with you, and select View Deal. You’ll then be taken to the site on which the listing was originally posted, and you’ll be asked to create an account. From there, you can chat with the host and confirm your stay.

Who Is Nestpick For?

Nestpick Review

Nestpick is for people searching for short or long-term room, apartment, and student accommodation rentals. The service pools together options from a ton of different websites and shows you what’s available. If you want an easy and comprehensive way to search for options that fit your needs, this is the service for you.

Nestpick Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Nestpick Review

To get to know what Nestpick is really like, feedback is essential. Hearing from people who have used it is a great way to understand the ins and outs of the service, so in this section of my Nestpick review, I’ll be looking at a range of customer ratings and comments.

The first comes from Trustpilot, where the service was awarded 4.7/5 stars by 92 users. Here’s how that score breaks down:

  • 5 stars: 69%
  • 4 stars: 14%
  • 3 stars: 1%
  • 2 stars: 2%
  • 1 star: 14%

One Nestpick review there read: “It was really easy to find an apartment on Nestpick, we were searching for an apartment in Berlin for almost 2 months without any success but with Nestpick we found one easily, the handover was smooth and the apartment was splendid.”

Like this user, I was surprised by how many options I found on Nestpick, and similarly, I liked how easy it was to find a place to stay. It’s kind of a similar setup to Airbnb in that you don’t have to view the place or meet the landlord in person. So you can easily rent an apartment or room anywhere in the world.

As for the company’s customer service, this other Nestpick review from Trustpilot provides some insight: “Gina at Nestpick was very nice, responsive, and easy to work with. She made my booking experience much less stressful and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to book with Nestpick!”

So far so good, but still, it’s definitely worth checking out some other sources. Nestpick received a similarly high rating on the App Store, averaging 4.6/5 stars from 438 users. However, their score on Facebook was a little lower at 3.5/5 stars, given by 64 users.

One Nestpick review on Facebook read: “They were so helpful when I was looking for an apartment and was unable to be on site. They communicated with landlords for me and found me a great apartment in Paris for grad school.”

It’s clear that a lot of folks like Nestpick and found it useful, but some do mention unhelpful, sometimes rude, customer service. Still, there were far more positive comments than negative ones around the web, and it appears that people find the service easy to both use and find a place to stay abroad.

Nestpick vs Blueground

Nestpick Review

Blueground looks like the fancy version of Nestpick, even though Nestpick has comparably beautiful properties. With fewer city options than my featured service, Blueground says they handpick apartments and buildings in only the best areas.

Nestpick doesn’t do that per se, but they do score the neighborhoods each listing is in and lets you explore what’s around. Blueground homes are styled by an interior designer instead of a landlord, and all of them offer wi-fi, Smarthome entertainment, and toiletries.

Blueground certainly seems like the elevated option here, but of course, it comes with elevated prices. Both services offer month-to-month living and work for travelers, but Nestpick has a lot of places available for sublets while Blueground looks to be used mostly by nomads and business folk.

Is Nestpick Legit?

Nestpick Review

No matter what you’re buying or signing up for online, there are risks. And, unfortunately, so many people can have positive experiences with a service while others have nightmare experiences.

The worst story I came across while I was writing my Nestpick review came from someone who couldn’t get their deposit back even after reporting issues with a future landlord. This kind of feedback wasn’t super common, but it appears to be a known issue for the service.

Nestpick is undeniably legit. They’re not out to steal your money, but there are just things that are tricky to renege on you enter a legal contract. As always, know the rules before you commit.

Is Nestpick Worth It?

Nestpick Review

There’s no doubt that Nestpick is a fantastic concept. I loved how easy it was to view properties in cities around the world and browse by list or by map.

Nestpick assures that the landlords it works with are verified and trustworthy, but just be aware that once you send your deposit, you can’t get it back unless the property is uninhabitable. They’re pretty serious about that.

So is Nestpick worth it? Based on how convenient it is and how many people love it, I’d say so. Just be sure to read the fine print.

Nestpick Promotions & Discounts

Nestpick Review

One of the most valuable take-home points of my Nestpick review? The service is completely free to use. That in itself, my friends, is the best discount of all.
