About ZeroUV

ZeroUV Sunglasses Review

ZeroUV has been showcased by numerous media outlets including Life&Style, Bazaar, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, and Fox Business. The US-based fashion eyewear company offers a ton of inexpensive sunglasses and glasses for men, women, and children. The brand caters to a wide range of style preferences including modern, retro, vintage, and futuristic. This zeroUV sunglasses review will give you a detailed look at the brand and its products so that you can approach your purchase with confidence.

Overview of ZeroUV

ZeroUV identifies itself as a curated eyewear boutique for fashion savvy individuals. The brand was founded back in 2001, led by eyewear enthusiasts who grew up during the California indie movement. For those who have only a vague idea of this cultural movement, I’ll give you the rundown.

Indie fashion in the United States was born out of the emergence of Indie rock in the 80’s and 90’s. Think Nirvana, Sonic Youth, The Strokes, and The Magnetic Fields. Cali has always been fashion forward, and the indie movement brought about eclectic styles with an independent mindset. ZeroUV expresses the essence of the trend, designing eyewear to inspire others to express their true selves. Retro and vintage styles also tend to be associated with indie and zeroUV has hundreds of glasses and shades to fit those vibes.

Sunglasses and glasses are a fashion staple, and ZeroUV knows all about how they can take an ensemble to the next level. All the more reason to have a collection of them. ZeroUV provides customers with trendy pieces at a fraction of retail prices, so you can do just that. Their eyewear conveniently ranges in price from $10.95 to $20

I’m guilty of losing my shades often. Mostly in the ocean, but other times in that weird abyss where misplaced items go. So zeroUV prices are definitely appealing, but do they hold up with everyday wear? We’ll get into that later on in this zeroUV sunglasses review.

ZeroUV isn’t only focused on appearances. Another priority is contained within their name— their UV glasses and sunglasses offer full eye protection against harmful UVA & UVB rays. It’s not uncommon for less expensive brands to skimp on eye protection, so this is key. Even with UV protected shades though, your eyes are not invincible—remember not to stare up at eclipses (we feel it’s our do diligence to mention this).

@zerouv

ZeroUV sunglasses are either made of metal, plastic, bamboo, or wood, or a mix of both. The brand carries prescription pairs, tinted and polarized sunglasses to block out glare, clear sunglasses, and more specialized options.

Our zeroUV sunglasses review found that virtually every model is designed with versions for women and men—that’s a bonus in my books, since it’s unbelievably frustrating to fall in love with a pair of shades, only to realize they’re made to fit the face size/shape of the opposite sex.

ZeroUV sells hundreds of eyewear models, so there’s no way we can get to all of them. This zeroUV sunglasses review takes a look at their trending models and frames, popular with fashion gurus and regular people alike.

ZeroUV Aviator Sunglasses

Aviators never go out of favor, so they’re a go-to if you’re looking for shades that won’t fade out with the times. The Original Classic Metal Military Aviator Sunglasses have the iconic style while keeping things basic. They’re designed with a metal frame, classic metal hinges, and English style nose pieces, UV protected with G15 polycarbonate lenses. This model comes in Gold Green and Gunmetal Green for $10.95.

If you’re leaning toward something a little less traditional, the Retro Modern Rimless Aviator Sunglasses are minimal and suave. They have a rimless frame with ultra-slim metal temples and brow bar, plus gradient flat lenses and rivets at the front give them a certain boldness. These shades contain a metal based frame, English style nose pieces, and metal hinges with polycarbonate UV400 lenses. Available in Shiny Silver Lavender, this model is priced at $10.95.

The Futuristic Space Shield Metal One Piece Aviator Sunglasses are for the truly daring. They feature a semi-rimless shield, with a look of Miami Beach meets interplanetary escapade. These sunglasses have a sleek ventilated silicon nose bridge for extra comfort and a metal finished frame with UV400 lenses. You can go with gold or silver frames with regular lenses, or mirror lenses with pink/black and red/black frames for $12.95

ZeroUV Vintage Sunglasses

Wearing shades from another era is a solid way to compliment an outfit, so vintage glasses frames are here to stay. Most of us recognize cat eye glasses as a 50’s and 60’s trend epitomized by Audrey Hepburn. ZeroUV Womens Fashion Hot Tip Pointed Vintage Cat Eye Sunglasses are inspired by those years, able to work with outfits from ultra modern to classic vintage.

These cat eyes are designed using an acetate based frame, metal hinges and gradient polycarbonate UV protected lenses. You’ve got lots of color choices with these shades including black, white, creme, light pink, dark tortoise, and light tortoise for $10.95.

These Vintage Dapper Steampunk Horned Rim Sunglasses definitely caught my attention. Horned rim glasses can look a tad nerdy, in general, but the edginess of the design destroys that conception. They feature a reinforced full metal backing, studded nose bridge, with a mixed medium clip on frame. The clip on element is really subtle, as the mechanism is hidden beneath metal accents.

This steampunk-inspired pair contains a plastic and metal based frame, metal hinges, and color mirrored UV400 protected lenses. These sunglasses are available in Shiny Tortoise Gold Brown, Shiny Tortoise Gold Green, and Matte Black Gold Green for $10.95.

The Vintage Inspired Key Hole Round Spectacles P3 Sunglasses sound old-timey, but their appearance is adapted for modernity. These uh… spectacles have metal shaped rivets on the temples and a key hole nose bridge, offering a classic and minimalist look. They have an acetate based frame, metal hinges, and polycarbonate UV protected lenses. This model is available in Tortoise Amber and Black Smoke for $10.95.

ZeroUV Retro Sunglasses

Retro shades are another way to celebrate fashion of days past—more recent history, that is. Whether it’s Millenial or Gen X nostalgia, or the newer generation admiring styles of another time. The Ultra-Slim Metal Hexagon Geometric Sunglasses are a stellar hybrid of round and square shapes. They’ll add an edgy flair to your face without the need for loud colors or flashy accents.

These hexagonal shades have a lightweight frame, with flat lenses and a straight nose bridge for a modernist feel. They’re designed using a metal based frame, adjustable English style nose pieces, metal hinges, and 100% UV protected lenses. This model comes in Gold/Smoke, Silver/Smoke, Black/Smoke, and Gold/Green for $10.99.

You’ve definitely seen pairs like these Small 1990’s Retro Color Tone Metal Oval Sunglasses on celebrities and social media. These 90’s flashback shades come with tinted red, orange, yellow, or light pink UV protected lenses, so the bold look is non negotiable. They feature a sleek, full metal design and adjustable English style nose pieces for $10.95. The red and orange lens versions come with a black frame, while the other colors are fitted with a gold frame.

The topselling Retro Hippie Metal Lennon Round Color Lens Sunglasses are inspired by the Beatles legend, peace & love that defined the 60s. The zeroUV blue tinted sunglasses contain a metal based frame, metal hinges, and a polycarbonate lens (one of the rare models that is not UV protected). These hippie shades also come in Gunmetal Smoke and Gold Brown, priced at $10.95.

ZeroUV Novelty Sunglasses

Novelty shades are the kind you wear to costume parties, themed events, NYE, or whenever you feel like turning heads. The Retro Modern Blade Cut Shield Sports Sunglasses demand attention with their cool icy tint, with flat lenses accentuated by full metal temple arms. Specifically designed using reinforced metal hinges and 100% UVA UVB protection, they’re not just for show and can handle exercise. This model comes in blue, yellow, red, and pink for $12.95

The Novelty 8 Bit Laser Cut Heart Shape Mirrored Flat Lens Sunglasses must have come straight out of an EDM festival. These steampunk inspired zeroUV pink sunglasses are finished with rivet accents and a double nose bridge for a cute yet edgy statement.

They feature a rimless metal based frame, adjustable English style nose pieces, metal hinges, and 100% UV protected lenses. This romantic model comes in Gold Pink Mirror, Gold Magenta Mirror, Gunmetal Magenta Mirror, Black Silver Mirror, and Silver Blue Mirror for $12.95.

If you ever wished there was a cooler version of 3D movie theater glasses, your prayers have been answered. The trending Retro 1990’s Transparent Frosted Color Movie Sunglasses are tastefully crazy, and there’s a 100% chance you’ll be noticed wearing them. These shades are designed with color frosted frames and matching color tone lenses in red, purple, brown, yellow, or pink. Every pair boasts 100% UVA and UVB protection, priced at $10.95.

ZeroUv Kids

ZeroUV knows you can be challenging to find fashionable sunglasses for kids. They offer lots of shades for children, and many of them are mini-versions of their adult styles. Their line is perfect if you’re up for a cute parent-child matching look. ZeroUV children’s sunglasses are all built with 100% UV400, UVA and UVB, so you know your little ones will be safe from the sun (their eyes will, anyway).

ZeroUV Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

ZeroUV Sunglasses Review
@zerouv

Customers give zeroUV shades near perfect ratings on the company website, but this zeroUV sunglasses review digs deeper than that. ZeroUV has 4.5/5 stars on Yelp, where customers raved about the “steal prices” and huge selection of aesthetic and trendy shades. Many were returning customers and deemed zeroUV their favorite affordable sunglasses brand.

There are thousands of positive zeroUV reviews on Amazon, with average ratings of 4/5 stars. The most common statement in a zeroUV review there was that the design and quality are surprisingly good for low-cost sunglasses. Sunglassesselection.com strongly recommends zeroUV sunglasses: “The quality of materials doesn’t match with expensive sunglasses. Still, the essential factor is that they give you full protection against UVA/B rays.”

Our Verdict on ZeroUV

ZeroUV Sunglasses Review
@zerouv

The seemingly endless positive feedback on zeroUV is very compelling. Of course the quality doesn’t compare to designer pairs, but that’s to be expected with such low prices. ZeroUV sunglasses actually hold up, while other budget brands will fall apart faster than you can say I got a new pair of shades

You don’t have much to lose if you try out zeroUV sunglasses ($20 at the most). Worst case scenario: you return them. Best case scenario: you find your new favorite pair of affordable sunglasses, maybe end up assembling a collection, and eventually becoming the most fashionable person in your crew. Oh, and no longer verging on a meltdown when you think you’ve lost your sunglasses. Some of us just can’t be trusted with designer shades—have the courage to admit it to yourself.

For this zeroUV sunglasses review, I scoured their website for deals. I searched high and low but couldn’t find a zeroUV promo code or zeroUV discount code.

You can sign up with your email address to be notified of specific promotions, plus, they have a Sale section on their site, where you can find clearance boxes containing 3 pairs of sunglasses each. These boxes are regularly priced at $32-$34, currently discounted to $19.99.
