Eyeconic Eyewear Review

The Eyeconic mission to help you find the perfect eyewear or contacts and care for the eyes behind them. With the company’s access to a network of over 38,000 doctors, Eyeconic intends to always look out for your eyes.

Eyeconic has a following of 47k on Facebook and has made headlines on Digital Commerce360, Chicago Business Journal, and PRNewswire. We want to know if they actually live up to all the buzz.

This Eyeconic eyewear review will take a look at the brand and their eyewear, customer ratings, promotions, the ordering process, and more, to help you decide if their glasses are worth the buy.

Overview of Eyeconic

Eyeconic Eyewear Review

Eyeconic was founded in 2011 by VSP, a vision care insurance provider. The Eyeconic VSP mission was to blend insurance, eye care professionals, and on-trend eyewear options to create an all-in-one service.

Customers can take advantage of a free Eyeconic adjustment for their frames, which go through a 25-point inspection by Eyeconic optometry team members.

The main advantage of buying from an insurance-backed eyewear company is their knowledge on the ins and outs of the eyecare world. Although there is no Eyeconic price match, the website offers a virtual try-on and helpful tools like ‘what’s my face shape’ and ‘how to choose lenses’.

This Eyeconic eyewear review will now highlight some initial pros and cons of the brand.

Eyeconic Eyewear Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Eyeconic Eyewear Review

This Eyeconic eyewear review scoped out feedback and ratings from customers on Trustpilot, Consumer’s Advocate, and the company website. We’ll go through comments on Eyeconic’s customer service, shipping, quality, lens treatments, and returns process.

Eyeconic testimonials on Trustpilot rate the brand at a low 3.7 stars from 496 reviews. Before we dive in, it’s important to note that the majority of negative reviews relate to long shipping times of over a month.

One 5-star review on Trustpilot noted that customer service “has been nothing but nice, and helpful,” and that she can’t believe there are so many negative reviews “just for the speed of service.” She ask other reviewers, “Do you want them to take their time and make sure it’s done right?” An excellent point!

Consumer’s Advocate gives Eyeconic 3.6 stars among 45 reviews. One level-headed 5-star review says, “They filled my prescription just as the doctor prescribed…they replaced [a damaged item] covered under their 1-year warranty.”  The same review speaks of their easy returns process, noting it can be done “right from the website.”

Most eyewear on the website is rated at or above 4/5 stars, amounting to hundreds of reviews. Happy customers on Eyeconic.com praise the website’s features, lens treatments, and purchasing process. Take this customer review:

“The no glare treatment on the lenses is excellent quality and my vision is wonderful in the prescription lenses.” Another satisfied buyer noted that purchasing “was an easy process. I received them quickly and couldn’t be happier with the quality.”

While most customers are pleased with their purchases, some reviews echoed earlier reports of long shipping times, in addition to not receiving paid-for add-ons. One Eyeconic website review reads: “The glasses took more than a month to get delivered…Eyeconic sent me lenses that do NOT turn dark when exposed to light although I paid extra for this.”

Is Eyeconic Eyewear Worth It?

Eyeconic Eyewear Review

According to customer reviews, when Eyeconic gets it right, they really do. Those who had great experiences with the brand speak of the high quality of the lenses and enhancement features. There are few reviews that speak of poor quality products. The majority of complaints come in the form of long wait times for customer service responses and shipping delays

It’s important for customer service to reply promptly to queries. But this Eyeconic eyewear review doesn’t believe the issue is a deal-breaker. Customers need to be aware of long shipping times before they order, which is why it’s important to read the fine print on the website. Eyeconic clearly states that shipping can take over 30 business days, depending on the option you choose.

This Eyeconic eyewear review thinks the brand offers a great variety of glasses and special add-ons, while enjoying that shipping and returns are free. Overall, we think Eyeconic eyewear is worth the buy.

Terrible Customer Service. Received email telling me lenses were not available due to a supply chain issue. I can live with that. The email demanded that I respond by EOD today or they would fulfil with Black frames. Uhm NO. I call to cancel. They tell me that since the order has gone to the lab (the same lab that doesn’t have my frames) that it would take 3 days to release my benefits so that I can re-order. The initial CSR was rude and condescending. The supervisor basically blamed the lab and said “We don’t control the release of benefits” IF I was allowed to simply choose another frame and let the order move forward, this wouldn’t be an issue. But, my only option is to choose the same frame in a different color. Here’s a tip, make sure the frame is in stock before you make the lenses. THEN, swapping out for a DIFFERENT in stock frame. Based on all of the other negative reviews, it looks like I dodged a bullet. There’s a reason why the same frame costs double at Vision Works. It’s called SERVICE. Eyeconic sucks.a

I wish there was an option for ZERO stars or a negative star rating. This company really does not care if you are happy or pissed off. Eyeconic sends you a pair of glasses, probably the ones you ordered but not the correct prescription. I spoke with an agent via chat, she gave me many auto-responses. The first was, “We’ve passed along your concerns to the appropriate department, and we really appreciate that you took the time to leave us some feedback.” This statement popped up right after I hit enter. AUTO! BOT! I never received any resolution to my issue, the wrong prescription. Ended up without glasses additional 6 weeks. Eyeconic does not care. Check around before your purchase and you will find that many people are not happy with Eyeconic.
