About Sitka

Sitka Review

In retrospect, you can interpret Sitka phonetically, and you’d still be correct about it. It’s “sick, cuh.”

Meant for outdoor enthusiasts, this clothing brand offers tactical gear, hunting equipment, and other wilderness-related paraphernalia on its website. All of the company’s products are constructed out of high-quality materials, so you know that they’re legit.

It appears that Sitka is considered a top choice among hunters, trappers, and chasers, as the brand’s Instagram page boasts over 620k followers. They’re also featured in several media outlets, including GearJunkie, Field & Stream, and Outdoor Life.

Like hunting, shopping for new gear always entails a 50/50 chance of quality versus quantity. With that in mind, does this brand pass the vibe check?

Keep reading, as in this Sitka review, I’ll provide an in-depth look at the company, its products, customer ratings, promotions, and more to help you decide if they’re worth checking out.

Hiking up a muddy trail wearing canvas sneakers and streetwear clothes is not ideal. There’s a reason why experienced adventurers opt for function over fashion. Unfortunately, founder Jonathan Hart came to that realization beforehand, as he was forced to traverse through mother nature in sweaty, wet, and cold clothes.

Annoyance turned into frustration, but soon, it transformed into a viable business idea. If anything, you can say that Sitka was born literally out of blood, sweat, and tears.

In 2005, Sitka made its official debut in Bozeman, Montana. The brand is committed to providing its customers with high-quality outdoor apparel

Designed to withstand extreme weather conditions and normal wear and tear, nature enthusiasts can take care knowing that comfort won’t be a concern when it comes to hunting or hiking.

Before I continue further in this Sitka review, let’s go over some initial highlights.

Highlights

Sitka Review
  • A wide selection of tactical gear and outdoor apparel to choose from
  • Offers a repair service for their clothes
  • Provides a system builder (for layering) on the brand’s website
  • Positive customer reviews

“Being one with nature” can be interpreted as a philosophical statement, but when it comes to hunting, professionals prefer to take it seriously. To successfully gain a tactical advantage, you need to be as still as the forest. Wearing high-quality camo can definitely help, as it works wonders in disguising you from potential hits.

If you’d rather reserve your Patagonia sweater and North Face jacket for casual hikes, Sitka can serve as an excellent stand-in when you want to put your survival skills to the test.

This online brand carries an impressive assortment of premium goods, ranging from jackets, tops, bottoms, and accessories

Moving forward, I’ll feature some of their best-sellers worth considering next in this Sitka review.

Sitka Products Review

You can take care knowing that Sitka doesn’t do regular ol’ shades of green and beige. When it comes to professional camouflage, this brand opts for realism in place of caricature.

For those in the market for high-quality tactical gear, I’ll highlight some of their top sellers within this Sitka review.

Sitka Kelvin Lite Down Jacket

The Kelvin Lite Down Jacket isn’t like any other autumn puffer. This coat is made for the big leagues, as it’s packed with 900-fill Primaloft Gold insulation to ensure full-coverage warmth.

Built with pockets, a sturdy hood, and a two-way stretch nylon face, this Sitka bestseller is basically a wearable sleeping bag. Plus, it’s engineered to withstand strong winds

Available in two types of camo, the $359 Kelvin Lite Down Jacket also comes in black, navy blue, grey, and brown. Ideally paired with a matching set of pants, this should definitely be on your checklist for your next expedition.

What customers are saying: “Jacket fits great, comes down nice on the lower back. Works great with the dew point jacket, on cooler wet days.” – Doug R., Sitkagear.com

Sitka Mountain Pant

Camouflage usually requires head-to-toe coverage. Case in point, it seems counterintuitive to wear bright orange pants if you’re stalking deer.

The Sitka Mountain Pant can serve as an excellent alternative when hunting, as these trousers are designed to blend in with the foliage. It’s constructed out of 4-way stretch woven polyester, which is also water repellent in case of spontaneous rain storms.

Built with removable knee pads to ensure extra comfort, these trousers definitely work to your advantage. I highly recommend wearing a pair of sturdy rain boots in case you’re heading downstream.

Price-wise, the Mountain Pant retails for $209

What customers are saying: “2 year review. Perfect for everything. I use these for early season with no layers underneath and they are very comfortable on the skin. I also use these with various layers and stay warm later in the season. They fit me perfectly.” – Alex, Sitkagear.com

Sitka Fanatic Hoody

Sweat, rain, and mud are only a few examples of the physical turmoils of the outback. With that in mind, it’s best to opt for high-performance clothing to help minimize any discomfort.

The Fanatic Hoody by Sitka is certainly an upgrade from any fast-fashion zip-up you can find at the mall. It’s made out of heavyweight stretch fleece and quick-dry mesh to ensure no ‘swampy areas.’

In terms of additional features, this coat also comes with Polygiene odor control technology, a built-in face mask, and flip-over hand mitts in case you forget your knitted ones at home.

This Sitka Hoodie costs a cool $199 at checkout.

What customers are saying: “Love this piece, it’s the one piece I can wear literally every time I go hunting, regardless of weather, works great early as an outer and great late as a layering piece.” Jaden Domeier, Sitkagear.com

Sitka Fanatic Bib

I’m well aware that the word ‘bib’ doesn’t trigger the best connotations. That said, the Fanatic Bib by Sitka is undoubtedly impressive in design. These overalls are meant for hunting expeditions, as they feature sound-suppressing fabric

Lined with GORE-TEX Infinium and PrimaLoft Silver Hi-Loft Ultra Insulation, this bad-boy also comes with Windstopper technology to help block out unwanted breezes.

Offered with deep pockets, silent snaps, and burr-resistant textiles to ensure no sticky foliage, the Fanatic Bib retails for $469 in total.

What customers are saying: “Hunted all of my life and I have never wore anything this warm. Base layers and a pair of pants under them kept me warm in 24 degree weather sitting in a tree stand.” – Kevin Smith, Sitkagear.com

Sitka Delta Zip Wader

The Fanatic Bib is no doubt one of the best overalls for nature expeditions. That said, the Delta Zip Wader surpasses it by a long shot.

Tailored for swampy conditions, these waterproof overalls come with Lacrosse insulated boots, a moisture-resistant AQUASEAL zipper for easy access, and handwarmer pockets to help eliminate any instances of hypothermia. It also features no-buckle suspension for added convenience.

Complete with reinforced knee and shin pads, the Delta Zip Wader can be all yours for $999

What customers are saying: “From the duck woods, to the rice fields and the crappie hole in the spring time these waders are awesome.” – Robert Turner, Sitkagear.com

Sitka Sun Hat

This isn’t your grandmother’s gardening cap. The Sitka Sun Hat is engineered to block sun glare to help you stay focused.

Featuring a dark underbrim that works to refract light, this accessory is also built with CORDURA nylon fabric to help prevent accumulated sweat and rain. If that wasn’t already enough, it comes with integrated insulation for additional warmth.

Offered in camo, the Sitka Sun Hat retails for $49

What customers are saying: “Love the venting – what a difference it makes. Another quality product from Sitka.” – Bob, Sitkagear.com

Who Is Sitka For?

Sitka Review

I’ll be totally blunt; Sitka is an expensive brand. Most of their products retail upwards from $100, which is definitely not the most affordable choice if you’re new to hunting.

Given the durability and quality of their tactical gear, I think it’s safe to say that Sitka is meant for professional chasers and trappers.

Sitka Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Sitka Review

Sitka products are quite expensive. With that in mind, it’s best to conduct some research before you purchase their gear.

Thankfully, it seems that customers are pretty satisfied with the quality of their equipment. I’ll be sure to feature some of the ratings for the brand’s bestsellers next in this Sitka review:

  • The Fanatic Hoody: 63 reviews with 4.5/5 stars
  • The Delta Zip Wader: 79 reviews with 4.5/5 stars

According to professional hunters, Sitka tactical gear definitely passes the quality control test. The brand’s bibs, jackets, and pants managed to survive in rainstorms and mud. Others were happy with the amount of warmth and comfort offered in their apparel.

“You simply cannot beat this piece of hunting gear, I’m in southern Illinois where it’s 59 degrees one day and 21 degrees the next. This hoodie is perfect for layering or stand alone. A lot of thought went into this piece for sure,” one Sitka reviewer shared for the Fanatic Hoody

“Expensive but worth it. It is definitely a investment tried it in ohio duck hunting in a marsh. Fit was perfect I am 5’10 190 pounds. I ordered a size 11 boot with large top and it fits perfectly,” one customer wrote for the Delta Zip Wader

Independent blogs, such as PewPewTactical, All-About-Moose, and the Deer Hunting Guide, all gave favorable reviews towards Sitka apparel. All three authors concluded that it was certainly worth the investment.

Sitka’s line is serious gear designed for serious hunters. If you spend most of your time from September through early January in the woods, you should look to Sitka for your hunting gear needs,” via a statement made by PewPewTactical.

Aside from price and a few instances of damaged apparel, I didn’t find many complaints concerning Sitka products. This brand is definitely worth considering if you require an upgrade on tactical gear.

Is Sitka Worth It?

Sitka Review

As previously mentioned, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend purchasing Sitka gear if you’re new at hunting. This online brand is catered to experienced professionals, as most of their equipment is decked out with high-performance fabrics and add-ons.

Sitka is considered a great option for experts in need of reliable apparel. There’s no need to worry about low-quality, faulty clothing here.

Professionally made and commendable in versatility, I can confidently recommend this brand in this Sitka review.
