About Kailo

Kailo Review

Kailo is a pain-relieving patch made up of billions of nano capacitors that interact with your body’s natural electrical energy. The patch sticks directly onto skin or any lightweight clothing that sits close to your body, making it easy to use for as long as needed.

The patch has been featured in noteworthy media outlets like NBC, People, and LA Weekly. Kailo is praised for their non-invasive approach to pain relief.

It didn’t start out as a pain patch—it started as an antenna. One of the brand’s founders, who worked with communications antennas, broke 6 ribs in a motorcycle accident. While laid up in bed, he kept tinkering with his antennas and realized that when he rested his product on his chest, the ache in his ribs seemed to go away.

This revelation took the company in a new direction. What if you could create an antenna for the body that could interrupt the communication of pain signals?

In this Kailo review, I will cover everything you need to know about the brand, including in-depth details about their patch and how it works, the company’s bestsellers, customer feedback, and more, to help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

Pros and Cons

Kailo Review

Up next, I’ll discuss Kailo’s pros and cons, followed by how exactly the patch works.

Pros

  • Non-invasive: Kailo is a non-invasive pain relief solution that doesn’t require medication or invasive procedures. It is a patch that can be applied externally, making it convenient and easy to use.
  • Versatility: Kailo claims to work for a wide range of pain conditions, including headaches, muscle soreness, joint pain, and more. Its versatility makes it potentially useful for addressing various types of discomfort.
  • Reusability: The Kailo patch is reusable, meaning it can be applied multiple times. It is designed to last for years with proper care, making it a potentially cost-effective pain relief option in the long run.
  • Drug-free option: For individuals who prefer to avoid medications or have sensitivities or allergies to certain pain relief medications, Kailo offers a drug-free alternative that may provide relief.

Cons

  • Limited scientific evidence: While Kailo claims to be based on scientific principles, there is limited independent scientific evidence or peer-reviewed studies supporting its effectiveness. Most of the available evidence comes from anecdotal reports and testimonials.
  • Cost: Kailo patches can be relatively expensive compared to other pain relief options. The initial investment may be higher, especially if you require multiple patches or replacements.
  • Potential placebo effect: Some users of Kailo may experience pain relief due to a placebo effect, where the perception of improvement is influenced by expectations rather than the patch itself. The extent of the placebo effect can vary among individuals.

It’s important to note that individual experiences and opinions about Kailo may vary. Before using any pain relief product or device, it’s advisable to consult with a healthcare professional to discuss your specific condition and determine the most suitable treatment options for you.

How Does Kailo Work?

Kailo Review

Your Kailo patch has billions of nano capacitors that work by interacting with your body’s electricity and responding accordingly.

Pain is sent through your body’s natural electricity circuit. Kailo then takes advantage of this mechanism by cutting off that signal where it needs to be interrupted. This effectively stops your body from sending pain signals to your brain from the area where the patch is adhered.

You may find that Kailo works right away or within 10-15 minutes. It’s a non-invasive and non-prescription solution that sounds complicated, but is actually quite straightforward.

4 Kailo Bestsellers

On Kailo’s website, you’ll find a selection of products consisting of their patches and a few accessories. Ahead, my Kailo review will introduce you to the brand’s signature product and some of the extras offered to their shoppers.

Kailo Kit

Kailo is a single patch that sticks right on your skin, is thin and comfortable, and moves around with you all day. There’s no smell or sensation, just the promise of pain relief.

To purchase a Kailo patch, you’ll need to order the Kailo Kit

It comes with everything you need to get started relieving pain with the Kailo:

  • 1 Kailo Pain Patch
  • 1 Soft Carrying Case
  • 3 Adhesive Strips

The Kailo is intended to be used for as long as you’re experiencing pain. If you have chronic knee pain, for example, you can leave the device on 24/7, or only wear it when you’re out and about.

If you only need occasional pain relief, say when you’re feeling menstrual cramps or if your back is aching after a day of gardening, you can put it on and take it off with ease, as many times as you’d like.

The Kailo is reusable and can last several years when cared for properly. Simply remove and revive the adhesive when it starts to lose its stickiness (or replace it altogether). When not in use, protect your Kailo in the soft carrying case for safe storage.

The Kailo Kit retails for $120, but is currently on sale for $80

Kailo Bundles

You can also order the Kailo patch in multiples. This is great if you want to share the Kailo with family and friends, or want to wear more than one device.

Many customers wear 2 at a time, especially for larger areas, or if they have multiple sites of pain. The company also says some customers wear as many as 3, but wearing any more can overload your body with signals and reduce Kailo’s effectiveness.

You can purchase multiples of the Kailo in the following bundles:

  • Kailo Buddy Pack – 2 Kailo patches, 2 cases, 6 strips – $195
  • Kailo Family Pack – 5 Kalilo patches, 5 cases, 15 strips – $449
  • Kailo Group Pack – 10 Kailo patches, 10 cases, 30 strips – $899

All of Kailo’s bundles have financing and installment payment options through Bread, and are all currently on sale for 40% off as part of Black Friday.

Kailo Replacement Adhesive

To get your Kailo to work, it needs to be close to your skin. The Kailo is attached with an adhesive sticker strip, which lasts anywhere from 1 to 7 days

When your strip loses its stick, just peel it away from your Kailo and wash it with soap and water. It will return to its original sticky self.

You can wear the Kailo directly on your skin. You can also stick it to a piece of thin clothing or material that will be worn close to your body, like a pair of leggings, or even a gauze wrap.

With enough wear and tear, though, your original strip will eventually just not get as sticky as it used to. That’s when you’ll want to invest in Kailo’s Replacement Adhesive pack, which comes with 10 silicone strips.

Kailo’s adhesive tends to remain sticky longer if it is placed in a dry place that isn’t interrupted — meaning an area that doesn’t move much or isn’t exposed to the elements. In an area like your back or ribs, Kailo may stick longer. Some areas, like knees or hands may require more frequent adhesive replacement.

It’s also a good idea to have an extra strip or two with you when you’re out and about. If you notice your strip is losing its tack, but you don’t have a chance to wash it, you can easily make a swap with a backup strip.

Some people have allergic reactions to silicone, so this is something to be aware of before you you make a purchase

Stay stocked up on replacement adhesive for $25 per pack

Kailo KT Tape

Kailo KT tape is used to support your Kailo when you’re wearing it in areas that need a bit more durability and stick.

KT tape is recommended if you’re using your Kailo on areas like hands, ankles, wrists, or other parts of your body where the Kailo may have trouble laying flat or staying adhered while you move.

It’s a great way to ensure your Kailo is staying right where you need it, and maximizing the longevity of your silicone adhesive strips.

The KT Tape contains a roll of 30 adhesive strips that are gentle on skin and hair. So if you read “tape” and were thinking of duct tape, imagine instead a slightly sticky tensor bandage. Each piece of tape lasts up to 3 days.

You can pick up a roll for $12

Who Is Kailo For?

Kailo Review

Kailo is for any adult who deals with pain of any kind, except people who are pregnant or have devices like pacemakers. Whether it’s muscle aches from an intense training session, a sprained ankle, or a chronic condition like sciatica, Kailo may be the right tool for helping you find relief.

It can also be a great option for those who prefer to avoid medication and, in some extreme cases, may even help mitigate the need for surgery.

You’ll always want to consult with your medical professionals if you’re experiencing any new or ongoing pain, and seek professional guidance for your pain management needs.

How Do You Wear Kailo?

Kailo Review

Wearing Kailo is like wearing a band-aid—a pain-relieving, high-tech band-aid, that is. I’ll walk you through the application process below, to show you just how simple getting the relief from the Kailo can be:

  1. Put your Kailo textured side down on a flat surface, like a counter or table.
  2. With the smooth side facing up, unpeel the backing from an adhesive strip.
  3. Place the sticky side of the adhesive strip down against Kailo, making sure that all corners line up.
  4. When you’re ready to apply it, remove the other side of the backing.
  5. Place the patch wherever you need pain relief.

Comparison: Kailo vs. Salonpas

Kailo Review

Brands like Kailo set out to do something different than more traditional pain relief methods. They want to be an option that directly targets the source of pain and interrupts receptors, while some other products do things like mask the sensation of pain, relax muscles, or reduce pain-causing inflammation.

There are other pain relief patch products on the market you may already be familiar with. One of them is Salonpas, an adhesive patch product that has also brought relief to many users.

In this section of my Kailo review, I’ll be taking a look at these two brands side-by-side, to assess their similarities and differences and give you a sense of where Kailo fits into the market.

Salonpas is a pain relief patch that uses a non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drug to bring you relief. Its two main ingredients are Menthol and Methyl Salicylate.

These ingredients provide a hot-cold effect sensation to distract and soothe, and deliver salicylic acid through the skin to reduce inflammation in the affected area. Salonpas has a small risk of causing stomach bleeding.

Kailo has no known side effects, but should not be used by those who are pregnant or have pacemakers. Additionally, the silicone on the adhesive may cause minor skin irritation.

Only one Salonpas patch can be used at a time, whereas you can use as many Kailo patches as you like.

Prices vary for Salonpas patches. They can be bought individually for as little as $2, but are generally sold in packs. Salonpas patches also come in different sizes to accommodate different areas and different body shapes. Packs typically retail for $10–$30 for 6–12, depending on patch dimensions.

Each Salonpas provides up to 12 hours of relief, so if you deal with daily pain, you’ll go through more than a box per week. In contrast, Kailo patches cost $80 for the starter kit, but are reusable and intended to last.

Although their methods are similar, the science behind Kailo and Salonpas is very different. Salonpas is a medicated product and is best for pain caused by inflammation. Those who want to use a patch for pain relief but prefer not to use medication, or don’t need anti-inflammatory effects, may prefer Kailo as it is drug-free

Kailo Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Kailo Review

To find out if Kailo really performs as advertised, we’ll need to hear from those who have tried it. In this section of my Kailo review, you’ll read about real customer feedback from around the web about the experience of using the nano-tech pain patch.

I’ll start with a few star ratings by customers, from the brand’s website:

  • Kailo Kit 4 out of 5 stars, 552 reviews
  • Adhesive 10 pack 4.5 out of 5 stars, 574 reviews
  • KT Tape Roll 3.9 out of 5 stars, 254 reviews

The comments section is packed with story after story of how the patch gave customers relief.

One Kailo review reads: “Could barely walk 6 months after repaired meniscus…Pain gone immediately after patch applied. Walked up a flight of stairs and jumped up and down. No pain.” This review was written by a 71-year-old, so the jumping really does say something about Kailo’s effectiveness.

Another comment reads: “…have had debilitating sciatica lower back and left leg and knee…used one night on lower back and was able to get up the next day and walk around almost to point of normal.”

I decided to head over to Amazon to see what Kailo’s global customers had to say, on a website independent of the company itself.

I looked at the company’s flagship product, the Kailo Kit, which had a 3.7 out of 5 star score from 2,043 buyers. Here’s the rating snapshot by percentage, for a better look at where their score comes from.

  • 5 stars – 52%
  • 4 stars – 12%
  • 3 stars – 9%
  • 2 stars – 6%
  • 1 star – 21%

The majority of customers say the patch simply works. They don’t necessarily understand the technology, but they recognize the results.

One shopper says they “…went from a 7-8 on the pain scale to a 1-2.” For a non-prescription treatment, it seems like an impressive result.

And speaking of prescriptions, that’s one of the things users love about Kailo. It’s a prescription-free, drug-free device

One customer says: “I have had chronic back pain for 4 years. I’ve been on meds for a year and a half…my doc wants me to stop taking my meds…So I bought this patch. IT IS AMAZING. Nothing else has worked.

While this review doesn’t specify whether the Kailo was a good long-term solution, it is possible that Kailo may be a helpful alternative to medication for some pain sufferers.

To find out a little more, I combed through Reddit to see what its users thought about the pain patch.

One wrote: “I’ve got it and tried it, and it worked for me. Then I told my boyfriend it was a vitamin strip (he is gullible) and put it on him and his first response was how his calf wasn’t hurting anymore.” This simple study showed that even someone who didn’t know they’d be experiencing relief felt it immediately

During my search for feedback in this Kailo review, the brand has had some negative reviews. Not all users have seen positive effects. Rather, it seems some users haven’t seen any effects at all. They also have some concerns about the company making promises that are too lofty, especially around the sensitive and highly individual experience of physical well-being.

But for as many reviews as there are saying the product doesn’t work, there are hundreds of positive reviews that say that the patch really does help

Ultimately, it’s very difficult to discern whether the product is working exactly as promised. Customers only know if it is, or if it isn’t. As with any pain relief solution, the kind of pain, the person’s individual body, and even the person’s mental attitude can influence how a product works.

When it comes to the Kailo, it’s clear that enough people have experienced some level of quick, effective pain relief that it may be worth your attention.

Is Kailo Worth It?

Kailo Review

There are a lot of good things going for the Kailo patch. Most importantly, there is research-based evidence on the effectiveness of its technology, and feedback from thousands of customers who say it relieves their pain.

The patch is also user-friendly. It’s easy to apply and wear, waterproof, and reusable. This makes it both a simpler, less wasteful and potentially more cost effective pain management solution than other techniques and products. It’s also a drug-free device.

If you’re not completely sold on Kailo, the patch comes with a 30-day Money-Back Guarantee that lets you put it to the test. If you’re in Utah, the brand even recommends making an appointment to visit their office, where you can try the product in person before buying.

With a relatively minimal upfront investment, and with some evidence of the patch’s ability to treat pain, I can’t see many downsides to trying the product. If you’ve been experiencing pain of any kind, Kailo may be a great solution.

Alternatives

While Kailo is a specific brand that offers a unique pain relief patch, there are other brands and products on the market that provide similar pain relief solutions. Here’s a few suggestions to look into:

  1. Quell: Quell is a wearable pain relief device that uses neurostimulation technology to alleviate chronic pain. It is worn on the upper calf and delivers electrical pulses to the nerves, triggering the body’s natural pain relief response.
  2. Omron: Omron offers a range of pain relief devices, including TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) units. These portable devices use electrical stimulation to help alleviate pain by blocking pain signals to the brain.
  3. HealthmateForever: HealthmateForever specializes in TENS and EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) devices. Their products provide portable pain relief solutions for various conditions, including muscle and joint pain.
  4. Aleve Direct Therapy: Aleve Direct Therapy is a wearable TENS device that attaches to the lower back. It provides targeted relief for lower back pain using electrical stimulation.

Kailo Promotions & Discounts

Kailo Review

When it comes to pain, it feels like we’d throw any amount down just to get some sort of relief, but demand on the market shouldn’t give carte blanche to pain management companies to take advantage of consumers.

While doing my research for this Kailo review, I found that the company has been careful to keep costs reasonable. While the initial cost is higher than other over-the-counter pain relief patches, you only need one patch for long-term relief

Plus, the brand offers several discounts I spotted at the time of this Kailo review:

  • Get 10% off when you join the mailing list
  • Special 40% off their entire website for Black Friday
  • Free US shipping
  • Occasional sales, like buy one Kailo Kit and get another for 45% off

Where to Buy Kailo

Kailo Review

When in doubt, buy directly from the brand’s website. It’s the easiest method, giving you access to its entire product selection, perks, gets you their 30-day satisfaction guarantee, and makes for a simple return, if necessary. To shop, head to gokailo.com.

If Amazon is more your thing, you can find select products there too, but the perks, guarantees, and return policies will not apply.

FAQ

Kailo Review

Do Kailo patches really work?

According to thousands of customers, yes. But don’t just take their word for it. I also found on the brand’s website that Kailo was used in an IRB-approved pain prevention study that tested the patch over 30 days on patients with mild to chronic pain.

The IRB is an extension of the FDA assembled to review and monitor biomedical research that uses humans. The study was looking to measure any decreases in pain, and found “statistically significant results in patient outcomes.

How long can I wear Kailo?

As long as you want. You can wear it for 10 minutes, an hour, or for a full day.

Can my Kailo get wet?

Kailo patch is completely waterproof and can be submerged in the water. After you get out of the water, just dry it off with a towel and let it air dry before putting it back on.

Can I wear more than one Kailo patch at a time?

It appears that people have a threshold for pain relief, meaning that if you wear two or more patches, the amount of pain relief you feel in each spot will be decreased, as that relief is spread out over several areas on your body. With that said, you are welcome to wear as many Kailo patches as you like.

How do I clean my Kailo?

To clean your Kailo, remove the adhesive strip, and just use warm water and soap.

Never use harsh cleaners, oils, or rubbing alcohol directly on your Kailo—they’ll damage the product.

If you have any sticky residue from the strip left on your skin, it can be washed off or removed with a bit of skin-safe oil, or even makeup remover. Just make sure to re-apply your Kailo to clean skin free of any residue.

Can I wear Kailo if I’m pregnant?

The brand does not recommend wearing a Kailo patch if you’re pregnant.

What is Kailo’s shipping policy?

Kailo ships all over the world. Since it’s based in the US, American customers get free shipping. For all others, shipping will be calculated at checkout.

The brand offers 4 different shipping options for those in the US:

  1. First Class: 3-5 business days
  2. Parcel Select Ground: 3-8 business days
  3. UPS Priority Mail: 3 business days
  4. UPS Priority Mail Express: 3 business days

You can select which one you’d like at checkout. Once your order ships, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a tracking link.

What is Kailo’s return policy?

Kailo comes with a 30-day Money-Back Guarantee that promises a complete refund if you’re not totally happy with your pain relief patch.

Though Kailo gives customers free shipping, you will have to pay for return shipping. To make a return, simply email the address listed in the very last section of this Kailo review. Refunds will only be applied once your return has been received at the brand’s warehouse.
