About City Beauty

City Beauty Products Review

It can be tough to embrace aging, yet it’s something we all go through. I try not to be too wrapped up in my appearance, but I admit feeling the sting of worry as I check my face for wrinkles.

City Beauty is a high-end, cruelty-free cosmetics company that helps women age gracefully. Considered a maker of some of the best beauty products, the company creates formulas that address common beauty issues, such as dry and sagging skin, sparse lashes, and thin lips.

According to a study under a third of adults suffer from dry skin, leading to itchiness, flaking, and redness. The face also tends to lose volume and elasticity with age. Moreover, while sparse lashes aren’t exactly a medical condition, one study showed that women with enhanced lashes perceived themselves to be healthier and more feminine, which could boost their confidence.

If healthier-looking skin and beautiful lashes sound good to you, then read on. City Beauty could be of assistance.

The brand has an Instagram following of almost 125k, and they’ve been featured in notable media outlets such as Refinery 29, Good Housekeeping, ABC News, and Life & Style. I even read that their signature product, the City Lips® Plumping Lip Gloss won Good Housekeeping’s Best Beauty Award 2 years in a row.

But do its products hold up to their reputations? In this City Beauty products review, I’ll take an in-depth look at the brand and its bestsellers, customer ratings, promotions, and more, to help you decide if their functional makeup is worth the buy.

  1. A 2021 study found that topical application of alpha-arbutin, an ingredient used in City Beauty’s Illuminating Dark Spot Corrector, was effective in reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation and dark spots. The study showed that alpha-arbutin was able to inhibit melanin synthesis by up to 40%, the molecule responsible for skin pigment.
  2. A 2021 study investigated the effectiveness of hyaluronic acid in improving skin hydration and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The study found that hyaluronic acid was able to improve skin hydration by up to 63% and reduce the appearance of fine lines by up to 31%. Hyaluronic acid is a key ingredient in City Beauty’s Hydrating Repair Peptide Serum.
  3. A 2023 study investigated the effectiveness of retinol, an ingredient used in City Beauty’s Multi-Action Sculpting Cream. The study showed that retinol is effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. City Beauty Pros and Cons

City Beauty has become increasingly popular in recent years as a skincare brand that offers a range of products formulated with powerful ingredients that target various skin concerns. While City Beauty has received many positive reviews from customers, there are also some drawbacks to consider. In this article, we’ll discuss the pros and cons of using City Beauty skincare products.

Pros

  • High-quality ingredients: City Beauty uses high-quality, science-backed ingredients in their products, such as hyaluronic acid, retinol, and vitamin C. These ingredients are known to have beneficial effects on the skin, including improving hydration, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and brightening the complexion.
  • Effective formulas: The formulas of City Beauty products are specifically designed to target common skin concerns, such as fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and hyperpigmentation. The brand offers a range of products that cater to different skin types and concerns, so customers can find the right product for their specific needs.
  • Cruelty-free: City Beauty is a cruelty-free brand, meaning they do not test their products on animals. This is an important consideration for those who are conscious of their impact on the environment and animal welfare.
  • Money-back guarantee: City Beauty offers a 60-day money-back guarantee for their products. This gives customers the opportunity to try the products and see if they work for their skin before committing to a purchase.

Cons

  • Expensive: City Beauty products are on the pricier side, which can be a drawback for some customers who are on a budget. While the high-quality ingredients and effective formulas justify the price, it may not be a feasible option for everyone.
  • Limited availability: City Beauty products are only available on the brand’s website or through select retailers. This can be inconvenient for customers who prefer to shop in-store or who live outside of the US.
  • Some products may cause irritation: While City Beauty products are formulated to be gentle on the skin, some customers may still experience irritation or sensitivity. This is especially true for products that contain retinol or AHAs, which can cause dryness, redness, and peeling in some individuals.
  • Some products may not be suitable for all skin types: While City Beauty offers a range of products for different skin concerns and types, some products may not be suitable for all skin types. For example, those with very dry or sensitive skin may not be able to tolerate certain products that contain active ingredients.

In conclusion, City Beauty offers a range of high-quality skincare products that are designed to address common skin concerns. While the brand has many positive attributes, such as effective formulas and cruelty-free practices, there are also some drawbacks to consider, such as the high price point and limited availability.

Ultimately, it’s important to consider your individual needs and budget when deciding whether or not to try City Beauty products.

Ingredients

City Beauty uses a range of ingredients in their products, each with specific benefits. Here are some of their key ingredients:

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is a key ingredient in many City Beauty products. It is a powerful humectant that helps to attract and retain moisture in the skin, keeping it hydrated and plump.

Acetyl hexapeptide-8

Acetyl hexapeptide-8 is a synthetic peptide that is commonly used in anti-aging skincare products. It works by relaxing the facial muscles, which can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that can help to protect the skin from environmental stressors like pollution and UV rays. It also has brightening properties and can help to even out skin tone.

Retinol

Retinol is a form of vitamin A that is commonly used in anti-aging skincare products. It works by increasing cell turnover and stimulating collagen production, which can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Peptides

City Beauty products also contain a range of peptides, which are short chains of amino acids that can help to improve the appearance of the skin. Peptides can stimulate collagen production, improve skin elasticity, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Benefits

City Beauty products are formulated with a range of ingredients that offer numerous benefits for the skin. Here are some of the benefits you can expect from using their products:

Improved skin hydration and elasticity

Topical application of hyaluronic acid has been shown to improve skin hydration and elasticity, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Reduced appearance of wrinkles

A topical cream containing acetyl hexapeptide-8 has been shown to improve the appearance of wrinkles in the eye area.

Brighter, more even skin tone

Topical application of vitamin C can improve skin brightness and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Improved skin texture and tone

Topical application of retinol can improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, as well as overall skin texture and tone.

Improved skin firmness and elasticity

A peptide-based cream can improve skin firmness and elasticity, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

In summary, City Beauty products can help to improve skin hydration, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, brighten and even out skin tone, improve skin texture and tone, and improve skin firmness and elasticity.

Side Effects

City Beauty products are formulated with high-quality, non-toxic ingredients that are generally well-tolerated by most people. However, as with any skincare product, there is a potential for side effects or allergic reactions, especially if you have sensitive skin. Here are some things to keep in mind:

Increased skin sensitivity

Retinol is a powerful ingredient that can cause side effects like redness, dryness, and peeling, especially if you have sensitive skin. If you’re new to retinol, it’s important to start with a low concentration and gradually work your way up to avoid irritation.

Sensitivity to sunlight

Some City Beauty products contain alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) like glycolic acid or lactic acid, which can cause the skin to become more sensitive to sunlight, increasing the risk of sun damage and sunburn. It’s important to wear sunscreen and protective clothing when using products containing AHAs.

Irritation or sensitization

Some City Beauty products contain essential oils or fragrances, which can be irritating or sensitizing for some people and cause side effects like redness, itching, or rash. If you have sensitive skin or are prone to allergies, it’s a good idea to patch test a product before using it all over your face.

Remember that everyone’s skin is unique, and what causes side effects in one person may not affect another. If you’re concerned about a particular ingredient or product, it’s always a good idea to consult with a dermatologist or healthcare professional.

5 Best Selling City Beauty Cosmetics

City Beauty Multi-Action Sculpting Cream Review

I don’t think this is said enough: Every woman deserves to feel confident in her skin. Wrinkles and cellulite are natural parts of the aging process, but if they make you want to hide from the world, there are solutions.

The Multi-Action Sculpting Cream nourishes your skin to give it a firmer appearance. The cream effectively minimizes the toxins that contribute to a decrease in collagen.

It contains key ingredients such as Acacia Biopolymer, Biometric Tripeptide, and a Firming Peptide Blend. Acacia Biopolymer has been shown to have medicinal properties and has been traditionally used to treat ailments such as rashes and burns. Meanwhile, peptides have been shown to skin elasticity and moisture.

It all comes together to strengthen the “vital building blocks that give skin its springy feel”. Note that this lightweight lotion is made without parabens, mineral oils, phthalates, or sulfates.

If you want a more taut, elastic, and youthful look, I think this Multi-Action Sculpting Cream might be the answer. Massage a quarter-size amount of product onto your skin with upward strokes, and use it twice daily to see results.

To be honest, I did not think it would make much of a difference. How wrong I was,” one reviewer said. “I have used half the tub so far. After taking my husband out for a birthday lunch, the next morning I found a note from him saying I looked stunning and my skin was looking great!

The City Beauty sculpting cream comes in a 50ml size and costs $67 for a one-time purchase, or $44 with a membership.

City Beauty Invisicrepe Body Balm Review

I’ve seen my skin go from crepey to smooth with a simple swipe of moisturizer. Although age can be a factor in skin appearing more crepey by the day, dehydration isn’t doing you any favors either. Personally, I like to look wise and rested, not tired and defeated.

The Invisicrepe Body Balm helps restore your skin’s moisture balance while supporting its natural barrier.

It contains Niacinamide, which shields against environmental damage. Lipid Compounds also join in to improve hydration, and Ribose boosts collagen levels  to make your skin tight and stretchy. One study showed that women who used a topical ribose-based lotion for two weeks experienced a reduction in the surface area and length of wrinkles.

Apply it to clean, dry skin, and massage it until fully absorbed. City Beauty recommends focusing on areas that need special attention, such as your neck, chest, arms, and legs.

I am so impressed with this product,” another reviewer said. “It actually does what it claims it will do. The first product to reduce my crepey skin!

The InvisiCrepe Body Balm is compatible with all skin types and comes in 147ml size. It rings in at $60

City Beauty Illuminating Dark Spot Corrector Review

Dark circles under your eyes or spots on the back of your hand can be hereditary. I recently learned they can also arise due to pollutants, sun damage, or hormone imbalance. We can’t strip our genes, but we can combat the rest of the list.

The Illuminating Dark Spot Corrector is a concentrated serum that will give you a more even and bright complexion. It minimizes discoloration and hyperpigmentation on the neck, hands, and face.

One happy City Beauty customer exclaimed, “This actually works! I am 72 years old and had some serious brown spots. Some were lifted too. I have used this faithfully for about 6 months and most have disappeared completely. More serious ones are almost gone. I am a believer in City Beauty.

As for what’s in this cream, it has Alpha-Arbutin to reduce the look of liver spots. One study showed it was able to decrease melanin synthesis by 40%. Melanin is the molecule in your skin responsible for pigment, which can cause hyperpigmentation and dark spot in high concentrations.

This ingredient is paired with Resveratrol, which is a natural antioxidant, and Amino Acid compounds to fight inflammation. The City Beauty Dark Spot Corrector is perfect for women of all ages.

Grab a 30ml bottle for $72. For added sun protection, pair it with the City Beauty Skin Perfecting Daily Veil sunscreen.

City Beauty Line Blurring Wrinkle Filler Review

I don’t have a ton of them, but I can’t help but worry about the fine lines forming around my eyes and on my forehead. I know a few women my age that have Botox, but I’d prefer to stay away from it.

The Line-Blurring Wrinkle Filler is an affordable and non-invasive alternative to dermal injections. This intensive treatment blurs any signs of exhaustion while instantly filling in creases.

It also plumps the skin from the inside out, giving a smoother, more awake appearance. Apply this filler on areas of concern, even if it’s a last-minute touch-up before a big event.

“Best wrinkle cream I’ve ever used,” another happy customer commented. “Honestly hides all the fine lines around eyes and lips. I’m 68 years young. 😊”

The key ingredient in this wrinkle filler is an essential Peptide and Ceramide blend that supports the skin’s natural repair mechanisms. A lack of ceramide is linked with skin disease, so supplementing your beauty regime with this product can help to keep your skin healthy.

Also incorporated is Diamond Powder, which is made from light-reflecting particles, perfect for diminishing deep lines in favor of a diffused effect. It also contains the Skin Lifting Bio blend for a chiseled and firm finish.

The 7.5ml Line-Blurring Wrinkle Filler comes for a one-time purchase of $79.

If you live life in the public eye (or simply plan on using this product frequently), the subscription route might be more worthwhile. In that case, the filler will be dropped at your doorstep every month for only $44

City Beauty City Lips Matte Review

Shiny, glossy lips can be fun, but I love switching up my look. Matte lipsticks are a must-have in your makeup pouch. The City Lips Matte formula is non-drying, long-lasting, and buttery soft.

Long-term use gives your pout a healthier look with noticeable volume. What more could a woman ask for?

Apparently, not much. “I absolutely LOVE this product,” one shopper said. “Stays put – feels good – love it. More colors please!”

This creamy product contains Hyaluronic Acid, which, as you may already know, has conditioning benefits and is known to be safe and effective as a lip plumper. As it slightly tingles and plumps your lips, your days of overlining your lips are finally over (thank goodness).

As an added bonus, Jojoba Oil and Ylang Ylang flower extracts help to amp up the hydration.

City Lips Matte comes in 3 colors: Blush Rose, Pink Taupe, and Rosy Mauve. Get one for $35 (4.2ml).

Is Beauty City Clean?

As consumers become increasingly conscious about the products they use on their skin, the term “clean beauty” has gained popularity in recent years. Clean beauty refers to products that are formulated without certain ingredients that are believed to be harmful or potentially harmful to human health or the environment. These ingredients may include parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and synthetic fragrances, among others.

When it comes to the brand City Beauty, the question of whether it is considered “clean” may come to mind. The brand prides itself on using high-quality ingredients to create skincare products that are effective in improving the appearance of the skin. However, whether or not these ingredients meet the criteria for “clean” is up for debate.

While City Beauty does not explicitly market its products as “clean”, it does have a strict ingredient policy. The brand uses only high-quality, clinically-proven ingredients that are safe for use on the skin. In addition, all of City Beauty’s products are free from parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.

It’s important to note that the term “clean beauty” is not regulated, and there is no universal definition for what makes a product “clean”. However, City Beauty’s commitment to using safe, effective ingredients and excluding potentially harmful ones may align with what many consumers are looking for in a “clean” skincare brand.

Ultimately, whether or not a brand is considered “clean” is up to the individual consumer to decide based on their own values and preferences. However, it is clear that City Beauty places a high priority on using safe and effective ingredients to create skincare products that deliver real results.

Who Is City Beauty For?

City Beauty offers a wide range of skincare products that target various skin concerns. However, there is no one-size-fits-all answer to who City Beauty is for because every person’s skin is unique and has different needs. Nevertheless, if you’re someone who wants to improve your skin’s appearance and health, then City Beauty may have products that suit your skin type and concerns.

If you’re looking for skincare products that can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin, City Beauty has a few options that can help. For example, their InvisiCrepe Body Balm is formulated to address the appearance of crepey, sagging skin on the body, while their City Lips plumping lip glosses can help to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth.

City Beauty is also a great option for those looking to address hyperpigmentation and age spots. Their Illuminating Dark Spot Corrector contains a blend of ingredients like Alpha-Arbutin and Tranexamic Acid that work to reduce the appearance of dark spots and improve overall skin brightness.

If you’re looking for clean and cruelty-free skincare products, City Beauty also offers several options. Many of their products are formulated with natural and plant-derived ingredients that are gentle on the skin, making them ideal for those with sensitive or reactive skin.

In conclusion, City Beauty is suitable for those who want to improve their skin’s health and appearance, particularly for those with concerns about aging, hyperpigmentation, and sensitivity. However, as with any skincare product, it’s important to patch test and check the ingredients list to ensure that the product is right for you.

City Beauty Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

City Beauty Products Review

For this part of my City Beauty products review, I took a look at customer feedback online to find out what people really thought of the brand.

Trustpilot reviews gave the brand 4.3/5 stars based on 2,407 reviews. See the snapshot below for a breakdown:

  • Excellent: 595
  • Great: 30%
  • Average: 4%
  • Poor: <1%
  • Bad: 6%

What do customers love so much about the brand? I read that many believe that their skin started appearing smoother and that wrinkles weren’t as noticeable.

People commented that the sculpting cream “lives up to its promise” and has a nice smell and consistency. One pleased customer wrote, “There is definitely a visual difference in the appearance of facial fine lines.”

The Better Business Bureau also awarded this company an accreditation with an A+ rating.

The average rating for the brand from customer reviews on the BBB website is 4.4/5 stars out of over 2,411 reviews with customers loving the products’ effectiveness, promotions, and customer service. I’ve seen loads of BBB scores before, so I can say with confidence that City’s are pretty great.

One customer who loved the City Lips and left a review on the BBB stated:

“Love the gloss! It keeps my lips moist which have always been dry and become chapped easily. My lips are plump and give a pinkish tint so I don’t need to wear lipstick. Keep one in my bathroom and one in my purse.”

Sitejabber reviews were equally as positive, with 4.3/5 stars based on 1,348 reviews. Ok, now this is where City Beauty really impressed me. Sitejabber is notorious for holding tough feedback and I don’t often come across scores above 3 stars there.

The testimonials I came across on Sitejabber for this City Beauty products review came across spoke of:

  • Excellent product quality
  • Good customer service
  • Quick results

Specifically, there were many positive reviews for the City Beauty Invisicrepe Body Balm, with one customer stating that:

The moment I saw an ad on InvisiCrepe Body Balm I knew I would try it…The results have been astonishing! Speechless! I can’t get over the visuals. Your products continue to amaze me especially when you see the results before your eyes.”

Reddit forums also hosted many City Lips reviews with glowing testimonials confirming that it is a superb gloss that feels hydrating.

Finally, I took a look at their website, where all of their products received ratings over 4 stars. City Beauty Multi-Action Sculpting Cream reviews were in line with the other impressed comments found online.

One senior customer wrote, “This cream is AMAZING! I’ve been using it about three weeks and the results have been unmistakable. Chin and jaw smooth and taunt looking. I’ve bought 3 more jars already and will be trading in my high end $240.00/jar stem cell cream for this!”

On all of these resources, negative reviews were difficult to find since buyers seem to be loving these products on all fronts. But, there were a few that came up in my research.

Some reviewers on the BBB website noted trouble with returns and the check-out process and being charged for items not in their cart. It’s clear to me that the pros outweigh the cons here and I can finish up this City Beauty products review with confidence in the brand.

Are City Beauty Products Worth It?

City Beauty Products Review

After everything I’ve learned throughout this City Beauty products review, I thinks that its makeup and skincare items are worth it.

The company has won over more than just me, as many loyal customers express appreciation for its formulas. Older users report feeling more confident in their skin knowing that these lotions and serums were made with their specific concerns in mind.

A convenience enthusiast, I appreciate their monthly subscription that takes care of refills— I found this especially helpful for the Line Blurring Wrinkle Filler or City Lips.

Is City Beauty any good? I’m happy to say that negative reviews or criticism was difficult to come by online. Users are seeing immediate results, such as plump lips, longer lashes, and youthful skin with the brand’s formulas. Because of that, it’s apparent to me that they do indeed work.

The few negative reviews that I found about the brand detailed issues with refunds and buyers being charged for products they did not order.

If this does occur, the brand’s 60-day return policy is a good safety net to use. Either way, I think these products are way less risky and expensive than botched clinical procedures and are worth looking into—especially considering that they’ve won awards and are so well known for their long-lasting anti-aging results.

Am having the darndest time wanting to order online several of your different products at the same time! Why? It only makes sense. It is more expensive & takes more time to get anything shipped to ur door & pray that if it even does arrive by courier, it is always robbed! Am wanting to order once or twice, targeting several DIFFERENT products at a time! WHY IS IT I CANNOT DO THIS? Wish to order
one of each to try them first, b4 subscibing!! How? What r City Gold offers, please?
