About Pavlok

Pavlok Review

The Pavlok watch may be your secret weapon to getting out of bed first thing in the morning, especially if all you want to do is doomscroll and cuddle with your cat. Publications like The New York Times, Daily News, and The Verge have shared Pavlok with their global readers.

The watches use vibrations and chimes to nudge you awake, but if you don’t get up in time then a small zap will force you out of bed. It’s a small tradeoff of short-term pain for long-term pleasure, and the brand’s 13k Instagram followers happily make that trade.

In this Pavlok review, I will look at the aversion therapy-based products, how they work, who they’re designed for, and what customers think about them. To kick it off, let’s look at the brand’s highlights.

Pavlok Products Review

I’ll give you an overview of the brand’s three main products in this Pavlok review.

Pavlok Shock Clock Review

The idea behind the Pavlok Shock Clock is, “wake up, or else.” This device nudges you awake with soothing sounds before zapping you if you don’t turn it off in time. It has an internal alarm clock you can set to your liking.

Alternatively, you can rely on the Pavlok Shock Clock’s sleep-tracking mechanism and allow it to determine the best time to wake you up.

This watch also detects motion to prevent you from shutting it off and going back to sleep. If you don’t start moving right away, it’ll zap you again.

You can pick the Shock Clock up for $150.

Customers say: “This morning I woke up right before it shocked me (mind you I have 60 seconds between each stage so I get shocked 2 minutes after the beep goes off). So I guess it does work but I am not a morning person and it makes you rush from sleep to awake so you can remember how to turn it off to not get shocked. This watch works but you’re gonna hate it as any hard sleeper hates things that wake them. “

Pavlok 2 Review

The next item in my Pavlok review is an updated version of their Pavlok 2 device. It’s similar to the previous product with some minor differences. It has a five-day battery life, comes in a variety of colors, and communicates with a plethora of health and productivity apps, including:

  1. Google Fit
  2. Fitbit
  3. RescueTime
  4. Todoist
  5. Apple Health

The Pavlok 2 can be yours in red, blue, pink, or black for $150.

Customers say: “The Pavlok 2 is an awesome product and it is obvious that a lot of time, thought, and energy has gone into its design and functionality. The device itself has a really good battery life and is comfortable on the wrist. The app (which programs the device) works fairly smoothly as well.

Pavlok 3 Review

The Pavlok 3 represents the latest step in Pavlok’s progression. It works with the Pavlok app to improve your quality of life by building better habits. The watch can track your steps and activity, follow you into the shower (it’s waterproof up to 3 feet), and send reminders to engage in mindfulness exercises.

You can attach the Pavlok 3 to your Apple Watch or wear it on its own. The silicone-banded sports version costs $190 while the deluxe version with a metallic mesh wristband costs $220.

Customers say: “At 150$ I think Pavlok satisfies that Niché. Through multiple locations,it is water resistant. I’ve had this device for 6 months and it wakes me up instantly each day. For those that really sleep deeply through alarms I recommend to turn it 50% Snap and higher.

Who Is Pavlok For?

Pavlok Review

Originally, Pavlok’s customer base would’ve been people who need extra encouragement to start their day correctly. While those people will still enjoy the items in this Pavlok review, the brand’s advancements have widened their audience to those trying to re-energize their lives.

Pavlok Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Pavlok Review

Here are the customer Pavlok review scores collected from Amazon.

  • Pavlok Shock Clock: 3.7/5 stars based on more than 1,000 pieces of customer feedback
  • Pavlok 3: 3.6/5 stars based on more than 350 pieces of customer feedback
  • Pavlok 2: 3.3/5 stars based on more than 90 pieces of customer feedback

There weren’t a ton of aggregate Pavlok review scores outside of Amazon, but I did find the brand’s 4/5 stars average score on Knoji. This score aggregated more than 50 pieces of customer feedback.

Customers praised Pavlok watches for delivering on their promise of building discipline. Many users started waking up earlier, going to the gym, or working right after waking thanks to their Pavlok watch.

I love Pavlok 3 and think it’s great! I have had it for a week or so now (5-6 days?), have only charged it the first time when I opened the box, and it’s at 59% still. I use it fairly regularly, wearing it nonstop mostly throughout those days, and I use the stopwatch setting to constantly have vibrations and shocks going throughout my day. So it’s got great battery life, and it’s definitely waterproof enough for me,“ wrote one user on Reddit.

Some buyers critiqued the battery life of the watches, claiming that the products died after only a few days or that their batteries degraded over time.

Others felt that Pavlok watches were short on features and functionality for their price. These watches are quite pricey, but it seems customers who were satisfied with them didn’t mind paying that price. Here’s a Pavlok review from one such customer:

Very heavy sleeper here who has tried every kind of alarm clock there is. When I found this little miracle I was searching for yet another kind of alarm clock that might wake me up on time consistently. I’ve owned the product for about 2 weeks now and I have not overslept once. I have actually started waking up to the vibrate feature which is just about unbelievable. If you need to wake up on time and struggle with normal solutions this is it.

Before I conclude this section, I want to showcase one last buyer testimonial that cuts to the core of Pavlok’s appeal – the watch’s superiority over other alarm clocks.

After being late for work and other events many times I finally found this product as a last resort and I wish I found it years ago. The shock doesn’t hurt, just scares you a little at first. I find myself waking up before it even goes off which is amazing. I would recommend Shock Clock to anyone having trouble waking up.

Is Pavlok Legit?

Is Pavlok Worth It?

Pavlok Review

The Pavlok 3’s robust app connectivity and activity tracking certify it as the Pavlok watch that best justifies its price tag. While the other watches are nifty and useful, they’re expensive. That being said, if they help you wake up earlier, work harder, or improve your life, then I think they’re worth it.

How To Choose The Best Pavlok Watch

Pavlok Review

Before you shop for a Pavlok watch, ask yourself these questions:

  • Why do you want the watch? Are you intrigued by its alarm clock capabilities or its ability to help inspire productivity? Or, do you want to establish healthy habits?
  • What’s your budget? Pavlok watches aren’t cheap and besides the Pavlok 3, they’re barren in the features department.
  • What’s your lifestyle? Are you somebody who needs just a bit of extra encouragement in the morning or are there greater changes you need to make to your routine?
