Gemvara Review

Popping the question can be a nerve-wracking experience. So many things can race through your head as the big moment approaches, and the ring is a significant part of those anxieties. There are so many options, but which company sets itself apart?

Gemvara’s fine jewelry might help put your mind at ease. Every piece is custom-made and unique to the wearer, giving each gorgeous piece its own story. The brand has gained some attention with this model, with features in Glamour and the Wall Street Journal and 8.3k Instagram followers.

Are you searching for a one-of-a-kind jewelry piece? My Gemvara review can help you out, as I’ll take a look at the company’s origins, best-sellers, policies, and more so you can decide if they’re worth buying.

Overview of Gemvara

Gemvara Review

Matt Lauzon was studying at Babson College when he launched Paragon Lake, a business-to-business company offering customization services to jewelry retailers.

Lauzon realized that the “inventory-centric way wasn’t what he wanted. So, he challenged his partners to push the boundary of traditional fine jewelry distribution.

After collaborating with retailers, Lauzon wanted to have more control over the logistics and moved to make an online store for the company. So, in February 2010, Gemvara was born with a mission to “change the way you shop for fine jewelry.”

Customers can customize all of the company’s pieces to create a unique meaning for each bearer and wearer.

The Boston-based jewelers handcraft each piece to order, and all items that leave the HQ are thoroughly vetted. The Gemological Institute of America also accredits Gemvara’s consultants, so customers are reassured that they’re in good hands when choosing a set and planning proposals.

With that bit of brand knowledge, I’ll kick off this Gemvara review with some highlights:

Highlights

  • The company handcrafts all jewelry, resulting in unique pieces for each customer
  • Jewelry for weddings, engagements, gifts, and more
  • Offers lab-grown and mined gemstones
  • Financing options are available with Affirm
  • Free shipping on all orders
  • 45-day return policy

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. But, a couple of stunning stones could also qualify for the title. Gemvara offers various lab-grown and mined stones to put a sparkle in your partner’s eye. So, keep reading this Gemvara review to learn more about the popular ring settings.

Gemvara Jewelry Review

The Gemvara jewelry is ornate, regal, and plain beautiful. Our eyes are watering just thinking about the reaction to any of these pieces. So, let’s get started.

Gemvara Heart Cut Rose Quartz Review

The Heart Cut Rose Quartz ring is a vision in pink, with the rose quartz stone stealing the show. The pale pink flush is subtle but doesn’t take away from its elegance. It’s set in the brand’s Serena Ring, which features a dainty rose gold and palladium band.

The band also features accents stones, including a bright pink sapphire and moissanite. These details add extra sparkle that’ll make anyone tear up. It’s also an excellent ring to wear every day and will blend well with any other rings in your collection.

Unfortunately, the Heart Cut Rose Quartz ring is unavailable at the time of this Gemvara review.

Gemvara Princess Cut Rhodolite Garnet Review

This next piece will help your partner feel like royalty. The Princess Cut Rhodolite Garnet ring features a deep raspberry rhodolite set with two diamonds on either side. The gorgeous gem is set in the Contessa Ring, showcasing its beauty and simplicity.

The silver band is made from palladium metal and gives the rhodolite stone a chance to shine. It’s another great everyday piece, so your partner will swoon once you put a ring on it. The two diamonds also add a sophisticated touch that anyone will love.

The Princess Cut Rhodolite Garnet is unavailable at the time of this review.

Gemvara Princess Cut Peridot Review

The Princess Cut Peridot setting puts a twist on the traditional band. While the peridot stone is otherworldly with its lime green finish and meteor origins, the Daniela Ring band is intertwined, creating a braided effect around it and the three accent diamonds.

The bright sparkly peridot is made to impress with the 14k white gold band and yellow gold setting. The mixture of the two creates a showstopping look, adding some flair to your proposal plans. I’d get ready to hear some squealing once you open that box.

The Princess Cut Peridot ring will run you $945

Gemvara Marquise Cut Lab-Created Ruby Review

Lab-created stones can offer you the same sparkle at more affordable prices. That rings true with the last item in this Gemvara review. The Marquise Cut Lab-Created Ruby is bold and beautiful, set on its own in 14k yellow gold.

The marquise cut is eye-catching and rare. And with a deep red ruby, it evokes a sense of adventure and excitement. This lab-created ruby is indistinguishable from the real thing, and the Esme Ring’s entwined bands create a focal point for the red gem.

Add the Marquise Cut Lab-Created Ruby ring to your cart for $605

Who Is Gemvara For?

Gemvara Review

Gemvara is for any adult looking for beautiful unique rings for any occasion, from an engagement ring to a birthday gift. The brand also offers custom jewelry, which allows consumers to create pieces that are entirely their own.

In addition, prices are reasonable compared to traditional jewelers, but you could always opt for payment plans or Gemvara coupons to bring that cost down even further.

Gemvara Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Gemvara Review

Of course, we can’t have a Gemvara review without looking at what customers said about this jeweler. So, I searched the web for testimonials to help you narrow down your jewelry options. Besides the company website, I found ratings on Facebook and the Better Business Bureau.

Here are some of the ratings for the featured products:

  • Heart Cut Rose Quartz: 5/5 stars from 3 ratings
  • Princess Cut Rhodolite Garnet: 5/5 stars from 1 rating
  • Princess Cut Peridot: 4.8/5 stars from 4 ratings

One customer purchased the Heart Cut Rose Quartz writing how it was perfect: “I wanted a “right-hand ring” with a rose gold/pink sapphire/diamond combination for MANY years. When I was finally able to afford it, I didn’t hesitate and I could not be happier with it.”

Another reviewer purchased the same ring setting as the Princess Cut Peridot and said: “I personalized this ring for my now fiancée to ask her to marry me. When she saw it, she just about cried. Engraving is small, but still, that’s not even a minor blemish on such a beautiful piece.”

Gemvara Review

I also found favorable Gemvara reviews on Facebook and the Better Business Bureau about the brand as a whole. Here are the overall ratings from both websites:

  • Facebook: 3.6/5 stars from 23 reviews
  • BBB: 3.75/5 stars from 16 reviews (A+ BBB Rating)

One Facebook user wrote: “My boyfriend purchased the Serena Ring for our engagement. It was awesome to sit side by side and design the ring together. My ring came out perfectly, besides being a bit too big on my finger. I got a ring spacer for now, but planning on getting it resized later. It received so many positive comments when we went out to celebrate.”

Better Business Bureau reviewers also raved about the brand: “My husband got my engagement ring from Gemvara several years ago, and it was amazing. This year we decided to upgrade our wedding bands. My new wedding band is better than I ever could have imagined. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for custom jewelry.”

There’s no doubting that people appreciate Gemvara’s jewelry quality and service. But, there are mixed reactions, with customers noting unresponsive customer service and some quality issues. Luckily, customer service reps reply to these complaints on both external sites I looked at with potential solutions and contact information.

Is Gemvara Legit?

Gemvara Review

Gemvara looks legit. The company has been around long enough to learn the ropes, and the customer reception is pretty positive overall. A few reviews raised a few alarms, but it’s reassuring to know that the company replies to these complaints promptly.

Is Gemvara Worth It?

Gemvara Review

Proposing is anxiety-inducing, but it’s music to anyone’s ears when they hear a yes. The ring is an integral part of this life-changing event, and Gemvara wants to help you celebrate by being part of a unique look and story.

I think the brand is worth checking out based on this Gemvara review. If you have the means, designing an engagement ring with your partner’s style in mind will make the big moment even more special. Plus, the company’s online model is a bit more affordable than traditional custom jewelry.
