Overview of HomeAdvisor

HomeAdvisor Review

In terms of company history, there’s not much to know about the workings behind HomeAdvisor. Formally known as ServiceMagic, they began operations around 1999.

They were acquired by Angi HomeServices in the later years and are currently run by CEO Jeffrey W Kip.

Now located in Denver, Colorado, Home Advisor continues to be a top pick for thousands of customers. It’s a digital marketplace that links homeowners and professional contractors together to make the perfect dream team

Before I jump ahead in my HomeAdvisor review, let’s go over some brand highlights.

That said, I totally understand if you have doubts about HomeAdvisor. Given its simplistic outlook, it might come with some healthy skepticism. How easy can it truly be? As a way to answer some common questions, I’ll provide a brief rundown on what the program entails next in my HomeAdvisor review.

HomeAdvisor HomeServices Review

There’s no need to flip through a yellowed-out phone book. HomeAdvisor allows customers to narrow down their search related to their needs, which can range from roof installation to lawn upkeep and everything in between.

Once you’ve settled on a specific job, HomeAdvisor will ask some important questions related to your requirements. It’s worth mentioning that you’ll need to create an online profile to continue with this process. Afterward, they will provide you with recommendations to ensure the perfect fit.

Clients will be given four assigned professionals that are proven adequate for the job. Once the decision is made, the company will send the respective information to the contractor. It’s now a confidential matter between you and your chosen expert to discuss your project.

In terms of price, customers can easily compare costs by viewing previous jobs that clients have made in the past.

HomeAdvisor Pro Review

HomeAdvisor Review

Whether you’re a small business firm or an established entrepreneur, it’s important to let potential customers know that your company exists. If you’re looking to gain some exposure, HomeAdvisor Pro offers a program intended for brand owners.

To join the program, you’ll need to set up an account online. Once completed, your profile and portfolio will be viewable to any potential customers perusing the website.

It’s worth mentioning that HomeAdvisor offers leads to contractors. Any potential jobs will incur a small fee, which varies based on location and project type. If you’re curious about what this program entails, I highly recommend contacting the brand itself for any questions outside of my HomeAdvisor review.

Who Is HomeAdvisor For?

HomeAdvisor Review

Contrary to popular belief, it takes a village to make a house a home. There are several factors to consider such as furnishings, plumbing, floor installation, and lawn care. I think it’s safe to assume that we aren’t experts in these established fields, which is why services like HomeAdvisor exist.

Convenient and easy to use, this program matches professionals with homeowners to ensure an adequate and thorough job. It’s a time-effective alternative if you don’t want to spend hours researching potential businesses online on your own.

HomeAdvisor Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

HomeAdvisor Review

Given its user-friendly interface, I’m not surprised that HomeAdvisor is the top pick for many homeowners. Don’t believe me? The internet is full of positive HomeAdvisor reviews on websites such as Sitejabber, Consumer Affairs, and Trustpilot. Here’s how the service stacked up:

  • Sitejabber: 7,989 reviews with 4.3/5 stars
  • Consumer Affairs: 314 reviews with 4.5/5 stars
  • Trustpilot: 22.2k reviews with 4/5 stars

The reviews for HomeAdvisor are quite different compared to product testimonials you’d see posted for more traditional brands. Customers are quick to share stories about their projects and how well their contractors responded to their needs.

From basic repairs to staircase installation, buyers seem to be happy with the professionals they hired. With experts that are skilled, friendly, communicative, and efficient, it seems that Home Advisor is the gold standard in rounding up experts.

I recently had a modular home repainted on the outside at the Lakes of Melbourne Fl Community. By M&K Custom Painting and I was amazed! At the professional work they did. The home looked brand new! The husband and wife team was so pleasant to work with,” one customer wrote on Sitejabber.

“Great experience. HomeAdvisor is easy to use. They provided two highly qualified vendors. Selecting a responsive mason was easy and cost-effective. We got a great deal,” one Trustpilot user detailed.

Magazines and blog sites, such as Clark.com, also left a fair critique of HomeAdvisor. The author there concluded that it was a quick and easy way for homeowners to look for professionals without conducting much research:

“Overall, I think HomeAdvisor is a good resource if you’re looking for a contractor or service provider for home improvement, maintenance, or repair. It lets you connect quickly with pre-screened professionals and compare local businesses.”

So, can I adequately conclude that HomeAdvisor is a reputable service to support? Considering the vast amount of positive feedback, I think it passes the legitimacy test. That said, I did uncover some negative comments about the brand. To add to my HomeAdvisor review, I’ll discuss some red flags to keep in mind up next.

HomeAdvisor Happiness Guarantee

HomeAdvisor Review

Doubt is inevitable when it comes to supporting a new service. To act as a safety net, HomeAdvisor offers a Happiness Guarantee for customers to fall back on. The company promises to cover entire projects as well as provide limited damage protection.

This is only up to $2,500 for “pre-priced services under the Fixed Price Terms and $50,000 for all other qualifying services.” If you’re unhappy with the final result of your project, the company encourages you to reach out to them for further information.

Is HomeAdvisor Worth It?

HomeAdvisor Review

HomeAdvisor is a great service to consider if your plate is already filled with other pressing issues and errands. Researching potential brands and contractors is only half the battle, as it’s imperative to work out the details of your project before any handiwork begins.

If you’re looking to simplify and shorten this process, HomeAdvisor does most of the job for you.

User-friendly, easy to navigate, and comprehensive in terms of available services and workers, I can confidently recommend this service.
