How Does Redwood Outdoors Work?
Redwood Outdoors offers a wide range of hot tubs, saunas, and glamping set-ups to get you outside. Using premium materials, your design will either be made from premium Canadian Red Wood or Thermowood.
The latter is made by heat treading Scandinavian softwood to 180-230° in kilns for up to 96 hours. This process makes your hot tub or sauna dimensionally stable, resistant to rot and fungi, and an excellent heat retainer.
The processes of how each of Redwood Outdoors’ hot tubs and saunas works is a little different, so let’s take a look at the Thermowood Panorama Sauna for example.
All of Redwood Outdoors’ Panorama Barrel Saunas are equipped with a Harvia electric sauna heater. There are also sauna rocks inside, and a water bucket and ladle that you’ll use to pour water on the hot rocks to create more steam.
Their wood barrel sauna can reach up to 195°F in under an hour, and thanks to their Scandinavian design, they spread the heat evenly through the inside.

Redwood Outdoors makes the kind of saunas and hot tubs you’d see in the movies at a getaway forest retreat. They’re incredible quality and, to be honest, they’re kind of beautiful. In other words, it’s easy to get swept away by their aesthetic, so in this section of my Redwood Outdoors review, I’ll bring us both down to earth by looking at customer feedback.
The first source we’ll check out is RedwoodOutdoors.com. Not every product has been reviewed, but these three have:

The first thing you’ll notice? All of the above have a 5/5 star rating. While I wish they had more reviews, there’s still a lot that can be learned from the comments available. One Redwood Outdoors review read:
“I am so happy I chose Redwood Outdoors when it came time to add a barrel sauna to my property. Not only is the quality of the sauna second to none, the customer service and help from Nick, Jordan, and the rest of the team at Redwood was top notch.”
The above comment for was the Cedar Barrel Sauna kit, and the following is for the Andromeda Geodesic Dome:
“Great customer service when buying the dome! Everyone I talked to was knowledgeable and communicative. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Plus the dome looks amazing now that it’s all built,” another shopper wrote in their Redwood Outdoors review.
From these two Redwood Outdoors reviews, it’s clear that the brand has excellent customer service, and it sounds like the quality of the saunas is truly top-notch as well. If you’re wondering what their products are like to assemble, I managed to find a Redwood Outdoors review that goes into detail. It reads:
“In today’s world, I don’t get to say this very often. This product exceeded my expectations. The instructions were well-written and thought out. I was able to get it done in one afternoon with a helping hand from my wife to lift and hold the heavier end pieces in place.”
All of the above comments came from the brand’s website, and while it was a little trickier to find feedback elsewhere, I did see a Redwood Outdoors review on Reddit. Regarding shipping time, the buyer reported that “shipping time was expected to be ~6 weeks and it was pretty accurate, which was great.”
They admitted running into some trouble with the instructions and had a somewhat confusing interaction with customer service, but it turned out they had an old set of instructions. After realizing the mistake and assembling it with much more ease, they said:
“Otherwise, it’s actually a nice little sauna. After the delay, it took us a while to schedule the electrician to get it connected. We’ve used it every day since (1 week) and absolutely love the convenience of having our own sauna.”
I appreciated reviews like the above because they help future customers avoid unnecessary issues. And even though this person faced frustration, in the end, they really enjoyed their sauna. For reference, the above Redwood Outdoors review was made two years ago.
Overall, the feedback I found was helpful. I wish there was a bit more of it, but it sounds like the majority who bought one of their saunas really enjoyed it.

Let’s tackle the elephant in the room first: Redwood Outdoor saunas aren’t cheap. And they shouldn’t be. They’re made with premium materials and expert design and they not only look beautiful, but they work beautifully too.

What is Redwood Outdoors Warranty Policy?

If you find that your product does have a defect, you will be entitled to a replacement or a repair of your unit. Your warranty starts on the date the product leaves Redwood’s warehouse and ends 365 days later. They can refuse to repair or replace your hot tub, sauna, or geodesic dome outside of this time.
How much Maintenance Does the Sauna Require?
The cool thing about Redwood Outdoors saunas is that they require very little maintenance. You can expect to:
- Wipe down the surfaces inside the sauna regularly.
- Hose down the exterior of your sauna regularly.
- Never use chemicals inside your sauna.
- After you are done with your steam, wipe up perspiration with a dry towel and leave the door open to dry out.
- Sweep or vacuum the interior occasionally.
If you notice dirt accumulating, use soap and warm water to scrub the spots gently. You can also use a low-pressure washer or a wide-pattern nozzle on your hose. Alternatively, you can use a piece of fine grit sandpaper to buff away stains if you prefer.
