Overview of Period Aisle

Period Aisle Review

Aisle launched in 1993 with Madeline Shaw at the helm. Shaw started as a fashion designer and drew up a design for reusable pads, initially called Lunapads. Next, she partnered up with Suzanne Siemens and pushed to develop the company internationally. Then, Aisle became one of the first companies to bring reusable period items to consumers.

The company believes that “the period aisle should be stocked with radically comfortable products that actually work” for anyone who menstruates and the Earth. So in 2012, they became a Canadian B Corp, meaning they monitor all aspects of production and ensure socially and environmentally responsible conditions

The Vancouver-based company is committed to delivering period products that “feel good, fit well” and never let their customers down. And with almost 30 years of experience, they’ve received awards and recognition for their sustainable and effective tech.

Now that you’ve read over the history lesson, I’ll kick this Period Aisle review off with some highlights:

Aisle Period Underwear Review

You can inch closer to a zero-waste lifestyle with the Aisle period underwear. From full coverage briefs to bikini-style underwear, these garments can fully replace your disposable products.

Period Aisle Boxer Brief Review

The Boxer Brief adopts the classic silhouette with an eye-catching waistband and full coverage. It’s made from organic cotton and spandex with recycled polyester lining. The best part is that it can hold up to 8+ tampons worth with the absorbency booster.

People with periods know that the heaviest days are the most uncomfortable. The Aisle Boxer Briefs can keep you cozy and dry. The absorbent Truetex™ tech will absorb four tampons worth of fluid, and the booster adds more security while you’re going about your day.

The Boxer Brief can be rinsed out with cold water and washed with your regular laundry load. It’s also available in sizes XXS-5XL and will run you $46

Period Aisle Brief Review

Next in this Period Aisle review are the full-coverage Briefs. Like the Boxer Brief, the classic Brief comes equipped with an additional booster for extra absorbent wear. It also has a high-waist fit for additional coverage and flattering fit.

This garment can replace up to 87 disposable pads. The company also estimates that 8km of driving emissions were avoided while manufacturing it. So, there’s no doubt that it’s an eco-friendly and soft alternative to traditional period items.

The Aisle Brief will cost $46 at checkout.

Period Aisle Hipster Review

If you’re not into high-waisted underwear, the Hipster underwear’s medium-rise will provide the perfect coverage while still being effective. But, of course, it also comes with the absorbency booster, which brings up the capacity to an equivalent of 8 tampons.

The fit around the thighs might feel a bit together than your regular pair of undies. But, this design helps prevent leaks and accidents without making you feel too uncomfortable. You could even use them as regular undies if you aren’t starting your cycle.

The Hipster underwear costs $42

Period Aisle Bikini Review

Last up in this Period Aisle review are the Bikini period undies with the absorbency booster. The low-rise style is similar to the classic bikini designs but has cheeky coverage. But no need to worry! They’re still equipped to keep you leak-free.

If you have a light to moderate flow, the Bikini underwear will do the job. You could even wear them on heavier days with no problem, but I’d suggest going for something with more coverage if you don’t want to take the risk. Regardless, the booster will keep you high and dry throughout the day.

You can get the Aisle Bikini underwear for $40

Who Is Period Aisle For?

Period Aisle Review

Aisle period care items are for anyone who menstruates. The underwear, cups, and reusable pads are a sustainable and earth-friendly alternative to tampons or disposable pads and are comfortable and easy to wash. You’ll also be saving money instead of purchasing period products every month.

How Do You Wash Aisle Period Underwear?

Period Aisle Review

Washing the Aisle period underwear is a cinch. They’re designed to be part of a regular load of laundry. But, before throwing them into the wash, rinse them out with cold water. Then, you can wash and dry them as you would any other pair of underwear. The company suggests washing them with like colors.

Period Aisle Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Period Aisle Review

You’re probably dying to know what customers think of the brand at this point of my Period Aisle review. So, I searched the internet for testimonials and came up with some on the main website, Influenster and Thing Testing.

Here are the average ratings for our featured products:

  • Boxer Brief: 4.7/5 stars out of 446 reviews
  • Brief: 4.7/5 stars out of 235 reviews
  • Hipster: 4.6/5 stars out of 355 reviews
  • Bikini: 4.8/5 stars out of 203 reviews

The Boxer Brief is obviously well-received on the company’s site. Users love the coverage and comfort they get when wearing the briefs on their heaviest days.

One customer writes, “I have a pretty heavy flow for most of my period. These boxers absorb so much, I don’t need to worry about any leakage! Also so gender affirming for a enby that has a complicated relationship with my cycle.”

Another happy reviewer writes, “I’ve tried other overnight period underwear before with mostly failed results and a whole lot of cleanup. Not this time. Aisle boxers did the job and held up all night with my heaviest flow. I’m extremely impressed.”

There’s nothing better than feeling good during your time of the month. The Hipster undies also get a lot of love from consumers, with reviewers loving the absorbency and style.

A customer says, “The thighs are tight to prevent leaking, but no so tight as to be uncomfortable. No ‘wet’ feeling like you get with some other pads and underwear, since the cotton material is just like any other underwear.”

As I said, the brand also gets high praise on external sites. There are positive Period Aisle reviews on Thing Testing, where the company has a 5/5 score.

One reviewer says, “I have been using the pads and under wear for years, they are both absorbent and comfortable. The pads also come in great Colours and patterns. My non binary teen loves the Aisle boxers so much they wear them everyday.”

There’s no doubt that customers love the brand. But there is some criticism regarding sizing issues and features like the liner pocket. But, these ratings are rare, and not all products will be comfortable for everyone. In addition, there aren’t many comments regarding customer service, but it seems like they’re doing well on that front.

Is Period Aisle Legit?

Period Aisle Review

Aisle is pretty legit. They receive a lot of fanfare on and off their main site, and customers seem ecstatic with the brand’s products. There aren’t any reviews that raise red flags regarding shipping or customer service. It’s safe to assume that the company does well in rectifying any issues.

Is Period Aisle Worth It?

Period Aisle Review

Based on this Period Aisle review, I think the brand is worth buying. The brand’s reusable menstrual products can save you money and get you closer to living a sustainable lifestyle.

In addition, they’re comfortable, absorbent, and perfect for any amount of flow. And with the rave reviews Aisle receives, it’s not hard to guess why I’ll give this brand the seal of approval.
