About Sunny Health & Fitness

Sunny Health & Fitness Spin Bike Review

Sunny Health & Fitness lends a helping hand when it comes to reaching your personal exercise goals. Known for its competitive pricing, this e-commerce brand sells a wide variety of workout machines, including bikes, ellipticals, treadmills, rowers, and more.

While it might seem like everyone except you manages to find time to hit the gym, don’t be fooled. About 67% of gym memberships go unused. This isn’t surprising, given that many people are busy with jobs, raising families, and trying to fit some self-care in too. Work in the commute to and from the gym plus the actual workout is often all too demanding.

What if you didn’t have to make time to trek to the gym? This is where Sunny Health & Fitness comes in: they can bring the gym to you.

Trainer’s Tip: We are huge fans of home gyms. Why? In order to make exercise a habit, one needs to make daily motion as easy and convenient as possible. Basically, make the price of admission low enough that you will actually succeed! Any habit you want to adopt should be made convenient, easy, and enjoyable. Make any habit you want to eliminate inconvenient, complicated, and less enjoyable. So, get the foods you don’t want to eat out of your house and bring the workout equipment you want to use into your home.

With a steady following of 17.5k on Instagram, Sunny Health & Fitness has been featured by Men’s Health, USA Today, PopSugar, and other notable media outlets.

Looking to run the extra mile? This exercise equipment brand might be for you. Stay tuned to my Sunny Health & Fitness review as I will take an in-depth look at the brand, its products, customer ratings, promotions, and more to help you decide if its equipment is worth the buy.

Overview of Sunny Health & Fitness

Sunny Health & Fitness Spin Bike Review

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, exercise is more important than ever. One study[1] found that the percentage of US adults dealing with anxiety and depression rose from 11% in June 2019 to a staggering 42% by December 2020. However, exercise[2] has been shown to help mitigate the symptoms of poor mental health. Participating in safe and healthy movements to keep our bodies and minds sharp is more important than ever as we stay in our homes.

Trainer’s Tip: starting and then maintaining a healthier lifestyle is challenging at the best of times, and our current normal is anything but the best of times. The problem is this: although our new normal has made “health” feel almost impossible, it has also made healthy living an absolute must—a non-negotiable. Not only does regular exercise support immune and cardiovascular health and assist in the management of depression and anxiety, but it also gives us something to control in this constantly changing world. Maintaining healthy habits like exercise and nutrition can help you feel more able to navigate what else life throws at you.

Headquartered in the City of Industry, California, Sunny Health & Fitness is currently led by CEO John Sun. Debuting all the way back in 2002, it’s safe to say Sunny Health & Fitness knows a thing or two about home workout equipment. With nearly two decades of experience in the industry, the company offers an impressive line of workout machines. But what makes this brand stand out amongst its competitors?

Sunny Health & Fitness has built strong relationships with its manufacturers, working directly with them to ensure customers get the highest quality products for the lowest possible price. Partially manufactured in Xiamen, China, the company offers competitive pricing to home and commercial gym owners alike.

As a plus, the brand offers more than just equipment. To round out your at-home fitness regime, while writing my Sunny Health & Fitness spin bike review, I found that the company has a free podcast and blog. These sources offer endless amounts of recipes, detailed workouts, health tips, and other information to help customers lead a healthier, more balanced life.

Trainer’s Tip: make use of all the resources that Sunny Health and Fitness provide. We all need as much help as we can get. No one feels motivated every moment of every day! You are only human, and as a normal human, you will have moments where your motivation wavers. So, set yourself up for success. Try healthy recipes, get an accountability buddy, listen to a podcast while you exercise, and/or follow one of the programmed workouts when you don’t have the brain space to choose your own routine.

To keep employees in “sunny” spirits, this sporting goods brand keeps a measured balance between work and fun. According to the company’s website, it prides itself on operating as a family and loves recognizing the solid work its employees do:

“At Sunny, our employee staff culture is very important to us, after all… we are like FAMILY. Work balance lifestyle and fun culture are incorporated in our offices. We work hard, we play hard.”

Sunny Health & Fitness Sunny Exercise Bike Review

Gym memberships can be quite a hassle. Aside from monthly fees, sometimes your work life and social commitments just don’t leave you available when your gym is open. The effects of a lack of exercise are real: average energy expenditure has decreased[3] over the past 50 years, contributing to the rise in average body weight among Americans.

Trainer’s Tip: COVID has only exacerbated our sedentary lifestyle. Many of us now both live and work at home and are no longer getting our “lifestyle movement”. We are no longer taking public transit to work, going out to buy our groceries, and/or going for coffee breaks with colleagues. So we are no longer getting our inadvertent exercise “snacks” throughout the day, and we need to purposely build “snacks” into our life. One positive of having gym equipment is you can pop onto a machine for a 5 or 10-minute light jaunt throughout your day.

For those lucky enough to have space in their basement, living room, or garage, perhaps it’s time to start a personal fitness center. This is where Sunny Health & Fitness comes in.

The company offers a variety of indoor bikes. Whether you want to set one up in front of the TV, in your home gym, or under your desk (yes, you read that right), the brand has an option for your lifestyle and space. In my Sunny Health & Fitness spin bike review, I will cover a few of its most popular bikes to help you get started.

Sunny Health & Fitness Recumbent Exercise Bike Review

Winter is coming, and you know what that means. Icy pavements, snow-buried roads, and slippery terrains. Although running and biking in the winter are theoretically possible, for most of us, exercising in the cold is just unrealistic. Plus, who needs those cold-weather injuries[4]! Slipping and falling is a real and dangerous possibility.

Trainer’s Tip: know yourself. If you know you love running and cycling outside, great! For most, saying they will get daily movement in frigid conditions is an unrealistic expectation. Set yourself up for success. Find something you can do daily. Consistency is key!

The obstacles presented by cold weather make outdoor biking less pleasant, not to mention potentially dangerous. But, instead of throwing in the towel, the Recumbent Exercise Bike allows riders to get behind their favorite set of two wheels despite the frigid temperatures.

Cycling can help to reduce[5] the risk[6] of heart disease. If you want to reap this benefit but don’t want to brave the outdoors, an indoor exercise bike might be the answer for you.

This magnetic cycler comes with an 8-level adjustable resistance and a device holder for your phone, so you can keep up with your favorite YouTube videos while you ride. This Sunny Health & Fitness bike also comes with pulse sensors to help you regulate your heart rate.

Built with a wide cushioned seat, handlebars, and a universal foot strap, this model ensures a comfy and secure ride for those going the extra mile.

Complete with a set of wheels to make the storage process more manageable, tidying up doesn’t require an additional workout. Originally priced at $392, race to the finish line with this Sunny Health & Fitness sunny bike for $259. It measures 56” x 25” x 41”.

Sunny Health & Fitness Motion Air Bike Fan Exercise Review

Training for the Tour de France? Sweat in style with the Motion Air Bike Fan Exercise Bike with Unlimited Resistance and Device Holder.

Built with four adjustable components, this stationary model comes with foot straps, a belt-drive mechanism, fan tension, and an onboard performance monitor.

One study followed nearly 24k men and women who cycled almost every day as part of their commute over a 10-year period. Compared to those who didn’t cycle, this study[7] found that those who cycled had a significantly decreased risk for hypertension, hypertriglyceridemia, and impaired glucose tolerance. Those are some pretty outstanding benefits!

This Sunny Health & Fitness indoor cycling bike allows riders to view their calorie count, workout time, and distance gained. It can accommodate up to 265lbs and measures 40” x 23” x 47”.

It’s also set with front transportation wheels to make storage easier. Currently, the $420 Motion Air Bike Fan Exercise Bike with Unlimited Resistance and Device Holder is on sale for $280.

Sunny Health & Fitness Magnetic Mini Exercise Bike Review

Though having an entire room dedicated to working out would be ideal, that isn’t the reality for those of us living in big cities, unfortunately. Ideal for those who are limited in space, the Magnetic Mini Exercise Bike is designed to be compact and portable.

Trainer’s Tip: there is always a solution, and the desk bike is a GREAT fitness solution. People often say they don’t exercise because they are too busy, but with the desk bike that is not an issue. You can cycle as you talk on the phone, listen to ZOOM calls, and/or answer emails.

Worried about your work performance, that you will not be able to focus while you cycle? Well, this study[8] shows that as long as you are working at an easy to moderate intensity, typing performance and short-term memory do not deteriorate when you cycle. On top of that, this study shows that daily exercise has a positive impact on memory, cognition, and more!

In addition to the physical benefits offered by daily biking, one study[9] found that cycling had a positive influence on cognitive performance. So, this bike can help you work harder and smarter!

Made to be ergonomic, this model allows you to burn a few calories at your desk, side job, or while watching Netflix. It also comes with an 8-level tension knob to increase intensity.

Thanks to its silent and seamless magnetic system, users can work out in peace without the annoying whirr of other stationary cyclers. To keep track of your exercise time and the number of calories you’ve burned, cyclists can use the LCD screen built into their bikes.

For those looking for a more intense workout session, I recommend graduating onto the Sunny Health & Fitness Chain Drive Indoor Cycling Exercise Bike.

This machine measures 22” x 18” x 14.75” and includes a convenient carrying handle. The $250 Magnetic Mini Exercise is at a bargain for $160.

Sadly, this model is so popular that it’s currently sold out. If you’re looking for an alternative, check out a Sunny Health & Fitness stepper.

Sunny Health & Fitness Power Squat Rack Review

Your belfie (butt-selfie) game is about to get lit. The Power Squat Rack transforms any novice workout geek into a trained professional. Designed with a small footprint, this frame is best paired with dumbbells, bars, and bumper plates.

Trainer’s Tip: squats are a fantastic[10] multi-joint functional movement. Whether you want to just be able to get up and down on the toilet or rock the ski hill, your body needs to be able to squat. Make sure you perfect your form by doing bodyweight squats before you add weight!

In addition to strengthening your glutes and hamstrings, squats can benefit your other workout moves. This study[11] shows the endless ways they can help you, from improving your overall health to helping people rehabilitate from injuries.

Made to provide a full-body workout, the Sunny Health & Fitness squat rack enables you to flex those biceps and buttcheeks with pride. It features a knurled grip on the pull-up bar, 11” weight plate posts, j-hooks, a swivel landmine post, and resistance band knobs for security, adjustability, and organization.

This foundational base measures 42” in length, 47” in width, and 85” in height. Created for those who are super serious about upping their exercise game, the Power Squat Rack currently costs $400, giving you savings of $40.

Sunny Health & Fitness Power Zone Squat Stand Review

Looking to win your next arm-wrestling match? Get ready to crush your opponent with the Power Zone Squat Stand. Made to accommodate bumper plates and bars, this base is designed to withstand intensive workout sessions.

It’s painted with a powder-coating exterior and features an angled pull-up bar, spotter arms, Olympic plate storage, and resistance band posts with six different settings. Manufactured out of steel, this model can hold up to 805 lbs.

People of all sizes can work out with this frame because it comes with 18 adjustable points on the sides.

Originally priced at $349, customers can get the Power Zone Squat Stand for a steal at $299. It measures 38” x 53” x 87”.

Sunny Health & Fitness Roman Chair Review

Get those god-like glutes with the Roman Chair by Sunny Health & Fitness. Affixed at a 45-degree angle, this hyperextension seat allows you to flex those hamstrings and back muscles.

The roman chair is ideal for strengthening the entire posterior chain (including your lower back) and the obliques. Face forward to lift up and down and strengthen your posterior chain (back of the body). Face sideways and train your obliques and QL.

Did you know your back and side torso muscles are part of your core? Core strength is important for a variety of reasons, especially for older adults: one study[12] found that greater core muscle strength is associated with better balance, a lower fall risk, and better functional performance. This machine can accommodate up to 250 lbs of weight.

For a full workout routine, we recommend starting with the Sunny Health & Fitness SF-B1002 bike to get your heart rate up before getting into the heavier stuff. When your workout is done, this seat also helps stretch out those stiff muscles for optimal recovery.

Coming with a lock pin adjustment feature, you can modify this prototype to suit your desired height. Set with an easy-fold design for storage and a cushioned seat for comfort, the $130 Roman Chair is priced at an affordable $82. It measures 38” x 24” x 32”.

Sunny Health & Fitness 3-in-1 Foam Plyo Box Review

Step up your fitness game, literally, with the 3-in-1 Foam Plyo Box. This workout cube is reinforced with a slip-resistant vinyl surface made out of dense EPE foam padding. Users can choose one of three heights by flipping over the cushion.

Made to withstand 550 lbs of weight, this jump box is designed for core workouts and crossfit training.

Trainer’s Tip: Remember earlier when we discussed the importance of squats? If you are concerned about mastering the box jump, make sure you are squatting. The squat is an on-ramp to many things in life, including your ability to jump![13]

Priced at $165, the 3-in-1 Foam Plyo Box can be followed with the Sunny Health & Fitness sunny spin bike for a rigorous exercise routine. It measures 28” x 24” x 20”.

Sunny Health & Fitness Smart Fit Watch Review

Keep track of your workout goals with the Smart Fit Watch. Designed to monitor blood pressure, heart rate, pulse ranges, and oxygen saturation, this nifty gadget performs like a training assistant for those on-the-go moments. Are you looking to improve your health but struggling to stay committed? One article[14] showed that fitness watches can be a powerful tool to help create a lasting behavior change, like implementing a daily workout into your life.

It also comes with a CeeFit app to enable text notifications, phone calls, emails, and social media updates. Made to be sturdy and water-resistant, this workout accessory will last several drills and marathons.

Currently, the Smart Fit Watch is at a reasonable $100 compared to its $500 ‘fruit’ alternative.

Sunny Health & Fitness Rowing Machines Review

Sunny Health & Fitness is also known to carry a fantastic line of rowing machines. For those interested in a full-body workout, a Sunny Health rowing machine could be just the product for you.

One study[15] showed that indoor rowing decreased body fat percentage, improved back strength, and decreased cholesterol. Reap these benefits today by investing in your at-home rowing machine.

Sunny Health & Fitness Pedometer Wrist Watch Review

The Pedometer Wrist Watch enables you to track each step on your leisurely walk or an intensive mountain hike. Built with an adjustable stride setting and three-step sensor sensitivity calibration, users can affix this workout band for personalization.

Pedometers can be a great tool to help you improve your health. One study[16], which surveyed the opinions of physicians towards pedometer use, found that they generally supported pedometers and thought they could be helpful to support low-activity patients in becoming more physically active.

Pedestrians can use two fingertip pulse sensors to monitor time, distance gained, and calories burned. It can also be used as an alarm clock and a stopwatch for when you’re timing yourself.

Designed to withstand the toughest environments, including rain or snow, work smart, not hard, with the Pedometer Wrist Watch for $29.

Sunny Health & Fitness Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Sunny Health & Fitness Spin Bike Review

After seeing their best-selling products, you might be wondering if Sunny Health & Fitness is a good brand. Though its products look impressive, especially for the price, we wanted to see what users thought about them.

On the company’s website, most of its best-selling products have hundreds of positive ratings. For instance, the Recumbent Exercise Bike has 238 user testimonials with an average score of 4.8/5 stars.

While writing my Sunny Health & Fitness spin bike review, I found that most buyers were seniors aged 60+. Customers have noted that this machine was easy to assemble, comfortable, and quiet during operation. As one customer said:

“I have been very pleased with the recumbent exercise bike. It is easy to use and doesn’t take up much room. I am noticing that the strength in my legs is increasing and I can work longer. I am very glad I purchased it.”

Other best-selling products have averages of 4.6/5 stars or higher. Overall, customers also recommended these machines for how cost-effective, quiet, and easy to use they are:

  • Magnetic Recumbent Exercise Bike: 4.8/5 stars from 147 ratings
  • Synergy Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike: 4.6/5 stars from 426 ratings
  • 2 In 1 Magnetic Elliptical Upright Bike: 4.5/5 stars from 128 ratings
  • Treadmill W/ Manual Incline and LCD Display: 4.7/5 stars from 104 ratings
  • Twist Stepper Step Machine W/ Handlebar and LCD Monitor: 4.6/5 stars from 54 ratings

Amazon showcases a staggering 5.4k global ratings for the brand’s Indoor Cycling Exercise Bike with 40 LB Flywheel.

Earning a general score of 4.4/5 stars, buyers have flocked to the comments section to voice their praise, including how this machine was affordably priced. One user reported that it operates similarly to other, higher-priced bikes:

“I would closely compare this to a Schwann ic2, maybe even an ic3. I’ve trained on both bikes and I can happily say that this bike by Sunny Health ranks up there with them. Very quiet, very smooth, and the braking mechanism works instantly as it should.

Websites such as Ergonomics Health and Treadmill Reviews also rated Sunny Health & Fitness with two thumbs up. Both said that its machines come at a reasonable cost at their given quality.

Based on their own words, Sunny’s products are also simple to use because their exercise equipment doesn’t come with unnecessary frills.

In my research, I also came across a few negative Sunny Health & Fitness spin bike reviews. On Amazon for example, several customers noted issues in assembly and function for the Indoor Cycling Exercise Bike. There were also some complaints about customer service. However, these negative experiences do not appear to be the norm when it comes to ordering from the brand with only a few out there.

Given that these negative comments are outweighed by hundreds of happy customers who are more than satisfied with their machines that offer some of the best value-for-cost ratios on the market, Sunny Health & Fitness might be worth it for you.

Is Sunny Health & Fitness Worth It?

Sunny Health & Fitness Spin Bike Review

For those looking for an affordable way to start working out, this Sunny Health & Fitness spin bike review generally recommends this brand. Compared to other exercise equipment companies, it offers a wide selection of machines that come at a reasonable price

We’re all too familiar with how expensive the exercise world can be. Dietary supplements, clothing, and gym memberships can take a hefty punch to your wallet.

Sunny Health & Fitness believes that choosing quality doesn’t have to mean a wallowing account balance, especially due to the Affirm payment plans. This belief is definitely one we can get behind.

With that being said, we found a large number of complaints that concerned defective machines and poor customer service. Moreover, there are varied reviews when it comes to assembly.

Based on our findings, it may be best to look at other brands that have stood the test of time. However, if you’re itching to cut down your workout-related expenses, Sunny Health & Fitness could be a viable option to help save you some money while still getting that beach bod.

Sunny Health & Fitness Promotions & Discounts

A PIECE OF JUNK

The first two months with the recumbent bike went fine … Then, a pedal broke. I talked to customer service and they said I had to send them a video of the problem before they could talk about solutions.
Their solution was to send me some tools and parts … Without instructions. I had to ask them what I was to do with the materials before they sent me a how to repair video.
Suffice it to say the repair did not go as advertised. When I conveyed this problem I was given a different customer service rep who proceeded to tell me that in his year and a half with the company he had never run across my problem. He also sent me the repair video, schematics for the parts in question, and instructions for taking off the housing of the crank casing.
Guess what! Nothing fixed the problem.
In the end, the company policy of no returns, replacement or refund for a “part replacement” problem, left them suggesting I HIRE a handyman.
So I now have a $ 375.00 piece of junk sitting in my house.
My suggestion … Buy from someone with better replace, return, and refund policies.

I purchased a recumbent bike for Christmas. The pedal broke in March. They won’t replace it or fix it. Terrible products and customer service. Don’t buy ANYTHING FROM THEM.
