About Elegoo

Elegoo Review

Hoverboards, jet packs, and gene editing are just three incredible human advancements that exist. In my opinion, nothing screams the Squidward ‘future’ meme than 3D printing.

If you consider yourself a creator or inventor, Elegoo offers a curated assortment of LCD and FDM printers on its website.

Meant to encourage those interested in STEM, Elegoo printers can create mini sculptures, toys, or parts for personal projects.

Their Instagram page showcases an impressive gallery of things they’ve made over the years, including a Wolverine and Spiderman tribute. Boasting a 16.5k following, Elegoo products have also been featured in several magazines such as CNET and Space.com

If you can squeeze a 3D printer into your monthly budget, perhaps this brand can be in your top 10 list of contenders.

Stay tuned, as my Elegoo review will take an in-depth look at the company, its products, customer ratings, promotions, and more to help you decide if their machines are worth the investment.

Overview Of Elegoo

Elegoo Review

You can say that founder Chris Hong is especially excited about the future of science.

So much so that in 2015 he established his own 3D printer company in Shenzhen, China. He was partially inspired by his former background in STEM, as he wanted to expose young creators and developers to modern-day solutions.

Offered at a competitive price, Elegoo printers are considered a semi-accessible way to get started with STEM. They’re offered in several reputable retailers, including Amazon and AliExpress.

Before I get this Elegoo review started, I thought it best to go over some initial highlights.

Highlights

Elegoo Review
  • A curated selection of 3D printers and accessories to choose from
  • Positive customer reviews
  • Offers pre-owned machines as a more affordable option
  • Provides step-by-step tutorials through the Elegoo Arduino Learning Kits
  • Free shipping on orders over $100

Like the revolutionary invention of the Gutenberg printing press, 3D printing opens up a world of possibilities.

It definitely gives a different meaning to reproducing images, as users don’t have to settle for 2D illustrations. Why opt for a flat, papercut model of Superman when you can make your own toy replica?

If you’re new to the world of 3D printing, you can relax knowing that Elegoo offers step-by-step tutorials on their website.

Customers can find a broad assortment of machines to choose from, including the Mars 3 Pro and the Saturn LCD. Below in this Elegoo review, I will spotlight a few of their best-selling models that are sure to spur some creativity.

Elegoo Saturn Review

If you consider yourself an experienced DIY-er, the Elegoo Saturn 3D printer will definitely ignite some deep-seated creativity. This bad-boy can build toys, miniatures, and various forms of art made out of LCD resin.

Offered with a faster printing speed, you can easily whip up new projects on the daily. Plus, it’s engineered with higher precision and a larger creator volume to ensure pinpoint accuracy.

Compatible with the Chitubox Slicer Upgraded Smarter program, users can easily create prototypes using its multiple features.

It’s also worth mentioning that this device comes with paired accessories such as gloves and a plastic scraper. Price-wise, the Saturn 3D printer retails for $360 instead of its $480 markup.

Elegoo Mars 3 Review

When I look at the Mars 3 3D printer, all I can think of is endless gift ideas. Long gone are the days of sifting through present after present, as this bad boy enables you to transform ideas into tangible items.

Offered as a Mono LCD model, the Elegoo Mars 3 model is engineered with 30% improvement compared to its older prototype. It also works quietly and efficiently, so you don’t have to subject yourself to annoying machine whirrs.

Designed with 4K HD resolution and a 37% higher build volume, this printer can tackle any big project you have in mind. Compatible with the Chitubox Pro Slicing Software, the $320 Mars 3 is currently on sale for $260

Elegoo Mars Review

The average price for a 3D printer on Amazon is somewhere around $200. If it’s still too pricey for your liking, the Elegoo Mars model is considered a more affordable alternative.

Don’t mistake its price for cheap construction, as this device is built with UV photocuring LCD, 2K HD, and a convenient touch screen.

Sturdy, reliable, and great for those who want to get started with 3D printing, the Elegoo Mars printer retails for $135 instead of its initial price tag of $150. Unfortunately, all models are sold out in the US, but they are still available in the UK.

Elegoo Jupiter Review

Those experienced with 3D printing are probably in need of an upgrade. The Elegoo Jupiter is considered one of the brand’s fancier models, as it offers a 6k resolution, a multi-language UI interface, and a mini air purifier to ensure no accumulation of toxins.

Designed to tackle larger projects, it’s considered a great machine for creators who run a side hustle.

Currently, the Elegoo Jupiter 3D printer can be pre-ordered for $1,300 for September. Unfortunately, the company is quite behind in production, so you should expect a delayed delivery.

Who Is Elegoo For?

Elegoo Review

As a semi-experienced DIY-er, I’m often in search of parts that don’t exist. Ideas are often scrapped for more realistic solutions—and as a result, it’s missing that quintessential spark.

If you want to transform your pencil sketch into a tangible object without sacrifice, an Elegoo 3D printer can help turn your dreams into a reality.

Obviously, tinkering with a 3D printer requires a bit of skill and know-how. Elegoo does offer tutorials on its website, which is great for those who are just getting started.

Elegoo Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Elegoo Review

3D printing is considered an expensive DIY subcategory. With that in mind, it’s imperative for curious customers to conduct their own research before committing to checkout.

For this Elegoo review, I scoured through the internet to see what buyers are saying about the brand, and it’s relatively positive.

Unfortunately, there are no comments posted on the brand’s official page, but this Elegoo review did find multiple comments on Amazon. This includes bestsellers such as:

  • The Saturn MSLA 3D Printer: 154 reviews with 4.6/5 stars
  • The Mars 3 Resin 3D Printer: 611 reviews with 4.5/5 stars
  • The 3D Printer Standard Resin: 622 reviews with 4.5/5 stars
  • The ABS-Like 3D Printer Rapid Resin: 448 reviews with 4.4/5 stars

Exceptional in performance, creators and STEM enthusiasts alike are giving two thumbs up for Elegoo 3D printers. Customers are quick to post their personal projects, which showcase an impressive amount of detail.

This is a fantastic machine all around. Great print quality, fairly easy to use for beginners and is quite consistent. On top of that, the customer service is second to none,” one customer wrote for the Saturn MSLA 3D Printer

“Wow! This printer is my first step into 3D printing and is it ever easy to use! Simple setup and great design. The calibration model that came on the usb key came out perfectly,” one reviewer detailed for the Mars 3 Resin 3D Printer

For in-depth critiques, this Elegaoo review looked toward blog sites such as Tom’s Hardware and All3DP.

Both authors commended the precision and resolution that their printers provided. They also reported that Elegoo machines were very user-friendly.

“The Mars user interface is easy to use and the overall printing process is really simple. This is a great introductory machine for resin printing newbies,” via a statement made by Tom’s Hardware.

“The Mars 3 offers much more than just high resolution. Elegoo has refined (almost) all the best parts of its previous iterations into its best design yet while preserving the same workhorse personality we’ve always cherished. It just works; no fuss about it,” according to a post made by All3DP.

Before you prep for a $300 deduction from your checking account, this Elegoo review thought it necessary to go over some negative feedback first.

You can take care knowing that the amount of bad press is quite small, but it’s important to share in order to paint the full picture.

Is Elegoo Legit?

Elegoo Review

As previously mentioned, 3D printing requires a bit of tweaking and tinkering to get used to. With that in mind, it’s not uncommon for customers to run into some technical issues.

Others shared experiences with defective products and flimsy components. In a few instances, creators reported that the resin was quite messy to deal with.

Despite all of this, after reading Elegoo reviews from customers I can confidently say that this is a completely legitimate company to support

Is Elegoo Worth It?

Elegoo Review

3D printing is a widely interesting hobby to get into. That said, it’s a lifelong investment that requires some forethought.

While Elegoo claims that they offer more affordable options, spending $150+ on a machine still entails some major considerations. If you consider yourself an avid DIY or a follower of STEM, it’s probably not a bad idea to purchase a 3D printer.

Impressive in accuracy, precision, and overall performance, I’m happy to conclude this Elegoo review by recommending that you give this brand a try.
